Damn deadline creeping up on me.  I'm about to go to sleep soon, but I'll definitely be up before then to move my vote if necessary.  Darthe or Eldrick correct me if I'm wrong, but there's no penalty for not lynching anyone right?

 

As of right now, my vote is on Adella, and I'm comfortable enough with it there, but I could see myself changing to Hally as well, who's becoming my #2 scum read over the past few pages.  After that though, not sure I have any really strong scum reads tbh

Looking back i do feel like verb is prolly town. Those little reaction tests give me a positive vibe. Dpr I'm unsure of. Unclear if he's just got a boner for verb again or if he actually finds him suspicious. Or both :-p

Essentially, as town, she gets stuck playing and tends to have a problem pulling herself away, even when she needs to. She doesn't actively AVOID the thread as mafia, but she's much more likely to leave it when she has reason to do so.

 

She said she was catching up a couple of times now that never went anywhere. I'm sure she really iz busy, but I would expect some sort of contribution beyond just being stuck catching up.

SK came out of the gate strong, but has since evaporated. Don't remember if there was an announcement that there would be an absence - needs a reread, but that won't happen till after deadline.

Pretty sure I've never played with sk so i dont have any experience there. He's been posting in bursts but could be a schedule thing? No clue. He did come across sort of challenging which i always like. As in standing his ground over his opinion but i have to admit i dont recall much more about him, trying to think back. It's just tricky.

 

@SK could you give a short description of your town and scum game?

Look, I don't think it's too much of a stretch to question why you're encouraging vig talk on D1. You can say it's to prevent crossfire, but are you really that concerned with everybody shooting N1? Seems like they'd want to wait until they had at least a little info to go on before wasting those shots?  On the other hand, by getting the conversation going, it turns into a fishing expedition and a sharp eye might be able to pick a vig off. If that vig holsters, we'll lose the shot. 

 

Me, I'm for trusting the shooters. Everybody here knows how to play the game. 

 

And I'll bet that even you can admit that the setup last game was one of the scum heaviest ever. Miller is a great claim to hide under as scum and by endgame, there was no reason whatsoever to think that a Miller was included.

 

Or.....a sharp eye might be able to pick off scum.  A method to my madness, Wes.

 

 

 

Also, fwiw, I think Verbal is right about the vig shot claiming. Yes, mafia CAN claim their NK and try to pass it off as a vig...at the expense of potentially outing themselves and taking a suboptimal nk.

As far as I know mafia games don't have a "stack" like Magic does, so to speak. Most mods treat kills as happening simultaneously, so if I shoot you and you shoot me, we both die.

Honestly, it wasn't fleshed out in my head - I was putting it out there for discussion and to see the arguments for and against, and maybe to get a read or two off it.  That said, I think later in the game if we still have >1 vig alive, we should think about calling shots.

Pretty much the same as every other D1. I understand that you try to employ a disruptive style (hide-in-the-grass-to-beat-the-snake or whatever...) to shake up the game, and I'm fine with that. But that style also provides a lot of room to hide as scum, so it has to be noted. So I noted it.
