I've also had the thought that red on black has been mentioned often enough as Moridin's colors that this could indicate his presence at this prophecies fulfillment.  Incidently, I don't think that the reference to the dragon's blood as the aiel is at all unlikely, considering that the Aiel are linked to Rand's blood in a number of prophecies.

That would be pretty redundant don't you think.  I think that bleakness is the result of the slaying w/ the sword of peace, but when the aiel "take back their places of old,"as prophecized in the Aiel prophecies, they will return to the way of the leaf, and will attempt a singing of "The Song," or at least a variant of it.

IMO the dread fires and fires of heaven are references to the extended heat and drought that has wiped out food reserves wordwide.  The veil of parting is a reference to death, which seems to have been fulfilled with the arrival of random ghosts in randland.

Rand's comming.  Pretty sure that the breaking it speaks of is a metaphorical one, with Rand's schools and the political upheaval.

I agree completely with the veil of parting. IMO it is very obvious this is talking about the ghosts/spirits that have been wandering about. The cutting of hope is in my opinion the discovery on how to heal being severed/gentled. I also think that twice dawns the day is a reference to a solar eclipse.

My guess is the only thing which would cause the sky to darken to night in the middle of the day is a whole lot of DO getting through the Bore.

Are we talking about different occurances on a day that dawns twice, or could it be the same thing happening on two different days.

I think it is one day. Looking at the grammar I would definately say it is one day. It does mention the moon it just is something you might miss. Besides if there was no moon why would there be a daughter of the nine moons?  ;D

I have often wondered on this one, particularly on the 'oaths' and 'ties' bit - could this be the Aes Sedai? Already we have a group of  'Aes Sedai' who have not taken the Oaths (Egwene, Nynaeve, Elayne, Siuan, Leane, Theodrin, Faolain). And already we see turmoil and strife within the White Tower proper, with Ajah's keeping to themselves - 'ties' between friends have been broken.

I'm not sure on this one, Power of the Shadow made human flesh... the human bit makes me think it's not Shaidar Haran, although he does seem to be 'the power of the shadow in flesh'. The second line suggests it's someone coming new to the world, being 'wakened', unless of course it is meaning waking from the dreamless sleep they have been in.

 

Given the following lines, I think that the first line is referring to Lanfear.

 

"...dances the sword in dreams and mist, chains the Shadowsworn to his will" - i agree that this is most likely talking about Asmodean (the Rhuidean reference) but what makes me suspicious is that Rand DIDNT chain Asmodean to him - Lanfear did.

 

EDIT: could it be Mordeth? I can't remember his history but he was first seen in Shadar Logoth, which is certainly in ruin, turmoil and strife (or was, before the cleansing).

The first two lines are referring to the heatwave which Elayne and Nynaeve ended with the Bowl of the Winds.

The third line I assume is referring to the fact that eventually, we are going to run out of soldiers to send into battle. The hours that we have left to fight before TG will dwindle, TG WILL come.

 

I think that the 'wall' it refers to is more the wall between life and death, the buffer between 'us' and 'the dead' is quite often referred to as a veil. I have always assumed it means that barrier between the living and the dead may not be as solid as it is at present. We know Rand has to die, and live again, that he will likely spill his blood on Shayol Ghul etc. It could refer to the Horn, and the Heroes returning - they are dead but they will fight at TG.

 

 

The unstained tower breaks and bends knee to the forgotten sign.  OBVIOUS   WAS DUMAIS WELLS ENOUGH OR MUST THE TOWER ITSELF SWEAR?

 

I think it is an ongoing process. I dont think Egwene will ever 'swear' to Rand, not in the way the others have but I think the WT will be well and truly cowed by the 'forgotten sign'. I have always assumed this to be Rand's sign but I have wondered recently if it is the symbol of a male/female Tower; i think it is highly likely that the BT and the WT will join.

 

What was exalted is cast down; IS THIS THE CRYSTAL THRONE OR COULD IT BE SULDAM (I THINK THE FORMER) what was cast down is raised up.  COULD THIS BE DAMANE OR PERHAPS MORE LIKELY TUON AS NEW EMPRESS

Order burns to clear his path. COULD THIS HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH EMPRESS KILLED OR WITH LORD OF CHAOS

 

I'm not sure either, the 'order' bit does seem to be a very obvious contrast to Chaos, which has prevented Rand from getting too far ahead.

 

I have wondered if 'Seanchan' as it stands will be cast down, or the Correnne at least, and Manetheren will be raised again, but I think it is more likely that it refers to the 'East and North / West and South' (bet I've got those the wrong way around!) connections, which will bring order.

Rand, I think. He does have a habit of thinking he can do 'anything'. Especially when he's holding Callandor.

There is another prophecy which discusses Isam and Luc, and refers to them as the 'Hunt', but I think this does indeed refer to the Darkhounds. We've already seen them.

washing away the Shadow, sacrifice for man’s salvation.

 

The first line of this one is 'Red on Black...'

I think that this IS Rand's physical blood, but I have read theories before that 'blood' could refer to the Aiel. If i remember rightly, the Algai'd'siswai (sp) wear red headbands, with the Dragon symbol on the front.

 

 

The wonderful thing about Prophecies is that, although we will know for certain sooner or later, in the meantime we can pretty much make them say whatever we want them to say!

[RAND AL THOR]

Twice and twice shall he be marked,twice to live, and twice to die

 

I think this means that Rand will be dead (in some way-most likely Tarmon Gaidon) when the sun rises (ie.dawn). Afterwards there will be an eclipse and the Dragon shall return to life. This is also most likely linked to the Lews Therin in his head idea. I personally believe that after the eclipse, Lews Therin will be gone forever and Rand will be himself. There is also the possibility that when Rand dies, he does so after sealing the bore or whatever he does to end the war, and he returns to life after the war is officially over since the DO would then be sealed. Interesting wouldnt u say?

NOTE: no eclipse has occured so far in the series, suggesting that eclipses may have special effects on channeling etc in Randland. This is just a theory though.
