Ties would advance scum automatically, so yeah, that's not a good thing.

I'm torn on who to vote to advance now, just in case I'm correct and both winners of the 1st and 2nd match will be killed. Part of me wants to vote for Nyn, just to make sure she's a treestump for the rest of the game, but seeing as I don't know Verb's alignment yet I'm leaning towards voting him. Hopefully he'll be able to come in and clear himself so I can get a better idea on what to do.

Also how does Ben have more posts than I do? I feel like he has said nothing of substance. I mean, it's early D1 and he was racking up posts on N0 probably, but still.

Too many quotes to respond to on my phone. Don’t know how to multiquote in it and wouldn’t if I could.

Walking the dog is an old eupbimism for masturbating. That’s why I said TMI with a shocked face. I was making a joke.

AJ is game solving while BFG has only chatted. AJ seems more town for that. Bus is here. Will post more at home.

I'll take that as a compliment ^_^

Yes, AJ has actually posted since the game started, whereas BFG has not yet posted game related content to the same degree. Much like yourself actually. Not so much game related content there.

However, as those of us who are familiar with how BFG plays know, her being relaxed the way she was is more a sign of being towny, even though the game content isn't there.

Not saying that I think AJ is scum though. It's very possible it's one of those town/town pairings.

Rules clarification:

There are currently 10 players of unknown alignment in this game. Unless all three members of the mafia lose their D1 match-ups, the game will end with 7 players of unknown alignment. There will only ever be three deaths, chosen by the mafia goons under the stated conditions.

Within the game, there is a tournament. The winner of that tournament's faction wins the game. You are voting to remove people from the tournament.

On N1, if the Mafia team has not been eliminated from the tournament, they will substitute any eliminated player of their choosing back into it (along with performing their kills).  This player can, of course, be eliminated again on D2.

These previsions allow for a tournament-styled build to be functional.  Otherwise, a member of the mafia would need to be the consensus most villagery player on the starting roster, and the game would be pretty much unwinnable.

It's like AJ has never met cloudflare before.

On that note,

Vote: AJ

Vote: Ben

This is why we can’t be on the same team; you never agree with me. Just vote yourself—we both know I’m town.

Is this a real read on Sooh's slot or a joke? If serious, why?

No, it's a joke because she started out by asking why we can never be on the same team together. You see, even if we are on the same team, we are paired against each other, and thus, on different teams. Since we voted for each other, she disagreed with me, and that's why we can't be on the same team.

There has been no reason to be substantive yet. When I left for work, we were all still at the "'Sup, ol' buddy?" stage. Nevertheless, I threw some votes out to get started.

I just added some--you quoted it, in fact; I gave a town read on AJ and the reason for it. Not all game-related content needs to be figuring out the mechanics of a set up that no one understands to begin with.

Oh, I know what else I was going to respond to. Sooh voted for AJ because she doesn't believe that he didn't know there were two cloudflares per day, yet I did not know that myself until earlier this week. They come at 8PM and 3AM my time (an hour after AJ's time), and I was unaware of the 3AM time until I started covering a coworker's graveyard shift this past week, so I think it's credible. *shrug*

Posted

she clarified that wasn't the reason

I didn't see that. It's fine if it was the reason, at least at the time she cast the vote, though. It was early and nothing substantive had been posted yet. It is as good a reason as liking Led Zeppelin better than Jay Leno, and the votes don't lock, so I'm not too concerned yet with where anyone's votes are.

Assuming everyone cross votes in their matchups I don’t think ties are possible unless it’s done intentionally so, which favors the scum. So that’s important to remember.

Also they’re not going to shoot their partner (maybe the symp lol) but there will always be at least two scum alive ITT to muddy things up.

This is gonna be fun

So we know that if its a W/V tie, the wolf wins, which is bad.

But is there any merit to forcing a tie, because the information about who wins? Your the smart one here AJ, and the BFG/AJ lineup makes me think your both town so I trust your opinion. Like if it goes to a tie, is the person who won more likely to be a wolf or does it mean nothing? Im leaning towards probably nothing myself.

Posted

It doesn’t guarantee that the winner is scum, yeah. I was more saying if a situation arose where a player intentionally forced a tie that there could be something behind it. I don’t see any reason to not vote for each match, even if you have both players as town. One way or another someone is going to get eliminated.

Posted

If I'm interpreting the rules correctly, if it's v/w, the wolf wins. If it's v/v it goes random. So what possible benefit would you get from it?

Posted

Ah, I hadn't considered that either way, a townie will die unless a wolf actually gets more votes. Yeah, I'll vote each bracket, then.

[v]BFG[/v]

Because less towny so far than AJ.

Because Verbal doesn't give a damn, WoT > Anime, Led Zepplin > Jay Leno, Me > Sooh.

Exactly where do you get this idea from?

Posted

I get the rationale behind voting the least townie of every pair and that's fine. But I still want to see more substance than that and actual scumhunting rather than everyone just voting and saying "cause person X looks better than person Y".

Posted

I'll also keep my vote on Sooh even though I think she's town, since the two times I've seen her play scum, she has pretty much been MIA, and she is active and trying to solve in this game, which is what she did when I saw her play town. She was actually the vote I was gong to skip, because I know I'm town, and I believe that she is too, but if one of us is going to die regardless, it might as well be her because I need the practice. She's already good at this.
