Sign up Thread for Trial run, of Detective/Serial Killer based game.

Over the past few days I've been going over this idea in my head, wrote it down, and I'd like to trial run this concept.

I would like to get at least 15-20 players, the more the better.

Heres all you need to know for now.

-Innocent who oppose the killer.

-Innocent who sympathise with the killer.

-Ex-convicts

-Detectives.

-Killer.

 

Killer have to use the players name he wants to kill in a post anywhere in dm. (except hidden boards)

Everyone votes to reveal a players role (innocents/ex-cons)

Killer may only kill innocents and detectives.

Detectives can only kill the killer. Killing the wrong person, forfiets there own life.

This is just the basics of the game, for those who find the above interesting concept.

 

Like I said, I'm wanting to get at least 15-20 people to sign up for this trial run of this game, The trial is to try out the game mechanics to see if the 'username posting' is to over powered, or to weak for a game. If we get enough players, I will start a new thread linked at the end of this thread, and an expanded version and possibly clearer concept of the game.

Sure you can play, it just doesn't mean you'll necissarilly be a roled player. :P

If there are enough players, I would like to get 1 detectives, 1 Killer, 4 innocents, 8 Sympathizers, and 8 Ex-cons. (Thats 20 players, as the killer/detective, are in innocent/symps category)

Something else thats sorta a trial, is the number of innocents to symps to excons to detectives to killers...

Never intended to hand pick people, was going to do it random, even if I didn't say I was..

But there is still the possibility you could be roled, but highly unlikely. + if theres only 1 detective, its highly doubtful, you'd be one anyways. 'or the killer!' :P

Well it does sound interesting but I'm not sure I get it... At least everyone else will also be pretty new to the game.  If I'm allowed to do this one and the Vampire one then I'll try it.

Metagaming as some have coined it is frowned upon, however thats only for your benefit, so you don't go laying suspicions from one game unto another.

This game Is goin to be Fast. I have rules set up to make sure that if voting doesn't happen within a set period of time, the next phase starts and the reveal is automatic/random (or highest vote). Detectives/killers are on a similar time frame.

 

So, basically if your interested, and you think you can handel 'meta-gaming', sign up, but You might also want to ask the mod of the game your currently playing if its alright.

on a side note, seeing how this is just a trial of the game, there won't be any fancy-pantsy 30 page long descriptions of the deeds that went down during the phases, or any in-depth story. However, if the game is balanced enough, and other such variables work out, then the 'non-trial' will have a little bit of a story behind it. ^_^

Instead of everyone voting to lynch one person, everyones voting to reveal whether someones innocent, or an ex-con.

Killers kill ex-cons. killer = innocent, thus, detective kill a single innocent. Every move you make is helping one side and hurting the other. There is no harm or foul if you were to reveal an innocent or an ex-con, that just moves the game forward one more step closer to the killer winning or the detectives winning.

Thats about as simply as I can state the basics of the game.

Only the detectives will know whom each other are. Other then that, no one will know who any one else is.
