I guess there could be possible spoilers up to book 8, so here is the warning..

And just to take up a little space ill rant a bit, Sorry if these questions have been asked before but i browsed around and didnt see anything, im sure some Staff member will come around and lock the topic and give me a link to some useless topic which wont answer my specific question but give info about the general idea... But i'm going to ask anyway.

By the way links that answer my specific question i always love to get.

Ok.. How did Moiraine know about Alviarin not being able to be trusted? Was that one of her questions in the Ter'angreal? How did she know about Asmodeon teaching rand?

Now for some fun questions :)

-Does anyone else think she is going to come back and find Lan bound to Nynaeve so she will just bond Thom?

-How do you think she will come back in AMOL? or do you think she will come back at all? ;)

And a random question, did anyone else get upset when asmodeon died? he was one of my favorite characters. :(

Spoilers up until KoD:

Ok.. How did Moiraine know about Alviarin not being able to be trusted? Was that one of her questions in the Ter'angreal?

She didn't know, or at least there's no reason to assume she knew Alviarin was Black Ajah. She suspected something was tricky with her, maybe even suspected she was a Darkfriend, due to the letter she sent to Rand. Any Aes Sedai would consider it unfathomable for one of their own to bend knee to a man who could channel, at least not willingly.

How did she know about Asmodeon teaching rand?

She was eavesdropping on them with the Power.

Now for some fun questions :)

-Does anyone else think she is going to come back and find Lan bound to Nynaeve so she will just bond Thom?

Thom would make a rather lame Warder. I don't think she's going to bond anyone else. In fact, I think she's going to die in aMoL.

-How do you think she will come back in AMOL? or do you think she will come back at all? ;)

She is coming back - that's pretty much a stated fact. She is currently trapped in the Tower of Ghenjei by the Aelfinn and Eelfinn, and Mat, Thom and someone else (possibly Jain Farstrider) are on their way to rescue her.

And a random question, did anyone else get upset when asmodeon died? he was one of my favorite characters. :(

Yes. I cried myself to sleep that night. I'm still upset about Jordan not revealing the killer, even though I pretty much know by now who he is.

Answers to your questions, at least my opinions:

1. Moirraine did nit trust any A.S. except for Suain. Alvarian showed herself to be even less likely to approve of Morraine's schemes then other A.S.:

2. She did not have prove positive, she surmised from the facts she knew that a, Rand was keeping the Gleeman around him for no obvious reason, b, Rand's ability seemed to be growing, suspected the gleeman to be at least a Darkriend , c., probably knew enough about the Forsaken to know that Asmo would have been the best choice (if not the only realistic one)to be tricked or forced into teaching Rand.

3. Lan is still bound to the Green Aides Sadie not Nyneave, but yes Morraine probably is not going to stand in Lan and Nyneave's way at this point in time.  Whether she Bonds Thom is questionable, all we can really even reasonably suspect is that Thom and her share a relationship not totally disclosed or understood and that if she ever gets married it will be to Thom:

4.She will be rescued by Mat, Thom and Farstrider:

5. Upset? No just disappointed. Asmo was a very interesting character and we could of learned so many things concerning the AOL from him that I was sad to see him go. But I see the necessity to have him killed off before Rand can learn a lot power about how to use the power.  If Rand had been able to squeeze every available piece of knowledge from Asmo Rand would have been a much more powerful force much earlier and that would have changed the entire dynamics of the story.

I think Aludra is going to be the third one on the rescue mission. We have Mat with his iron and Thom with his music, so all we need is somebody with fire, and Aludra seems most likely to me.

It's Jain Farstrider's cousin, Jain's probably dead.

Your two main questions have been answered. I just want to add that Alviarin is Keeper and they usually have the same views as the Amyrlyn or at least work together.

Noal claims he is Farstriders cousin, but from the books it seems quite clear that he is lying, and is in fact Jain Farstrider.

As for the third person to help rescue Moiraine, in her letter to Mat she said "and a man I dont know" or words to that effect. Judging from "Noals" appearance and interest in Mat, and his knowledge of prophecies and such like I would guess that he has a part to play. I reckon he will go with Mat and Thom ti rescue Moiriane.

/facepalm self

I cannot believe I missed that. "A man I do not know" were Moiraine's words exactly.

I still think that they're going to bring fire, music, and iron, though. It's the only way to fight the 'finn...

Maybe it's Mat who will bring the gunpowder and Noal (or whoever the third guy is, but it's probably Noal) who will bring the iron. Thom, of course, will provide music.

Courage to strengthen, fire to blind, music to dazzle, iron to bind. Thats gotta be my favorite mini-poem in Wheel of Time.

Ha thats my favourite to!

even though I pretty much know by now who he is.

really! i kno there are a million threads already debating who killed asmo but tell me who! those threads never really find out except just crush everyones theories. So tell me who u think!! :D

I can't believe i missed that Noal is Jain.

It's quite clear from the way he talks. While everyone praises the hero "Jain" Noal's the only one who speaks negatively of him. So its pretty much obvious.

However, why couldn't the third guy be Domon? After all, Mat needs Domon to find the Tower of Genghai (sorry spel)so doesnt it make sense that Domon is needed? I think this has been dicussed before but Majsju please dont come and lock this!!!

Domon is needed to find the Tower, and there are no restrictions on how many people that can tag along for that. He would not be the most useful once inside though, and he seems extremely unlikely to volunteer.

I can't believe i missed that Noal is Jain. What was he doing outside Carridin's place?

The same as Mat--he was spying on him. And with good reason, given who Carridin was.

She's never met him.

But why? Why is he hunting darkfriends?

Was that Noal/Jain? I always assumed it was Old Culley, the DF who Milli Skeens bowed down too.

me too- you're not alone

I also had my suspicions. Would explain how he was near Mat when the Gollum Attacked. He could have been turned by the Darkone and is now on a spy mission. Yes I know my theory has as many holes as swiss cheese but there is something strange about Noal/Jain that we have not been told about yet.

No. Carridan sees Mat speaking to the old man, but doesn't recognise him, yet he knows Old Cully--a fact we can figure out anyway, since Old Cully has only one eye, and no teeth, yet Mat describes the man clearly as having both eyes and a mouth with teeth--some missing mind, but some still there. Additionally in the old man's POV he makes references to his hands being broken, to his inability to hold a sword anymore, but his remaining skill with knives that had surprised any number of swordsman, and the holes in his memory--all things that Noal Charin directly comments on later on.

Nah, she never met him.

But why? Why is he hunting darkfriends?

It's who he is--aside from his natural inclination to seek adventure or right wrongs, he is still struggling with what Ishamael did to him. Read the paragraph, you can feel his desperation to understand. The same that drove him to help Mat, the same that drove him to sign up for the Moiraine rescue--it's who he is.
