Who know Mat blew the Horn?

The Fade that is about to kill Mat in TSR says "Time to die, Hornsounder"

That more than inplies that the Shadow knows Mat blew the horn, something which shouldn't be know by more than a handful of people, none of which are DFs.

Moraine

Verin

Suian

Rand

Perrin

Faile

Hurin

Nynaeve

Elayne

Egwene

Doesn't make sense so I must be missing something?

I bet Hurin said it to Agelmar, who again said it to Easar. No proof of it, but I bet they know. Min probably also knows, and maybe even Uno and the other Shienarians that were there.

Ishamael could probably know, who knows if he was lurking in the woods before he battled Rand in the skies.

I have only read the norwegian version, but there Ishamael belives it is Rand, or he do atlast tell him so when they battle in the skies.

I apologize my poor English.

Hurin must have told, Elayne was surprised at what they did know and Hurin would probably see no need to keep anything back.  No one but Rand knew Ingtar was a Darkfriend and he wouldn't tell a soul so Hurin would logically assume someone that high can't be a darkfriend.  One of the other borderlanders, not saying it's Bashere, is probably a DF.

When did Elayne, Nyneave, and Faile find out? Birgitte does know but decides to keep his secret, after all he's keeping her secret as well? I believe she says that "you sounding the Horn is the least of the secrets your keeping from them" implying that they don't know. Perrin would most likely tell Faile that the horn was sounded but not neccesarily(sp?) by who, unless asked of course. I don't remember it being mentioned that Faile knew. Meh, probably wrong, but I had to ask.

Egwene, Elayne and Nyneave all indicate that they know in their conversations with Suian Sanche in TDR before Mat is healed from his link with the dagger.

Perrin let it slip to Faile in Illian the Mat blew the Horn of Valere.

Did Leanne Sharif know Mat blew the Horn?  She was in on the Healing and Suian was sure she could trust her.

Elayne and Nynaeve travelled from Falme with Verin, Mat, Hurin and the Horn. And they must have seen the Heroes in Falme. The slightest slip of the tongue from any of the three who knew what happened should be enough for them to put the pieces together.

I should have been a little more clear.

This read through I'm playing a game called "Spot the Dark Friend" so I'm looking for anomalies like this one.

True Birgitte knows what Mat is but she is quite obviously not a DF.

It is possible that a random series of events "off camera" as it were, led to the Shadow knowing about Mat but that doesn't feel right.

It is possible that someone close to Rand has been turned and may be acting without their own knowledge (If you've seen Angel Heart with Mickey Rourke you know what I'm talking about) but that is out of character for the entire series and therefore highly improbable.

Someone is talking out of turn and that person is a Darkfriend and I want to know who it is.

Elayne, Egwene, Nynaeve, and Rhuarc all found out together when Moiraine told them at the end of TDR in the Stone.  In TDR, ch 56, Moiraine says, to Mat, in the presence of those four:

"You are ta'veren, Mat, a thread more crucial to the Pattern than most, and the sounder of the Horn of Valere."

Nynaeve was sad, Egwene and Elayne were shocked, and Rhuarc had "respect in his eyes".  By their reactions, none of them knew until right them.  I've also thought that was an oddly loose-tongued moment for Moiraine ... it could be as simple as a Darkfriend spying on them during that conversation.

I agree, though, that Hurin is the most likely loose thread here.  He would have felt obligated to report, and we have presumptive evidence that his reports caused some strife in the Borderlands.  Even if Hurin didn't tell a Darkfriend directly (by accident, I would presume) if would be much, much easier for the Shadow to spy on his conversations, even with Agelmar or Easar.
