[glow=red,2,300]Climb[/glow]? Light but my arms are tired from swimming already! *Jaydena squares her shoulders and [glow=red,2,300]climb[/glow]s the cliff, reaching the top in good time.* I also vote [glow=red,2,300]Kivam[/glow] as he would like to do it!

[glow=red,2,300]Swim[/glow]<i>ing like mad Dbob reaches the beach, swearing distractedly under his breath...

"First the **%^$**((  Prates check my baggage through to god knows where, then the *&^%#^$^^^$ boat sinks, who's running this *&*^*&*&*&& outfit anyway"</i>

[glow=red,2,300]Climb[/glow]<i>ing, the cliff the muttering get's even more colorful, &&%*^*$&*& all my climbing gear was in my bags.  *&*&*7 &*!!@@#  @#@$**87*@*#$*  &&%^&&$*@## Pirates, you'd think they of all people would know how to keep an eye on someone's bags."

Reaches top of Cliff

"OH! Hello all, sorry I'm late, you would not believe the time I had getting here."</i>

Sooooooooo..... Kivam wants to rush off into the face of certain, well at least 50/50 death does he. Well [glow=red,2,300]Kivam[/glow], Cheerio, off with you. Try to scream loud enough if you run across something unpleasant. Now who has water. I'm very thirsty after all that exertion.

BTW Would it be possible to differentiate between a secondary [glow=red,2,300]Vote[/glow] and a [move]vote[/move] to lynch someone.

It seems we have a scout.

The group gathers and compliments Kivam on his bravery. There are a few who secretly wonder if the tales told of the Ryndull are true, but then, they are not the ones who are going to find out.

*KIVAM HAS BEEN VOTED AS THE SCOUT. KIVAM, PLEASE CONFIRM YOUR CHOICE OF PATHS*

Rufae stumbles into the clearing with the others, and runs into the back of Dbob which promptly sets off another string of *^%*%$@#$@#$ .

"Ch'orry Mate!" Rufae applogizes profusely. "I forrw'd your speeeech all t'way to the top..." he appears to just notice the rest of the group. "Ooooh hi there.... SO what's going on? I had to [glow=red,2,300]shwim[/glow] to git here and then [glow=red,2,300]climb[/glow] up this blighshted cliff. If it weren't fer the ramblins of Dbob, I wood n'ver havvvve made it. A'buddy seen some pinapples or coconuts? Anything tha goes with me rum?"

He suddenly notices Kivam checking his gear before going into the jungle. "Oh how kind of sh'you, sure! Bring back some whittle umbrell'fa's if you find any."

Finding the nearest log, he plops down and begins to count his toes.

I would sugjest the forest.... Sure the toads are dangerous... but you can just imagine whats in the other place... They probably told you the forest's creature, to trick you into going to the other place.

Though, they could have thought that you would have thought they were trying to trick you... :P

Waking up late, Far looks about confused. Did she seriously sleep through everything? Jumping up in a rush, she runs to see the rest of the group rowing ahead of her. Diving into the water, she [glow=red,2,300]swims [/glow] like a madwoman to the boat, only to see it break. Swimming some more, she finally catches up to the group, gets the dish duty, and begins to [glow=red,2,300]climb [/glow] the cliff, gasping dramatically for breath...

Sorry I've been absent. Had some unexpected things happen. I'm here now though, and ready to be active. Good luck, Kivam!

Kivam sets out, munching on died beef.  It's not as good as dried beef, but the pretty colors are interesting, even if the spelling is off.

So, am I dead or what?

    Three cheers for Kivam!

The group is gathered on the crest of the hill. To the left runs the trail that skirts the cliffs. Below you is the trail that dips through the jungle valley and back up to the bonestone cliffs. Kivam fiddles with a few straps about his pack and prepares to take the trail into the jungle. He looks back to the group with a knowing gleam in his eye.

"Everything we know about these creatures points to the fact that they are nocturnal, so if I move quietly through the jungle, they should be none the wiser. Then the rest of you can follow."

He pulls out a polished silver disc.

" As soon as I make it to the other side, and up to that ledge ," he points across the jungle valley to the cliffs on the other side, "I’ll use this to signal you. It’s what we use in the Arbor when distance and wind keep us out of earshot. If you see one flash and count to ten before another flash, then it is safe to come through. If you see three quick flashes and then a ten count, do not come through the jungle. Two flashes means come, but be very cautious. Give me a few hours and then look for my signal."

With an air of confidence he turns and heads down the trail. Everyone finds a comfortable spot to wait for Kivam’s signal  Kivam makes his way easily down the trail. The jungle grows thicker the further into the valley he descends and before long he is enveloped by lush greenery on all sides and the canopy above. His confidence fades just a bit as he realizes that the thick vegetation above has created a ceiling that blocks out the majority of the sun. Instead of the bright rays of day, the jungle floor exists in a perpetual emerald twilight; the highest branches of the trees criss cross above, forming the ceiling of a jungle cathedral. Sudden movement in his peripheral vision catches Kivam off guard. He stares into the half light looking for the creature and hears something scrabbling in the tree above him.  He looks up and is starring into the eyes of….something. It has four legs, iridescent plumage and a beak. A feathery tuft extends over its head and a scaly tail extends behind it. Kivam relaxes. It’s only a Monaracat. He has seen domesticated versions in the market, albeit smaller domesticated versions. Then the thought strikes him that they had only considered the Ryntull as a potential threat, and deduces that the relatively small creature cannot be the apex predator of this jungle.  He looks around the alien environment hoping to spot signs of other creatures. Several Monaracats have gathered above him and follow his progress. Again movement catches his eye. This time it’s high above. A huge shadow filters through the tops of the trees, a shadow with a wingspan that has to be twenty feet across or more. It flies directly over, and heads straight for the cliffs where the group is waiting.  There is nothing he can do but hurry. Kivam breaks into a run, forgoing caution for speed, hoping to be able to flash the danger signal to the group in time. He reaches the opposite edge of the jungle and scrambles up the hill to a point where he will have a view of the other cliff. He turns to see three huge, black birds circling above the c;iffs where the others are waiting.  He realizes that those birds were waited for him on the cliff trail.  All he can do now is reach the ledge and give the the safe signal.

The group dozes, catching up on rest from the swim and the climb. Barm passes around a tasty flatbread for everyone to enjoy. Someone complains about there being no chocolate, but you can’t quite make out whom. The first hour passes, then the second. Then you hear a shout. It’s Sinister calling the group over to the edge facing the sea. He points to a spot on top of a cliff some distance away. “Do you see it?” You look, and you do see it. It’s a massive nest, the size of the deck on the Maiden’s Folly. “I would very much like to not know what lives there.” Everyone is now staring at the nest. Behind you, Barm says “Too Late”.

You turn around and see the huge black bird flying over the jungle and straight for the group.  Two more are behind it.

Kivam reaches the ledge, which hides a cave not visible from the other side of the valley. He immediately begins flashing the safe signal “Come on! They won’t follow you into the jungle! Run!”

After flashing for a good long time, he puts the disc away and heads into the cave. Which, he realizes, is full of bonestone.

The group sees the signal and makes a dash for the jungle path. When everyone is safely beneath the jungle canopy you stop to catch your breath. Barm speaks up “I hpe that the others don’t get caught climbing up the cliff wall. They will make easy targets. Try to stay with the group.” You realize that Cloud, Griefy, and Ilgross have still not joined the group. Hopefully hey will be able to track you without becoming a tasty snack.  You move through the jungle and have all of the same realizations that Kivam did. There are many Monaracats now, looking at you with quizzical expressions. Finally you break through to the opposite end of the valley and climb up to meet Kivam in the cave. He has already gathered several pieces of Bonestone. He smiles. “Glad you all could make it. Which one of these do you think the witch wants!”

*KIVAM LIVES AND HAS LED YOU DIRECTLY TO A RICH SOURCE OF BONESTONE.  THERE ARE MANY CAVES TO BE EXPLORED. I HAVE HIDDEN A SECOND PIECE OF BONESTONE ON THE THREADS. SEARCH FOR THE TWO PIECES IN PLAY AS YOU VOTE TO LYNCH.*

Yep.  Rufae, you're the target du jour.  Do you have anything to say that might save you? For the rest of us, I suggest we let him talk before anyone moves to finish him off.  No need to rush it.

*swigs off his rum* Well I could tell yall that I 'm innocent, but at this stage, that doesn't matter. I could make a spectacular case against someone else, but we don't know enough about anyone's actions yet to really case them. I could say that I do have something to offer, that could be used for good or evil, but who would believ me? *belch* :P

BTW, your "for good or for evil" routine is worrying me.  Want to be clearer?
