Ahoy Mateys!

Hiya,

Just thought I'd introduce myself.

I'm 21 years old and live in Western Australia. (G'day to all the Aussies out there!;))I was born and raised in Scotland, the rest of my family is Irish, and I moved to Australia when I was 17- needless to say I have a really strange accent! I like socialising with my friends, partying or just hanging out, movies (foreign included), cooking (or trying to!), dancing, reading... and I suppose I'm a stereotypical girl in that I like shopping, shoes, handbags and pink glittery things. I married my husband at the end of last year so I'm having a great time being a newly wed and washing his socks :D

I've been reading WOT since about 2000, and I've read each book so many times I've lost count. I absolutely adore the series, the characters are all so well written I hate some with a vengeance and love others with a passion. I'm lookin to get more involved in the world I love :)

Uh... I can't really think of anything else to say right now so I'm gonna end it there.

Cheers guys!  ;)

Is Ahoy Mateys some kind of Aussie slang?  Or were you just channeling a pirate?  Did you squint your eye when you typed it out?  I would have...

Ummm.. soo... movies made me think of this org I know....  It's awesome cause every since member is an Aussie... or... not... but... if you join you will start a revolution to bring more Aussies to that org.  I am talking about Seanchan, DM's home for TV, Movies and Gaming discussions.. as well as more on our private board.

Welcome.

Welcome to DM!

You'll find a good many Scots and Aussies here (and a good mix of both at the Band of the Red Hand ORG! ;)). I'm English, and would love to go and see Scotland. Maybe in the New Year when I visit a friend up there when Wales take on Scotland in the 6 Nations Rugby (he has invited me up).

Enough on my future plans! Have a look around the site. There is a lot to do, and I am sure you will find something that tickles your fancy. If you get lost, want any help or have any questions, just ask and we'll help you out.

But whatever you do at DM, have fun! :)

Nope, I was just channeling a pirate. I love pirates. I didn't squint my eye, but I did say it aloud in my best pirate voice followed by a 'Yarrr'... however I did forget that I was in the middle of work... :-[

A good omen, channeling a pirate and all.  If I recall correctly, Dragonmount's anniversary falls on Talk Like a Pirate Day! *grins*

Anyhoo, be welcome, and explore all around.  Feel free to pester people with questions about anything; everyone here likes helping out.

Oooh ooh! Pick me, pick me! I mean, I'm an AWFUL greeter. I greet like, maybe one person per month. *nod*

And I'm even posting here for the sole purpose of getting picked by you, I'm not even greeting the person whose thread it is.

... Actually, I will greet this newbie, as she is an Aussie, and I have a thing for Aussies. Especially the men. There are three of them on my shelf (along with a Coloradan who wears an eye patch ^_~). I have a nice collection started.  ;D

So, hi! Welcome, my lovely Australian lass! I'm afraid I'm not such a fan of pink glittery things, but I am definitely down for some shopping. And shoes. Shoes are pretty awesome. If you wanna hang out, come by the Seanchan boards (ideally the private ones, which would necessitate you joining the Org, hint hint) and say hello. Actually, say more than hello, because if all you say is hello then no one will be able to tell if you're awesome or not, and that'd be a travesty. Hm, two big-ish words in one paragraph. I think I'll be done for now, let the slower folks have a chance to look those up.  8)
