..Stuck In The Mud..

Did you ever play Stuck In The Mud when you were younger? ;D  If so, what were the rules? Because, as I recall, from when I first played it:

One person is It.

That person has to tag the other people in the game. When they are tug/tagged, they stand with their arms apart.

For another player to free one of the others, they run under an arm.

When all players are 'stuck in the mud', the person who was It is no longer It.

The person who was stuck in the mud first is then It.

...

Then, the rules changed. People had to run twice under both arms. The person who was last to be stuck in the mud was It at the end. That, I always thought, wasn't fair.  :P

 

What were the rules when/if you played it?

Lol yeah we had a game called that but there were no defined rules and such.  It was like blob tag-where everyone who gets tagged by the"it" person tagged (often wrestling into the mud) these people joined hands or elbows and attached and attached until only one person is left-the winner.  Only this game is played in actual mud.... ;)

In my childhood this was known as Freeze Tag. And the rules varied between years at school, I can't say that I recall the variations all that well though...

sounds like freeze tag to me... you can make up as many variations as you want, i think.

Yes, I think some people called it that, as well.

When I was a small lad freeze tag meant you stayed frozen until someone not it tagged you, thus unfreezing you.

 

Stuck in the mud, they had to crawl between your legs.

 

What methods did you use to find the first person to be it.

 

My fav was tapping out someone useing the bubble gum method.
