Wait, I'm confused as to why Rufae is confirmed innocent...can only innocents use the bonestone? I don't think I really saw any reasoning behind proclaiming Rufae innocent...unless I missed it, and if that is the case I apologize in advance.

FDM, it goes like this, Rufae used the bonestone to check on Kivam, if he was evil, he'd already know who was innocent. It doesn't confrim absolutely that he's innocent, for example it could be a ploy. I think he's innocent because it's the simpler explaination. I think if he were guilty he'd have held on to that piece of bonestone and never used it, we'd never know he had it, and that would've kept it out of one of our hands.

OR he could be evil, and checked on Kivam in hopes that he was a roled innocent, and it would give the bad guys a heads up. The fact is, it doesn't matter who got the bonestone, good or bad--they are going to use it. As a good guy, it wouldn't do him any good to hang onto it, and it would be the same if he were a bad guy, since he obviously wouldn't check one of his fellow bad guys. And if he were bad, who cares if he exposes a roleless innocent, if he has a chance at nabbing someone with a role? Either way, it makes no sense to hang onto the bonestone, and not use it.

SooOOooo, there is no reason to 'assume' that Rufae is a good guy. I'm not saying that he is good or bad either way, but I think it a little extreme to just toss someone into the innocent side simply because they used a piece of bonestone on another player --as it is supposed to be used--.

Hax: Holy random vote, Batman!  :o

Griefy emerges dripping wet from her [glow=red,2,300]swim[/glow] and supresses a groan at the cliff in front of her. As she readies herself to [glow=red,2,300]climb[/glow] she is glad of one thing: that she decided to leave her coat behind for the sake of the swim. Hauling herself up this cliff with that dripping weight pulling at her would have been a strain she could do without. Reaching the foot of the cliff she glimpses a shadow soar over the top of it and wheel around to the east with a flap of enormous wings. Keeping absolutely still she waits there and prays silently that it didn't spot her. After several tense minutes she lets out a long, shuddering gasp of relief and begins to climb. Several more times she flattens herself against the cliff as some sound - real or imagined - recalls that menacing shadow to her mind. Finally she gains the top and pokes her head gingerly above the rim. The way into the jungle is clear, but there are signs of a mad scurry to enter the green depths. Grief's sense of unease increases. Reckoning that the enormous bird-creatures couldn't follow her into the dense jungle, she hauls herself up over the rim and makes a break for the green wall. As she gains the cool shade a darker shadow clashes against the dense jungle wall with the angry cry of a thwarted predator. Not willing to trust a clump of bushes with her life, Griefy stumbles further in until the thrashing ceases. Reassured by the unbroken canopy and the unconcerned chatter of the monarocats, she stops for a quick breather. It is no great challenge to follow the trail of so many people, and so she sets off with an eye to speed rather than caution.

The first thing she does upon catching up with the group is try not to goggle at the fortune in bonestone that has been uncovered, more than a little annoyed that she had not been party to its discovery. Some good this would do her reputation. "I had a bad lobster at port. That was all it was. Damn you all! Don't you look at me like that, I don't get seasick! It was the meal!" Snarling with blistering eloquence at the adventurers who who were giving her knowing looks, Griefy swipes Rufae's rum. When he protests she holds up a finger. "Just one swig. One and I won't vote for you for ... oh, let's say ... today." And with that, she suits her word.

[glow=red,2,300]Unvote Rufae[/glow].

In other news, so glad to be alive, and what's this? I get back after a week, wade through twenty pages of reading, and it's still ... day one?  :-\ I hate you all so very much right now... *collapses*

    The group is somewhat stunned by the events that have unfolded. Two pieces of bonestone have already been found and used. Thieves are among the group. It feels like you were just getting the lay of the land, and then this news hits like a lightning bolt. No assassins have been revealed. Was it worth it? Or is it just another example of the fate of man to wield power simply because he can? Only time will tell.  Barm has wandered off into one of the tunnels searching for the right bonestone for the witch. A few of you are talking about the day’s events when somebody wonders what that strange sound is echoing through the chamber. It almost sounds like the faintest pulse….

    Loki runs into the main chamber, out of breath. “It’s drums. It’s coming from the inland side of the ridge.”

   Two things flash into your mind: You should not waste any time finding the witch’s bonestone and the spot between your shoulder blades itches because innocents have been revealed, leaving them that much more vulnerable to an assassin. Barm probably knows a lot more about what those drums mean. Where is he?

*PAY ATTENTION TO THE STATS PAGE!. IT CAN HIGHLIGHT CHANGES AND UPDATES IN THE GAME. VOTING TO LYNCH AN ASSASSIN WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL RIGHT NOW. DIFFICULT TIMES ARE AHEAD.*

Current Game Vote Count:

[glow=red,2,300]Rufae ( 4 ) [/glow]– Barm, Cloud, Talya, Ilgross

[glow=red,2,300]Loki ( 4 )[/glow] – Cleo, Jackdaw, Rufae, Sinister

[glow=red,2,300]Jaydena ( 1 )[/glow] – Kivam

[glow=red,2,300]Toy ( 1 )[/glow] – climb

[glow=red,2,300]Danya ( 1 )[/glow] – swim

[glow=red,2,300]SinsterDeath ( 2 ) [/glow]– Hax, Loki

With 19 players, it takes 11 votes to lynch

And you wonder why this is my first 'mafia' game at dm? Because everyone votes for me based on my name, not on any actual evidence to the contrary.

Anyways, My vote still stands for Loki.

My name may sound 'evil' but Loki, in Norse mythology is a 'known' trickster, as well as the father of Fenfir, the creature that devours the sun during Ragnarok.

So really, if your going to vote based on names, why not loki?

Someone with a name that 'sounds' evil, or a name that is known to be a trickster, as well as the father of 'evil' creatures?

[glow=red,2,300]Climb[/glow]ing the cliff with his extremely sore and tired body CloudCrono wonders how he could have gotten so lost in the water on the way here.  As he ponders this thought he sees GoodGrief finish the climb and scramble over the top.  Several seconds later, as he is nearing the top himself, he hears loud sounds of violence and terror.  Calling upon strength he didn't know he had he finishes the climb to see the monstrous winged terror thrashing, just above the pathway, at the canopy of a jungle path that GoodGrief must have scrambling into.  Knowing that the winged terror is focussed only on his prey, CloudCrono, with the skill that only comes with years of swordsmanship, draws his sword and performs heron wading the rushes on the creatures back.  The creature know oozing its life fluid turns and flees in anger.  "Not even a killing stroke he mutters sadly.  Their hide must be incredibly thick."  With this statement he realizes that the group didn't flee from just one.  He plunges into the jungle following the trail that GoodGrief has so clearly left behind.

    Upon exiting the jungle he realizes that there is some rhythmic drumming coming from somewhere on the island and hastens his pace even faster.  When he arrives he finds the whole group looking shocked that he is still alive.  "Did you hear that drumming?" as the crew confirms his thoughts on the matter he asks the next inevitable question "Where's Barm?"

Sorry guys I apparently missed alot between sat night and today.  I'm back again.

Sinsister:  I didn't mean it that your name itself was screaming at me, but...like...I don't know, I have bad vibes.  Just seeing your name up there, nothing to do with the fact that your name has Death or Sinister in it, you know what I'm saying?  Anyway, like it jumped at me.  Yeah.

Ok FDM if you were an assassain you wouldn't use the bonestone to figure out who was innocent because you would know who the innocents area already.  It doesn't make sense to use it for that reason.  Now if you were evil you could use the bonestone on one of your own team to make you seem more innocent.  That could be a good strategy depending on the game.  Anyway, I agree with your point that an asassain may want to expose a person with a role.

With this in mind, the Rufae's action of using the bonestone doesn't appear to make him any less innocent in my eyes.

I just wanted to clear up this because it sounded like to me you were assuming that assassins don't know who is innocent.

At the sound of the drums, you will know that the Jaorlin tribesmen have noticed the unusual activity of the Sinta Detts, and know that the group has invaded their land. Their retribution will be swift, without mercy, and multiple members of the group will die if you wait longer than a day to escape.

the witch has forseen two futures: one where 18 members return to the beach to be rescued, and one where 14 members return to the beach to be rescued.  the group is still in charge of their own destiny

I have the piece of bonestone for the witch, no fears.

Also, why would an evil person use the bonestone? To use it up. That way you don't have to worry about a thief showing up and taking it, or doing something that might accidently end up in its being rehidden.

I will [glow=red,2,300]unvote:Rufae[/glow]

Blow Rufae's innocent cred outta the water and then unvote him? I suppose we really don't have time to stop and lynch anyone right now. I feel a Russian Roullette action coming on ... Here's a question: from where will the tribesmen likely approach?

I believe we have to leave VERY soon if we want to all get out alive. Thats the impression that I get from that message.

But I do believe the choice is indeed ours. If we wait too long, only 14 will survive.

If you look at page one, it shows which ar ein play and which are not. If you see the piucture of them on page 1, then they are not in play.

So we gotta lynch someone fast or 4 random players are gonna die?

kk the next most after Rufae is [glow=red,2,300]Loki[/glow]

Sorry if your innocent man, but even if you are 1 > 4

Can someone remind me, please, why they are going after loki?  Didn't it start out as just a random vote, then boom?

At least I have bad vibes coming from SD.

Hmmmm.....
