I have to go do Halloween stuffs.  I'll properly read the last few pages once the kids are in bed.  The point of my recent posts was basically the last active thing I did in this thread was thoroughly reread Tiink and I absolutely don't get how anyone can be that confident on him.

This is really the question I have IRT Verbal.

-Scum whiteknighting a townie?

-Defending a teammate?

-Really confident town with a read that may or may not be right?

As in you take your time and notice errors and fix them or you type something and click go.  I'm sure there are people who can be called wolfy for lack of errors but I don't think it goes both ways.

If it's Tiink and Verb all they really have to do is pocket Ben at this point, and all that usually takes is to call the loud and/or consensus people deep wolves.  /shrug

Ben is probably scum (pending actual reread)

The plus points I have are still mostly focused in the early game play and the Brian claim in response to shads initial you a wolf post. His game play hasn't been clean (the early apparent contradiction (i don't think it's actually a contradiction when chased through his explanations it just looks that way) in scum reading shad while also saying it's more likely from town!shad)

However his approach to the game in a broader level is in line with his scum game, he's focused on Shad in a vast majority of his posts and shows no interest in resolving anyone else. His approach to shad still reminds me of his approach to Liz last game (with all the same caveats that I wasn't paying enough attention to that game etc), and his confidence is similar to his sub in in Tennis libre. His actual style as town varies game to game, in his mu game that just finished he was far more curious and questioning, in SS he was more of an active observer, but in both he had a far broader focus, while as mafia he gets stuck in reads

I'll take another look to see if I'm missing stuff from other topics, but off the top of my head, that analysis is pretty much correct.  I think I've asked him for other reads beyond his initial contributions a couple of times and got little to nothing.

So early Saturday he obviously voted Turin because Turin was the one who had been the most weird to him.  Prior to that, the only definitive read he gave was saying that he felt good about Shad because Shad's interactions with Turin.  He had a couple of questions about/towards BFG and claimed that I was active but not taking a stance (I do remember he never followed up with that when I called him out for it).

PSA:Taking a flight at 7pm GMT. I think that's deadline ish time. Will check in before.

Do you have any reads right now?

Soz, switched my phone off. It was 1 am. I honestly don't have good reads right now. I've played with Verb ages ago and I remember him taking a back seat early when both town and scum. I'm curious about BFG because she's made some statements which I didn't quite understand. Darthe has like 3 posts. I'm also unsure on you as well. You've been active, yet I haven't seen you take a stance against anyone.

The bolded wasn't me calling you out btw, I haven't really and neither have most people.

This reads almost like he's trying to sooth things over with me or appease me.  "Don't get mad - that's not meant to be an attack."

After that, the next stances he really took is what Shad referenced about the voting.  He questioned Ben about having BFG as his strongest townread, which makes sense if Tink thought she was suspicious for how she handled it, but there was really nothing else to her and nothing at all to me.

Despite me giving him an opportunity to pursue it.

You're ISO keeps coming up broken for me, where the posts are in an almost random order, but on the third try, I found one. I am not hunting through for the other one, but it had a phrase like "might would" where it looked like a sentence was reworded with one of the original words accidentally remaining, and at the end of the sentence, there was a double space before the next sentence began, which would also indicate a copy/deletion consistent with what I saw in the preceding sentence. It is one of the posts from today, and it was before this one that I have quoted here.

What does this even mean? I contradict myself but not really but that's cool because it's not clean even if it's consistent?

Yeah, I tend to latch onto a person as scum and hammer them until they get lynched, and as town, I move around more. That's a good observation, a viable case, and something I need to clean up in my scum game, but I am still town, and I have never been attacked right out of the gate before, which has thrown my town meta off here. A good play by wolf!Shad. I am also still Brian the dog, and if you're town, we can talk about this after the game, but I am having my doubts.

Well okay, I can OMGUS here. Everyone thinks you're scum, and since your timing on turning on me after an entire game of "probably town" coincides with me mailing it in to the dismay of the other players looks like taking the sick calf in the herd. #wolfy

It came up fine for me.  I'm choosing to believe this is another example of you breaking things

Did a ctrl + F for "might" and didn't see any instances of anything that looked out of place to me, but that's such an oddly specific thing I can't imagine you're just completely lying through your teeth about it.  Maybe you misread something, or I might would have missed it.

I doubt if the words were actually might would. That was just an example.

Pretend there's someone in the game that has no idea what the bold means, in that he didn't follow either of those games.

It means that what I remember from your last wolf game it was clean, this game isn't, hence included in the things that make you town. And yes shads early game was calling you and him teammates. You thought him Wolfy for this, but argued with verb that it would be more likely from town!shad. It's an apparent contradiction (which isn't clean play) but I think the points you're getting at with both are different so it's not actually a contradiction it just looks like it.

Also meant to say that you're town game can drop off in terms of content as well, so that's null from my earlier thought to verb

Clov, I'm just doing it for the lulz man

Seriously tho. I'm not convinced he isn't mafia. I'm thinking that the Verb, Tiink, Ben trio is where the Mafia is. I really do want to hear his cases on BFG and you. Not really because I think it will be valid but to see how he is thinking. I think he is giving too much credit to Tiink for his "wagonomics" post. I actually think no lynch was a viable position with the votes as they were. Might have been better if it came with more time.

I made the vote in part because he hadn't been in thread yet. His stance on me is rubbish also. It seems he really knows I'm town but wanted to keep me out of the town pool.

And why now?

Last night I managed the first 8 or so pages and thought Ben town, Verb split groups into you/shad/me then ben/tiinker/himself and my immediate reaction was to wonder why split that way because bens been active (he wasn't far behind me in posts when I checked) which made me question the drop off (probably null) but his iso highlights the depth of his shad tunnel

In tennis he started off as town and subbed in as mafia. When he subbed in he spent 2 game days pushing me/aj without considering any other possibility. There was a huge tonal/confidence change pre/post sub in - this game he isn't exploring shads alignment he's determined shad was mafia very early on and that's that

Gilmore girls is harder because I'm less confident in what happened and can't check. But he latched onto Liz early over her pushing him over a ~slip(?). Eventually he accepted it was a misunderstanding(?) shifted her to null but didn't shift his vote

I don't hate tiinkers iso by itself, but I'm lacking thread context for most of it. I want to know his thoughts on Chris and verb when he's back in thread

Okay, thanks.  I was trying to figure out if you thought he was the best lynch at this point or just hadn't moved off yet.

Bold - I know what you're saying, and I wasn't crazy about it either.  But to be fair he did say you were probably town and mostly cleared....which is technically correct.  I don't think you're ever lying about it here, specifically, but until EoD nobody knows for sure.

You didn't realize how much of his content was focused around Shad or how much there was in early vs recent?

Posted

It was very begrudgingly done. I'm still waiting for someone to decide it is in town's best interest to lynch me today to ensure a tomorrow with one (mine) or possibly two (potential NK) flips.

Mafia are notorious for not wanting to eliminate what was once a potential mislynch.

Posted

Yes? I'm pretty sure I spent a fair bit of time day 1 prodding his lack of progression on Shad, but it was weighed against other stuff that I thought looked good for him, I hadn't realized quite how much his content had dropped off

Posted

Here's the big question:  if you are town, why aren't you jumping at the potential solve of BFG/Clov?  Didn't you even mention it before (somebody did)?  Why not question my town reads and make sure you agree, and we mechanically lock this game?

Why aren't you doing that?

I actually dropped the possibility of a Clov/BFG scum team about 428958935 times in this thread before anyone else was willing to humor it.

And I chatted with both of them for about 348954895 pages and concluded that it was still possible but I needed to step back and direct my attention elsewhere.

And then I evaluated Tiink and he looked bad.

This is hilarious to me. You were talking about how you liked all of my posts less than 24 hours ago and you've done a complete 180 ever since. You're literally never going to read me correctly and I might have to play with the idea of you being scum after all.
