So Tress, what made you decide?

When I did the summary of events, I realized that along with Dice being suspicious of you D2, Cass had said she thought you were town and expressed suspicion of Tigs (I'd skimmed that post the first time) so that kill didn't automatically look worse on you... then laying out D5 like that, your progression on Shanti felt more believable.

Topic: Why there can't be night chat in this set-up.

 

Shad answer: Because if town are allowed to not drop peeks until end of night phase scum can't hunt the seer.

 

Can anyone explain this one better/does anyone disagree?

He said there was no night talk, because having night talk would be disadvantageous to scum.

 

Imo people waiting til the end of night to post peeks is for all intents and purposes the same as not saying them until the next day. I don't understand the exclusion of night talk.

 

If anything, peeks help scum narrow the hunt. When town wants to do their peek, fake or not, is completely up to then.

 

The only weirdness comes from the seer being able to say who they checked before they get their result. If they die, everyone knows who they were looking at. But that's wifom into if that's why they died because the result isn't given.

Pretty much this, but also game setup originated on a board that doesn't have night chat as standard.

This question arose from my mentioning my annoyance at the no night talk, because on the nights it ran the expected time (the no hammer ones) i would spend 6 hours of my shift waiting for day

Night chat and mafia staying in thread aren't common on other hoards in general :)

It very much is entirely up to the individual. When you post. IF you post. Completely your choice.

 

And as Tress mentioned in the game, if the peek is going to be believe able, you have to read that person town from the start. This can be seen all day, and night talk doesn't interfere with that.

Yes and no,

 

but the point is that the game is one of the more balanced (think on 2+2 it's about a 50/50 win rate*). Altering night chat shifts that massively in towns favour

 

*yes this is made up cos I don't know, but it is supposed to be balanced

no night chat is a pretty standard and important rule for this sort of set-up, because it allows villagers to drop their peeks at night, robbing wolves a sincere opportunity to seer hunt during the night phase

 

anything beyond that explanation feels unncessary, considering this is a set-up that has proved very balanced (52%/48%) in a very large sample size

It's in the high 50s here (14 C).  I am in bliss.

 

The weather has been a month delayed all year so far here.  We were still getting snow storms in April, and May felt like early spring.  I love it.

 

Now just skip summer and go straight to fall plz........
