This is great news. Hopefully being made into a TV series instead of a movie will keep the story more intact and not leave out or change to much. Though change is inevitable, I suppose.

Will have to keep a close eye on this one.

Even Sam Raimi's cheese is usually worth a laugh.  The cheese usually doesn't take itself too seriously, like the Evil Dead series, sure the first one tried to be legitimate, but the comic genius that was Army of Darkness sprang out of it.

That being said, I never read or was terribly interested in SoT, so this might be a way for me to see whats going on without having to invest too heavily in it.

As far as it being an indicator for WoT coming to any screen, I'm sure the attention SoT will get will generate some interest, but ultimately Harriet will have to make that call.  I don't think that WoT will translate to screen especially well given how character and dialogue driven it is.

Oh and Maj, I have my wisdom teeth if you want to get cracking. ;)

Oh Maj.... so cynical.  Do you need a hug?

If hating goofkind is cynical, I'm proud to be one.

Could use a hug though, but perhaps from someone a wee bit more womanly. Your skinny ass just ain't that fondlefriendly ;)

Well I liked the books, not loved, but liked quite well.  It got a little corny in some places but I thought the story held up quite nicely.  At least the story didn't get bogged down in such details that the story never moved along.... what?

"Gratch lurve Richard" *g*

Isn't SoT the novel that many have accused him of practically plagerising, far more then say, the guy who did a song of fire and ice (or is it ice and fire? I can never remember) or RJ did LOTR, but more so to the point that people say 'hey now!'?

Aka, his idea is so unoriginal is borderline plagerism?

About the only good thing about this is that Goodkind will undoubtedly hate it... pompous ass.

I can just see him sitting there watching the Raimi cheese and going 'but... but... this is an intellectual masterpiece! It is changing the world! It isn't fantasy! What have you done? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?"

In my mind thats when he explodes and everyone bursts into dance. In fact, i think Bollywood have already made a movie of it.

I have coffee coming out my nose from laughing too hard.  Thanks Luckers.  I've seen a few interviews and transcripts where he goes off about that.  He ought to look to the likes of Ayn Rand who simply acknowledged that her fiction was her philosophy in story form, but that didn't increase its value over other fiction.

Are you thinking Lord of the Dance style dancing, or more of an Indian dance montage to fit the Bollywood theme.
