MAFIA - The Suras Hunt [Game Thread]

    Hand over hand; you finally reach the top of the cliff. The muscles in your arms, legs, and backs are screaming and you collapse as soon as you reach level ground. You look around and notice Loki, also collapsed and still breathing heavily. You get a mischievous grin before you look to see who else is here. SinisterDeath is explaining something to Talya; you catch the word “flying” more than once. Danya, Vemy and Jackdaw. Kivam, Cleo, Delenn and Hax.  You saw Toy, Cloud, and Jaydena on the beach after swimming ashore, so they must still be climbing. You don’t know what happened to the rest, but they are all hardy souls and you are sure that they will make it.  Barm is a small distance in front of the group. Sitting on his heels and studying the trail ahead He stands, walking over to the side of the cliff that everybody has just topped and looks down.

    “Hmm. Looks like we have a little time before the rest of the group arrives.”

He whisks a Sinta blade out of its scabbard and uses the pommel to draw in the sand.

    “We are here. If you look over to the East, you see more cliffs. That’s where we are headed. Below is the drop off into the Jungle. We want to reach those cliffs, find the bonestone and then get back to that beach. The Captain will send more boats when we don’t arrive on time, so we don’t have to swim back.”

He looks at everyone with a wicked smile.

    “There’s just one problem: which trail to take. The easiest way is to stick to the top of these cliffs. But to do that, we risk bumping into a Jaorlin scout party and provoking an attack. There is another pass, but we have to drop into the jungle for a short time, which is dangerous because of what I suspect is nesting there. There is no way to know for sure without scouting, so someone will have to go for a look.  That choice will be yours, I have strict orders to let you decide your path, else the entire mission will fail and all will be lost. You can wait until the rest of the group shows up, but I’ll warn you that the Jaorlins send scouts out regularly and if we wait too long, one is bound to show up.  Your best bet is to come to a decision and move forward.”

im going to with hold my vote for now, im thinking rufae, as at this point he doesnt really have nothing to lose by it, but im going to mull this over a bit first, before being unentish :P

Here's what I think this beast just might be:

 

Ryntull - The Ryntull has a frog shaped body, can jump, and a membrane that stretches from foreleg to back leg allowing it to glide short distances. It's hands and feet are taloned, not webbed, and lives in trees, not water.  It's head is a cross between a bat and a lion, with huge luminous eyes. It is covered is short, glossy brown fur with yellow rosettes (picure the opposite of a Jaguar's hide. It nests in the tops of trees in the tropical jungles and is a meat eater.

A bat would be strictly nocturnal. This creature is not a bat. That is also virtually all the information I have on it.
