it's not really mind shattering. But I wanted to see how you'd play without knowing what i was looking for.

 

Basically it was a vibe read. You came with enthusiasm that seemed genuine. It's my impression - and people can correct me if they want -that you're good at playing scum, but it's not your favourite thing to do? So your vibe did not seem to say "Yay! Let's put on a front of being really excited to play this game, but I really hate it because, UGH! SCUM RAND! CURSES!!!!"

 

You having been away from playing for so long made me think that you would have a harder time faking it. But IDK.

 

My one experience of playing with you when you were scum, I got a...how do I put it...oily, feel from your play? You were really good at seeming genuine at walking back pushes that you got challenged on (involving me) but I always felt like you were kind of skulking and opportunitistic. I didn't get that feel here.

 

That being said, I don't know your full scum range, and this is a soft read. Which is good enough for D1 in my books, but I'm interested in your thoughts and other people's thoughts on my thoughts about you.

@Lizabeth We can agree to disagree. I understand the logic of not wanting to give Mafia confirmation of the setup but (on the small percentage chance there is a BPV that was hit) having that clear to build on and to force scum to double tap or leave alive a named townie is worth the exchange to me. It’s going to become clear to them anyway before long and we have two built in screw ups before F5. If clearing someone today can help kill scum today, before our backs are to the wall, it’s worth it imo.

 

I personally feel PRs are a luxury anyway. Vanilla Mafia is a thing, after all. But I’m not really gonna push the subject too much cause it’s not going to really take us anywhere beyond theory.

I always find it fun and interesting to read how people perceive my play. I vastly prefer to be town over scum, that's for darn sure, and I'm sure you're right in the "oily" impression, because there's always that agenda and that scheming that I do more or less consciously. If I can make the rest of today productive after getting start this late, then by tomorrow I’d like to have the shelves either built or at the very least have the pieces but so Sunday I can just assemble/paint.

Sort of in the same place you are where I’m thinking to myself that if she is scum then she has come a longggg way in my experience. I wish NB had expounded more on his thoughts now because at the time it looked like he was just throwing out stuff to throw it out. I would be willing to listen to Nyn’s take since I know she wanted to vote Sooh but you guys didn’t agree.

 

On the one hand I want to say she’s already outside of her scum range but on the other I’m not sure *my* meta on her is the most current or the same as everyone else’s.

 

I’m curious if her answer to Z was purely hypothetical or if she is beginning to suspect me again after saying she was leaning town before the NB lynch.

Also FTR I doubt I’m moving off Cass today barring a claim and/or something exceptional. I compromised and moved off yesterday and that got me nothing in return.

 

I don’t believe people reading how EOD went would think that NB was villagery minus someone like Crusher or Nyn, and even she voted him, so calling me opportunistic for doubling down on the guy who didn’t do a whole lot and then popped in at the end to self pres at the first opportunity seems... not genuine to me.

At this point I have things I like about your play and things I'm uncertain about. The answer to his wagonomics that there HAS TO BE a scum on NB, you're still the most likely one out of the two that are unknown to me, but scum may very well have hidden somewhere else since it looks like they weren't in danger yesterday.

For Crusher I think his take on NB was very genuine. Probably not strongly AI but still. Generally have liked his play - I think his call out on Dice isn’t problematic like Cass is making it to be. JN plays a different brand of Mafia where fluff will get you killed, so that pinging him seems like it should fit.

 

Zander is... tough to read sometimes. I thought the bluster D1 was a good sign but I don’t feel he’s been very strong in the department of pushing/solving. His high ship toasts before the morning of EOD was a turn off for me because I don’t think it was productive at all and just noise to make noise. I don’t get the Dice vote or how he thought going solo on me would do any good - seems like a waste. So it begs the question of whether he was reading NB/Sooh that positively, didn’t want to get his hands dirty, or in a more tinfoil realm if he didn’t want to be the one to hammer a townie to save his partner (in Sooh as the only competing wagon)
