If anything I'd expect the laughing man to be an event or something like that. 

 

An NPC if not controlled by us shouldn't have NAs that weren't strictly random. Perhaps we'll be awarded anonymous vig shots that will be taken through the disguise of the Laughing Man or something.

It has to be more than a event because I was able to interact with it via vote. So it at least shows it is something we can interact with. I guess it could be a activated event? but with it being in the player sign ups in this thread only, I would say we have

 

1. a npc(??? whatever it does)

 

2. a player who has control over this

 

3. its shad and he is a dick

 

 

In the signup thread, Cory was in and then out - we'll go back and look, but he implied he was still in the game, so I'm guessing he has something to do with this.

Zander is sketchy here imo. After Seph's post above and right when I'm thinking it's Cory, he brings Cory up... There's a post by Killa that did this too.

 

I am actually kinda interested in dpr/darthes take on this.

 

My first thought is that if Hackers can infiltrate any part of the network (paraphrased) then we need to be careful with actions and informative roles need to be double checked. 

 

I also didn't like Zander's earlier mention of recruiting - the theme of the game and the presence of hackers implies that roles will play a major part in the game. That means no recruiting to me because it would shatter the balance by making townies put a lot of work into plotting their strategy, then jerking the rug out from beneath their feet. If Shad was going to lol/bastard things, he wouldn't have wasted time putting effort into the setup.

 

It all need to be proven, but that's where I'm leaning.

I dont typically read you well and I know Cory does and mailed both of you.

Already covered the misrep and posted the correct info. It was Seph I was thinking of - which does bring up why you voted for Niniel and not Seph over that point.  

 

I saw your post and it's fine. Sets up a precedent and expectation for your play, which is good. 

 

 

I voted Nini for instantly trying to make up an excuse to invalidate what I said.

1. It wasnt for recruitment hence the song choice of No Excuses it was for instantly discrediting me asking for everyone to say that they are Town.

2. I have no idea it was in the sign up thread and his name's not listed on the player roster so unless he's somehow the Laughing Man then its nothing.

But now that you mention this dpr I remember thinking Cory actually deleted some posts before the game began, and I was thinking wtf is up with it.

it was situated but this is me, and the #1 reason was I read the laughing man can hack into people's minds. Though I have a different idea in my head besides recruitment now, and I doubt that would be the case.

Good post by dice I like it ! Haha I didn't realize it until sooh brought it up. From what I read of the laughing man though he tends to do what he wants? I don't really know as I haven't watched it.

I think it might be worth clearing up this confusion.

 

Shad had listed Cory as "in". Then Cory (posts #50 & #51) said he was dropping out, but because (and I'm paraphrasing from memory here) he was helping a new friend, which I took to mean that he was going to hydra with someone. After that, Shad reversed his previous No Hydras in the game decision, and posted that players could do whatever they wanted. I'll go back to see if he edited that post as well...

 

It didn't really matter to me until people started randomly talking about him, which seemed odd since he wasn't in the game.

 

On reading, Zander's reference made sense in context. But Killa's mention has no context, making it look like she might have slipped in talking abut him like he's in the game.

 

Does it matter if he's The Laughing Man? Not really, other than for casing purposes in trying to figure the role out. 

 

Is it important if some players have an unseen relationship with TLM? Yep - especially in light of Shad mentioning that players might find themselves in a QT, which implies QT's other than mafia. 

 

At this point, I got:

 

dice - good call on my mistake, although he could have mentioned that it was Seph that brought up recruitment. dice, why didn't you?

Seph - He looks to be in resolving mode, which is good. I can get past the mention of recruitment given his response to it.

Zander - Tried to get teh violence going a little early, but I can see this as a reaction to past games. We'll see if it settles into resolving.

Killa - 3 posts so far. Drunk mentions Cory, raising some eyebrows.

 

No real standouts for the rest - it's gamestart mode and too early to call.
