Berelain vs Faile, the hawk and the falcon

well, so much for me hoping Faile ended up with Rolan, but now what? Can we actually believe that Berelain has given up on getting Perrin? He doesn't smell anything and so now he actually trusts her... too bad for him because that's gonna cause at least one big arguement with Faile.

what will happen? will there be a cat-fight? will a member of Cha Faile try (unsuccessfully) to assassinate Berelain? No, that option's too dumb. But besides Bela riding in to save the day where will Perrin end up?

I think that Faile and Berelain might actually end up friends. The reason Faile was always getting mad at Perrin was, because of just ignoring her he reacted to her. Faile wanted him to just ignore her like the insignificant trull she thinks of her to be. But by reacting to them Perrin, in Faile's eyes, was acting like Berelain's attempts were actually worth worrying about.

As long as Perrin doesn't try to convince faile he didn't do anything, he should be fine. And he must definitly not apologize. If he apologizes, he must have done something wrong, right...

Well, if she's gonna be mad anyway, might as well make sure she has something to be mad about

Now, don't tell my girlfriend I said that, might get me in trouble

I think the reason Perrin doesn't smell anyting from Berelain ringht now is that Berelain has temporarily given up the chase.

Berelain is the type who wants to "win" a man, she is not satisfied just to "get" him. So, while Faile was captured and "not in the game", Berelain did not pursue Perrin. Maybe it would have been too easy for her without Faile around...

But my guess is that she will start pursuing him again, now that Faile is back. Hopefully Perrin now has learned how to handle Berelain... but I doubt it.

I really don't think it's going to matter for much longer. We already know that Berelain is going to be taken by some man in white, and this thing with Perrin getting Faile back is, for the most part, over. So I don't see Faile and Berelain fighting in the next book, or at least not fighting for very long.

I Agree too but picture this ... Perin & co meet up with the whitecloaks, Berelain meets up with Galad (yup, this should happen!), Galad meets up with his morgaise, faile finds out that she's got the ex queen of andor as a servant and is embarrised as hell! yes!! carrying this on further ... perin & Galad AND Tam get back to Rand (somehow & somewhere .. this bit I have NO idea about). Rand is reunited with his Tam & his half brother (do you think RJ would give into this much sentiment? Is the answer yes but in a strong, silent way?)

I do think that galad ends up on Rand's side...another point of strength for the Light.

Berlain from the beginning was completely wrong for perrin. Had Perrin not choose faile. Berlaine would have had her way with perrin, then cast him out of her life.. *probably after he stopped being ta'var'en. Berliane is the kind of women who will do anything that could "profit her and her country" so to speak. She is used to getting her way with men. And when Perrin denied her, which no man has done. She quite simply became obsessed with him.

Faile and Perrin actually love each other.

The only problem is they are from two VERY different cultures. Faile isn't a "bitch" *sounds like witch* It's just there culture makes VERY strong women. Perrins Culture is used to women being very subtle in the way they control men, Failes women forcefully move men to there bidding. So obviously there are going to be troubles.

Crazy theory.

Galad's whitecloaks and Perrin's gang run into eachother. With galad as the new leader, Perrin find that he can actually talk to them, and after some talking he decides to join up and become a whitecloak. Faile gets mad at him and runs off, so Perrin, now dressed in white hooks up with Berelain...

Oh come on, you know you'd love RJ to pull something like that :D

Nah, I think Galad and Gawyn are gonna have to hit each other about a bit over Egwene.

In the mean time, I am *all* for Faile and Berelain knocking each other off. All you have to do is put them in a room together for an hour...maybe provide a weapon...it'll work.

couldn't happen to two nicer gals!

But I don't think Berelain really fancies Perin. It's just a game to her and he's the prize. She played all the harder because he responded so well! I think we'll find that she drops the game now but perhaps not before faile had a go at her. And then ... enter Galad!

yup. galad is over egwene - or realises he is when he meets berelain. and when he finds out about gawyn & egwene he's happy for them.

yes! berelain is going to make one big fool of herself! she'll be interested in him & he doesn't even see her ... given everything that's going on galad is a little preoccupied.

but this is only a side show of course.
