thanks, still reading, but almost done, will likely have to finish tomorrow as I'm gonna be modding for All Stars the rest of the night. Basic thoughts for now, early on it did seem like Nyn had a bit of tmi when talking about the setup mechanics, but I liked her a lot more (today). Sooh's probably town, but I realized upon read that I actually haven't seen her as mafia.

The setup isn’t that complicated, I think. It’s the same with the idea that you wanna keep people you think are town alive by voting for their opponent in the matches so they can advance. We need the bracket to be full of townies and all the scum voted out, we win at that point. Scum control who “faces” who which is wifomy but also valuable for some preliminary reads. Also just because you don’t advance in the tournament doesn’t mean you’re out of the game. So you become stump-ish in essence if you don’t get killed after D1.

 

I need to not read when I'm only have paying attention, this was the post that caught my eye, but it's not by Nyn lol. For some reason I thought that Nyn had talked about the setup, but that's obviously not here. I blame Ben.

I'm only at the bottom of page 15 on my catch up, but I have to leave for work and wanted to get a start on things before I go.

 

 

I agree that she did seem excited, with all the gifs. She tends to be more robotic as scum, in my experience. AJ seems somewhat excited as well, but I'm not sure if it's cause he's pleased with his alignment or because of the nature of the game. Maybe both.

That's a good description of BFG. 

 

I have a hard time capturing AJ as scum, so I don't have a read on him yet. I'm only voting against him because of BFG really. 

 

 

 

Speculation:

Regardless of who wins match 1 and 2 (if those are our intended high profile pairings), scum can eliminate all 4 from the competition by essentially having two of them turn to tree stumps and the two others be the winners who flip.

Match 3, 4 and 5's winners go on to play D2 pairings along with one of the losers from the same group.

 

In order to ensure not losing on D1, would scums pair up in a straight up scum pair? One would move on as a winner, and the other could be the loser being put back into the game.

 

 

Honestly, that is exactly how I would have done it if I was scum.

 

 

 

I’m okay with that. Even if I don’t advance I might be left alive and can still weigh in, which might be the preferable position.

 

That's what I'm expecting.  I have no expectation to win a D1 thunderdome against Nyn, who will always out work me.  I'd be more confident later in the game - I'm content to hopefully be left alive to chime in and vote.

Groups 1 and 2 are probs all town. Maybe a symp, but looks to me like its just cutting out some strong players.

 

Bens quick vote in every group bug me abit, but its technically D1 and we all gotta joke. I would like some more thoughts from him if they stay there though since days are only 48 hours I think. Sooh pinged me with her AJ vote but I cant remember why, need to check that.

 

Beyond that, not really. LZM, Rand and SK are gone. All of the stuff I listed is pretty obvious and everyone else has already mentioned them :L
