I LOVE YOU FAR BABY

This is to prove my dedication!

Well, where to begin? I first met Far a few years ago, when the Band of the Red Hand did their ‘illegal’ invasion of SG and Roka and Corki had that massive scrap about it. Far joined the Black Ajah at about this time and I was sure that she was a spy for the Band. But she stuck around long after the Band’s invasion, and eventually even I had to accept that she wasn’t actually a spy - especially after she told me several times that she wasn’t! Then she worked her way into my good graces by being a totally awesome TSS, Chosen, and probably BA head (I've just had a brain fizzle and can't remember if she ever actually was). Along the way we got on each other’s MSN lists and talked a bit, though this is made difficult by the ~16 hour time differences between the USA and NZ.

So, the things that make Far particularly awesome.  In addition to her devilishly good looks and talent for running the most chaotic mafia games I’ve had the pleasure of playing in, I appreciate the way that she steers a clear path through drama. She was a treasured stalwart of the BA when she was in the faction, and I still consider her BA (and I hope she considers herself so as well, deep down inside.) She also has a refreshingly no-bull approach to the politics of SG, and I appreciate this and consider it a very important part of being a leader. So she’ll probably say she’s impartial, really, despite everything. *sigh*

*puppy eyes at Far*

Continuing: our talks on MSN have also allowed me an insight into her personality, and she’s always good to talk to. As she’s been around about as long as I have it’s nice to reminisce about old times. I mean, how many others remember people like Kiara and things like the first time I was BA Head?

Unfortunately, Far isn’t perfect. She walks a tenuous balance between ‘too sweet’ and ‘too evil’. As those of you who have her on facebook will know, Far has many friends outside Shayol Ghul and interacts with them with an almost disturbing lack of ferocity. Other signs that she might be tending towards the gentler sides of life are her positions as a DM staff member and her tendency to play World of Warcraft. However, I console myself with the knowledge that as a member of the Black Ajah really deep down even though she is of course completely impartial, she’s probably just practicing the art of subversion and that we will see the fruits of her evil plan come to light in the future. Also, she offered to set up a brothel for me once, which was nice of her.

Sometimes people ask me if I want the top spot in SG, the org leader position. And, truth be told, I don’t. I think I’m happy as Black Ajah Head – I’m proud of the way it’s gone from three members when I first joined to the number it has now – and I think that Far’s the best org leader we could have right now, as well. You rock Far baby.

Okay, I met Pandy about three months before the whole Band invasion debacle thing (he continues to remember it wrong--one of his many likeable traits). I would see him post from time to time on the website, but I really got to know him on the old chat. Hax, Pandy, Chilli, Canuk, Roka, Madj, and Co. would often spend our mornings (their nights) playing hearts or that other weird game (can't recall the name at the moment--Hax was crazy about it), and I would get to question everyone about their country, culture, and confirmation/denial of the various stereotypes out there regarding where they are from.

While learning about the lovely place called New Zealand, I initially had pandy much older than he really was. Imagine my surprise when I found out he was a mere 14!!! After reconciling to myself that I wasn't being some weird person because I was continually hanging out with people significantly younger than me online, I learned about car eating birds, their annoyance over being known for things such as LOTR, Xena, and Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. I learned that he loved Rally Cars (not the same as NASCAR--learned that too), and we had many lengthy discussions about music.

Things I particularly adore about Pandy is his apparent talent and love for music--something that I also hold near and dear to me. He's very funny; if you get him in the right mood, and he's always willing to listen to me yammer on about SG and how we can make it better. He's really good about grounding me and telling me when I'm getting a little out of control as far as future planning, and he does a great job leading the Black Ajah Faction. Something else I really appreciate about Pandy is his honesty with himself and others. The first time he was Black Ajah Head, he stepped down as soon as he realized he wouldn't be able to juggle his real life and DM. I really respect that, and I hope that if/when that time comes for me, it will be as easy for me to walk away from being OL. ;)

Now that I've built him up, it's time to knock him down a peg or two (else he'll never be fit to live with, I assure you). Pandy is a grump, and sometimes he's even moody to me. He even ignores me sometimes on MSN. Sometimes I think he is too nice to people who deserve to be publicly flogged, and he's absolutely isolated from anything pop culture related. Don't ever try to talk to him about movies or music from this era, because you will find yourself banging your head against a wall.

But even though he exists in a Baroque stasis-mode, and he's moody, and he blows me off and can be too nice; he's still one of the most interesting and coolest people I've ever met, and that totally outshines all the bad things. So in conclusion: I [glow=red,2,300]<3[/glow] me some cosmicpanda. :D

Bring on the next task!

Oops.  :-[

I've never played a single game of hearts with anybody from SG ever!  :(

if I remember correctly, and I do, I won 90% of the time at any hearts game with amateurs - all of you (the whole game, not every hand mind). Far as literati goes, I held my own and won several times (though Madj was tough), despite being deprived of english as my mother language :P
