Just so everyone is aware, none of the current bonding arrangements are set it stone.  Many of the people involved will have a chance to interact with their bondmate BEFORE the bonding takes place to see if they click IC.  If your character WOULD NOT get along at all with a crazy, darkfriend Rapunzel for example :P, you can change the arrangement.

 

So learn all you can about potential bondmates before this actually happens.  Plenty of time to re-work things.  Once bonds happen they will be stuck that way, so make sure you're happy with how things stand.

(I'm at work at the moment and the damn software is stopping me looking at the site, so I'm not 100% sure if this is it. Someone jump in with the right link if you can please? :P)

 

General summary about making a bio though. You're just another character off the streets of Randland, this means no major characters from the books (or cousins, nephews, distant relatives, etc) or fictional voices in their heads. This isn't done to be mean, but otherwise we've have EVERYONE wanting to be the Dragon Reborn, or speaking the old tounge without a second thought, commanding wolves, being a prodigy the likes of which haven't been seen in a thousand years, etc etc etc. Basically it gets really boring really fast.

 

Timeline wise we're past Dumani's wells and the event where the Aes Sedai rocked up and the BT and got bonded. They've since been release but as you can see by the first post on this thread, there's still a lot more planned. We dont follow the books directly, but we use the major events as guideposts with a few tweeks of our own so its still fanfiction, as opposed to copyright.

 

That said everything else from the books basically stays the same. We get to wear black and blow things up, Illianers still talk funny, borderlanders still fight trollocs, and warders get to play hide and seek with their fancy cloaks :P Take a look at some of the boards to get taste for things if you like. It's basically divided into OOC (Out of Character), which is where you are now, and the set of boards below is the IC (In Character). Use the OOC boards to ask questions, plan RPs and so forth, that way IC wise its all in character (like D&D without the dice ). You'll basically take the lead from other players, and be given chances to respond, talk, do stuff, and what not.

 

Before you start though you need to get a Biography for your character approved. Basically give us your character's name, nationality, description, and a brief (or not so brief :P) history. Try to work in how you found out you can channel. There are recruiting parties that go out as in the books, so saying that they tested you and brought you back in probably the easiest way to do it. The email address to send it to is in the first link. You can your start RPing with your first class.

 

You're first few RPs will basically be getting used to life at the Black Tower, learning how to use a weapon, controlling Saidin and the Taint, and getting to know a few of the other people. You'll have a teacher for each class who'll basically guide you through the whole thing, kinda like a GM. They'll pull you into line if things get a bit unrealistic or out of control.

Also, one thing to keep in mind:

 

The Timeline just means 'Do not RP anything beyond this point'. Training is done in Retro. Raising is done in Retro. All non-Mainplot RPs are done in Retro.

 

Retro basicaly means 'It happened at an indescript point in the past somewhere', every Div does it ^^
