He probably thought we would think it was too obvious to be true. Unless he really was a death miller and only lied or was misinformed (i.e. his role thought that he could take an extra vote, but he really couldn't) about the extra vote part.

That would be bastard modding, which I'm thinking Pandy wouldn't have done in a game here on DM. It is somewhat popular over on mafiascum, but they usually announce it in advance, as lying to your players isn't generally considered a good idea. ;)

That being said, Barm could have just been not fully informed, instead of being misinformed. I dunno....I'm just speculating. :-\

I'm still wondering why Barms pulled what he did. Does anyone have any new thoeries on that?

Upon reading your post again (I just replied yesterday instead of really thinking about it), I'm now suspicious of you, Wes. Why sidetrack with theories on why Barms said what he said? I know that your answer to this will be that you are just trying to get conversation going and piece things together from Barm's death, but I don't see the relevance in why Barm lied. At least not yet. If he was mafia (which it appears), then he's dead and we should move on. If he's some unfortunate super miller sorta thing, then there isn't much we can do unless the person who created that role comes forward and divulges the details. It was Day 1 anyway, so voting patterns aren't much of a help yet. I'm going to operate under the assumption that he was mafia and is now dead. Yay us.

Which means I'm looking for DJ to pop back in and let us know if he found a mafia.

I'll answer these in order:

It's not sidetracking if it's the only thing we have to go on. And I don't think we understand what happened.

1. Multiple players, if not everybody, got the message that "Barmy is scum" in their role pm's. I think we can all agree that it was placed their for a reason.

2. Because Pandy modified the roles, it ie reasonable toexpect that some of them link together.

3. Barm described himself as a Super Miller, but then posted the link to Death Miller. Did Pandy modify the Death Miller role to include the extra vote thing, and name it a Super Miller?

Wrong, and wrong.

4. I'm not just trying to get a conversation going. I think that we have skipped over a few important pieces of possible evidence and I'm wondering why.

5. The first is Mynd. He was quick to come up with the plan to test Barm. It was a pretty good plan, if a little loose, but why push it so hard, so fast? I think Mynd has already given us the answer: he tells us that he is not a plain vanilla townie - more like "Rocky Road or Pistachio". I think he might be implying that he's the Serial Killer, which would explain why he came up with that plan so fast - Because he knew he could take out anyone that looked scummish.

6. And the relevance in why Barm lied might very well be that he didn't. What if he was telling the truth?

And this is the important part - Lia's role was "Vote-Giver". We don't have a definition of this role, but the name implies that she could do something to manipulate votes. What is she gave someone an extra vote? There are a lot of scenarios here, but the important thing to me is that something was possible.

Well part of what I submitted is part of the roles, it will be interesting to see how my twist was reworked. ;D

What if this is what got her killed? The mafia would have known that Barm was not on their team. And they would have seen that the vote count was just seven. They easily could have figured out that the extra vote that Barm talked about was an addition from something that Lia suggested and seen her as a potential threat. So she was killed.

The rest of Verb's quote is what struck me about him:

This is WIFOM of a classic vintage. The entire statement very clearly, very reassuringly tells us that Barm was mafia and we should be glad he's gone. We don't need to worry about it, just keep playing and we'll see what happens. But whatever you do, don't think that there is anything that happened during day 1 that can help us. Just relax. Everything is going to be ok. 8)

Verbal has only posted four times in this game. 1 spam, 1 apology for being inactive, 1 thoery that might have been constructive, and 1 reversal that very well might have given him away.

Which means that I'm staring right back at you, Verbal. heh

Sorry for inactivity guys, but there are good (but sad) reasons.

My wife is feeling really ill, and we are still trying to figure out what it is. We have a doctors appointment later today, and hope to get the answers. I will therfore most likely not be on untill monday. My role is very important, obviously, and a modkill would be bad. So if im to little on, i would like for someone else to take over. This is all up to mod though...

Alright, if we lynch Hybrid and he's a symp, then DJ is confirmed and I'm off of Verbal's case -

I'd agree. I really dont think a mass reveal is going to be particularly informative at this moment in time.

Inclined to believe DJ - atm i can't see any particular reasoning for him to faux reveal. Again, if it turns out to be horrendously wrong, we've got a coroner report and can lynch him accordingly.

Alright, that explains a little bit, but I don't think anyone should say anything else about their roles. We're just going to be set up as targets if we do. The healer needs to protect the finder tonight, but hopefully there are other healing roles that can cover Verbal.

Im back guys. My wife had a pretty agressive salmonella. But since treatments has started, she is much better, and back working today. So all good...

If Barm was a miller and did have eight votes it means someone on his vote was definately a mafia and Lia gave their vote to him. I think DPR said this. I thought it odd that DPR didn't put his vote on Barm straight away and said he would wait, for what exactly. Maybe because he had already been given the extra vote from Lia, he couldn't vote on Barm whilst she was still alive too early on, as she could easily question him. Of course if he was the last one, knowing that his vote would be counted as two and Pandy was around to do the Lynch, then it would go to night and he could get rid of Lia before she could say anything. She isn't the most active in these games so it wouldn't be too much of a risk. DPR of all people questioned what a voter giver was...did he really not know!

Of course that theory is if Barm was telling the truth.

So we have only one way to prove DJ as correct in his finding, so [glow=red,2,300]Hybrid [/glow]

Why are you trying to start a lynch against anybody without hearing from the finder first? I don't even care that it's against me, but don't you want to hear wht he found? He might have checked me and found me innocent, or better, checked somebody else and found them to be mafia. Which you already know :P

Because we are on day three with an outed finder, a dead confrimed innocent, and a dead Vote Giver. Other than that, no reason...
