Alys - Yep, her explanation satisfied me.  Now I'm just waiting for Loki to show - if he's still planning on playing (I've never seen him take this long before posting  :D )

No deadline that I know of, though I'd be happy to see Cleo lynched before we have more random deaths

hmm thank you for that Kivam. I must say Talya (a confirmed innocent) voting for Sin after Sin had placed a couple of random votes and pilling onto Loki.

Talya then died night 1. While she stood a good chance of this anyways because everyone knew she was innocent I think it bares keeping in memory for later.

After all, Talya was dead on with her vote for Dbob.

If I were an assassin, (which i'm not, not like this'll convince anyone anyways) I would have killed loki, not tayla... also... Tayla voted to lynch me?

Griefy, I did Hax awhile ago--he was my first one. I'm not sure of the page.

I've been meaning to do Loki for awhile now, but as he has so many posts in the game, it's daunting. And unfortunately it's more time saving to just start at page one in the thread, then to find his most recent posts, since for every one post he makes here, he makes 20 others somewhere else... ;D LOVING the Alts right now, btw. ;)

Vem, Loki, and Sin are the ones I am currently working on. I'm trying to multitask. :)

Woot! I wanna read my case^^

I also want to see what comes up with Sin, as I'm slightly (only just) suspicious of him atm.

Why is that?

    You begin your climb up the grand stairs. The stairs are narrower here, and cut from a darker, more lustrous stone. Maybe granite? Travertine? The stairs climb another two hundred yards before spilling into another plaza, this one bordered on both sides by gated fences of wrought iron. Guards are posted at each gate. The first pirate that asked for Kivam speaks up;

“These are the residences of the captains, officers, and some of the wealthier merchants. Keep moving, we’ve no time for sight seeing” Which is too bad. You spot gardens and fountains as you walk by. Perfectly manicured planters and intricate stonework complete the picture of wealth.  You cross the courtyard towards the stairs that continue upwards.

These stairs are half again as narrow as the last stretch, and carved from marble. Maybe five men, shoulder to shoulder can fit across. Intricate carvings of dragons and serpents wind around the thick railings. You are high upon the side of this mountain now, and can easily see the many ships of the Neitaren fleet guarding the entrances to the port.  You look down to the docks and to the town, nestled in to the hillside like it was made to fit there. You continue up for several hundred more yards. Finally, you top the last few stairs and come upon another plaza.  However, there is a distinct difference between this one and the other two. This plaza is heavily guarded by The Hall Guard, an elite group of pirates who have volunteered a year of service to the protection of the Hall and the Minister. The Town Plaza had been open and busy, the High Plaza private and quiet. The Hall Plaza reminds you more of a killing ground than anything, with steep stone walls on both sides of the path and archers at their tops. Walking down the actual hall, you feel vulnerable, judged, and anxious. You come to the first checkpoint. A massive iron portcullis is raised above the pathway, ready to be brought down at a moments notice. The guards are not relaxed, nor easy with their manor. You begin to get a feeling for how desperate this situation might be given that there are hundreds of pirates and they treat your group like you could offer any challenge at all. You wonder about that. Your are under a roof now, the ceiling of which has been rendered to appear as a giant star chart. It’s beautiful in its detail and must have taken a team of artists quite some time to finish. Torches line the walls in copper brackets.  You pass under another portcullis and arrive in the most beautiful courtyard yet. It has also been perfectly manicured and is heavily guarded. The main door is straight ahead, but two doors are spaced on either side. Crests are carved into the stone above all five doors. There is no ceiling here and you can see straight up to the tower that acts as a signal at night, great fires being laid in the pits and reflected by polished sheets of copper, the reflection of which can be seen many miles away. Far enough to guide a weary pirate home, or to warn others not to come any closer. Your pirate guide explains the doors.

“The main door leads into the Hall. The two on either side are the entrances to the Admirals quarters. Only one admiral is here now.” The pirates voice is flat and he nods towards the guards are posted at the door furthest to the right. The Hall door is heavy wood, carved over every surface with designs and rounded at the top. It is big enough to allow for a giant, but it swings easily in as if it weighed nothing at all. You enter an antechamber with plain wooden benches lining the walls. You are led to an equally large set of double doors, perfectly square until they part in the middle and open as if pushed by an invisible hand. The Hall proper is before you.

Kivam enters, steps to the side to allow the rest of the group through . . . and to place the stone wall at his back.

I have a baaad feeling about this.

Eases his twin long-knives in their sheaths as he enters the Hall with the others. With Kivam taking one wall, he takes the other. You didn't get to be a drunk as old as he was without getting an instinct for when a bar brawl is about to break out.

The Hall chamber is circular and the ceiling must be over one hundred feet high. Catwalks surround the walls at the tops, and pirates are crossing back and forth, from one end of the massive signal fires to the other. Shafts of sunlight bathe the chamber in a warm glow; motes stirred up by replacing the coal for the fires swirl in the light and bring an acrid tang to the air.  You look to where the sun hits the floor and notice the mosaic of tiny tiles that form a giant compass wheel, the size of the chamber. Beautiful. The chamber is completely empty except for the back end of the room. Here the floor has been raised to shoulder height, all marble. Another intricately carved banister runs the length of the raised floor and an arrangement of beautifully carved tables and chairs line the platform.  The arrangement matches the doors to the chamber. One chair in the center flanked by two on each side.  The chair in the middle is gilded, and in it sits the Minister. Behind his right shoulder stands a hooded figure, and to the right of that hooded figure stands the witch from the ship, her strange eyes glinting in the light. Behind the Minister’s left shoulder stands Barm, and behind his left stands another pirate. Every other chair is empty except for the far right, in which sits the Captain of the Maiden’s Folly.  You double take, thinking that those chairs must have been for the Admirals. You look back at Barm, but his gaze tells you nothing. The lines around his eyes and mouth are drawn tight.  The three pirates that led you in take their positions, backs to the platform facing you, just under Barm. There are guards all around and above. Silence settles over the room as every eye turns towards the group. Minutes pass and a feeling of nausea is building in you. Your heart starts to beat faster and there is a pressure building up behind your eyes.  Suddenly, it passes. The witch from the ship speaks.

     “They are prepared, Minister”

“And the bonestone? They have it?” His gaze never leaves the group.

     “They do”

“Then they are welcome as my personal guests. Welcome to the Hall, travelers. You’ve been told much, seen much, and that’s not nearly half of the story you will learn.”

He brings his hand to his chin, stroking his beard. “My Admiral has advised me to put you under arrest over the duration of your stay. My Captain tells me that there are assassins among you. My witch tells me that this is indeed true. But my witch has also told me that one of you will be the key to my survival, and I did not become Minister of the Brotherhood by locking up every threat that has come my way. No, you are indeed free to roam the Hall, as you will. You will be shown to your quarters. In nine hours we will meet and dine together and you will be told more of your purpose here and what you must do. Until then, it will go much better with you if you decide to thin your ranks of assassins. They may be led to their quarters now."  The three pirates step forward and usher you back out of the chamber.

- so, we have a 9 hr deadline.  Cleo has 5 votes.  The only other name up for discussion right now is Sin.  Vemy, why is that?  And for the rest of you - any reason not to vote Cleo?

PS, could we please lynch Cleo before the random kills start?  Thanks.  Vemy, why Sin over Cleo?

SinisterDeath Licks his eyebrows

"I have no Idea why vemy would want to lynch me."

Sorry if your innocent, but the time has come to make a descion.

jack loosened his grip on his sword from underneath his cloak.  He loosened it, he didn't let go.  He wasn't a complete fool.
