I have started the 2nd in the series of rp threads pertaining to the Reds bonding Asha’man story. Participating in this will be Zarinen as Highest (me), Raslyn as Keeper (Kara), and the 3 Sitters. Confirmed Sitters are Jasmyne (Tigs), Larindhra (me) and I THINK Jagen. If she is not available from within this week, we will have to make another plan.

 

I would like us to plan the RP here, and preferably have everyone either post here or send via pm/im/email before posting in the thread. This is a showcase RP and I would like us to shine!

 

The idea is that everyone will make an intro post (hopefully I’ve given you enough to work with – if not, we can plan edits and additions here.) Once everyone is seated and whatever, Zarinen will announce her plan and its approval by the Amyrlin. Then the fights can start. We can do the posts after the 1st ones in shorter bits, if you like – more and faster interaction that way.

 

We all have bios and stuff, but putting a brief synopsis of our characters and the roles they will play in this, here, should make it considerably easier. To that end, I’ll start with mine.

 

Zarinen Rafaliva:

 

99, Saldhaean, long curly blue-black hair, gray eyes, olive skin, 5’8”, rich alto voice, lush figure, beautiful and outrageously flamboyant since her makeover. (She looks pretty much like the picture in my Sig)

 

Noticeable quirks: Has a permanent smile on her face which remains even when she’s throwing crockery in a fit of temper. She is prone to long silences while she's thinking, totally ignoring everyone around her, then suddenly barking out pronouncements or orders.

 

Recently chosen as Highest, after exile of 20 years for bonding and then killing a man who could channel. When an AS’s warder dies, it unhinges her a bit, and this was made even worse by the fact that Z had killed him herself. On top of that, there was the humiliation of a public trial, birching and exile, followed by 20 years of hard manual labour on a farm, where she was strapped once a week as part of her punishment. She was also not allowed to even touch the Source, AND a Green came around every so often to shave her head. Zarinen was never overly interested in her looks, but when she arrived back at the Tower she looked terrible. A fortuitous meeting with an Ogier and a merchant (rp stalled), she had a complete makeover. Zarinen now dresses like a cross between a Domani and a Mayener, wears rich and flamboyant clothing and jewellery, and is trying to out-Green the Greens as a means of revenging herself :P

 

To summarise: she’s more than half-crazy after what she’s been through, extremely bold, iron-willed, willing to take enormous risks, working towards ruling the Reds with an iron fist, has a bad temper and throws crockery when she loses it. She’s intelligent, but has a tendency not to think things COMPLETELY through before leaping into action.

 

 

Larindhra Reyne:

 

Over 210, Shienaran, long dark brown hair (just starting to gray a bit now) usually worn in a loose bun, brown eyes, pale olive skin, 5’6”, alto voice, slightly plump, pretty but not beautiful.

 

Noticeable quirks: A seemingly warm and motherly smile, which she uses as a tool.

 

Highly intelligent, stern, quietly stubborn, impatient with foolishness. She has a quirky sense of humour which she mostly hides, except with her few close friends.  Seemingly warm but can actually be coldly calculating, although she does have a nurturing streak (developed during her years as MoN). She is totally dedicated to the Light, the Tower, and her Ajah.  She joined the Red Ajah because she thought it would give her the best opportunity to hunt Darkfriends, a subject on which she is near rabid (her family was killed by Darkfriends).

 

She likes working behind the scenes, manipulating people towards what she thinks is best. This trait has developed even more since she became Sitter – she was behind getting Shevara raised to Amyrlin, Z as Highest, and Jagen as Sitter (if she joins us). She does not dislike men, but is NOT in favour of bonding the BT Boys! She’s trying to steer Z away from that using proxies (like Jagen) though, not by openly opposing this.

Just so everyone knows, on Feb 4th I will be going to Japan. Not sure when I will be back after that but it shouldn't be more than a few days.

 

Jagen, she is a Taraboner with very long red hair she keeps in braids, and always wears her veil and Taraboner dresses. Kind of tall but not overly so, she is thin but curvy. She has a doll like face and is very beautiful, except that she never smiles and for that matter, always seems to be scowling at something. Really, there is nothing warm about her appearance.

 

Jagen, although no one knows it at the Tower, grew up on a small farm and became a servant at the Panarch's Palace in her youth. She spent her time dutifully doing her chores and secretly pretending she was a noble at times too, trying to emulate how they walked and talked. At some point after moving into the palace she went to visit home, to find her step-father and mother dead, her sister gone. A bit after, a visiting Aes Sedai took Jagen to the Tower after testing her. She was a Red from the start, and not just because of hatred at her Darkfriend stepdad, but her general perception of justice and an attitude that was always against any males trying to channel. She paid hard attention to her work in the Tower and was a good student, but never got along with other novices and Accepted. As an Aes Sedai, she spent most of her time away from the Tower serving as an adviser to various nobles. In the Tower, she helps out as a teacher.

 

Jagen is a traditionalist as far as one can go. She believes that with novices and Accepted tough lessons are the best ones and she has a habit of pushing them to their limits. She is tough in public and doesn't betray and 'soft' feelings. She has no close friends and is perhaps considered rather lonely (you can call her a goth of WoT, in a sense) but she never tries to get close to anyone. Her relations are mainly strictly business. She does not like playing games and takes everything pretty seriously. For this, she generally doesn't get along with others, but business always gets done. Her life as an Aes Sedai is everything to her.

 

Also, she has been away from the Tower for about 30 years, traveling around various places to find girls for the Tower and make connections in the world, so everything going on now is something of a surprise for her.

Raslyn's short Bio:

 

She's 149 years of age, tall and slender. Her grey hair is always swept back in a severe bun and her dress is always plain and no-nonsense, much like her attitude. She has a sharp shrewd mind that can figure out all angles of a conversation before the other person has finished speaking. She will speak her mind, but will almost always think of the ramifications before she does. She loves her Ajah with a passion and will heatedly defend it and her fellow members from any perceived slight. She looks severe and forbidding but can be quite friendly with a ready smile to those who have got to know her. She is slow to make friends but once she does they become a friend for life and she will remain loyal regardless. She has a prejudice against the Children of Light due to her love of her home country and family history. She is a respected figure in the Ajah for the most part, not least due to her ability to see every angle of a situation and her ability to speak plainly and succinctly. Her forthright approach and her occasional lapse of tact however do not always go down well and there are those that dislike her for it.

Jasmyne Ceres:

 

86; Cairheinin; long dark, loosely curly hair that hasn't been cut in 50 years, so it's rather lengthy; pale skin, 4'3"; quite pretty; overly flambouyant in her styles.

 

Personality: She's very short tempered and likes to be in control. She will act however she has to to get what she wants, as her former MoN would know rather well. She tends to have issues with authority and hates to be given orders.

 

History: Jasmyne grew up as a maid in the Sun Palace and was usually in very high standing as her mother was the head maid. When her mother retired, she left because she no longer got the power to boss the others around. Se went to the Tower to gain an even bigger power and was found to be able to channel.

 

As an N&A, she had a horrible time being submissive and as a novice, she went to the MoN every day for years. By some miracle, she made it to Accepted and an incident there caused her to turn to the Dark One.

 

She chose the Red by process of elimination, but had it not been for a certain novice, she would have gone Green. From then on, she spent a lot of time hunting men who could channel and if it was possible, she would sent them off to be trained as dreadlords.

 

Shortly after Shevara was raised, she was chosen as a Sitter due to some brilliant acting on her part.  She is not opposed to bonding men, as she has no problem with them as to her, an Asha'man is even better than a plain old Warder.

I think we should probably have a post each stating their reactions and then firing questions at Zarinen...Zarinen could answer or try and answer questions before putting her foot down and giving her orders :P

Quick note: Raslyn is being sent as Shevara's eyes and ears since she can't be seen in the Red Quarters herself! I'm sure it'll come out pretty quickly that this has the Amyrlin's support to go forward, and Raslyn is definitely smart enough to figure out her intended role. :D

Joining, if only to throw out a little 'worldly knowledge'. I'll read through everything first before making any definitive decision as to where to set Mae.

 

Quick Bio:

 

150+ (range), She is a short Cairhien, very fit but still considered a little large. Brown unruely hair, brown eyes that hide behind gold framed glasses (spectacles), her presence is impossing not only with her self confidence but knowing she is ranked among the strongest women in the One Power in the Tower. Many women will defer to her regardless of titles. She dresses humbly, with simple shirts and long skirts either in earth patterns or of solid colours. She wears a simple hair piece of a golden cairhien sun to hold her hair up or back out of her face. Only for formal occasions will she put effort into appearing more her station. She appears unassuming, but don't let that fool you.

 

Very experienced for her age, Maegan is a strong supporter of the Black Tower and an alliance but is very much against the concept of bonding. She views the Asha'men more as Brothers then as potential warders and finds bonding on both ends an insult to both sides. Having been bonded by an Ashamen, she knows how the bonds work better than anyone in the Ajah. She is only just returning after a long adventure away from the Tower in seclusion. Her knowledge of the Watchers is still yet unknown.

I actually can't remember if we stated this anywhere, per se, but the initial round of Bondings will only be done by/to the Amyrlin, Keeper, Highest and the 3 Sitters.

 

The way it's set up, is that the BT boys rock up whilst the Highest, Keeper & Sitters are discussing the matter of approaching them. There is no time to inform any of the other Reds about the decision.

 

Once the above mentioned have all bonded, the boys will be brought back to the Red Quarters, and the other Reds will be informed. It will then be up to them whether or not they wish to bond.

An actual Phase write up would probably be the most useful than a 'i think this happens and then this happens'... keeps everyone on the same page, ya'know? :)
