Lego Mafia [Standard] - GAME OVER

Today was exhausting, worked on the house a lot today and spent a lot of time spending money on pieces of the house.  I hate spending so much money in one day.  Sorry, my brain has no juice to come up with a worthwhile post but I figured I should still check in.

I do have one observation that if I had been on earlier I would have posted.  I was thinking about how I would play in the past in RL and I realized I would usually take Cuth's approach of essentially "running" the game.  Ok too tired to correctly formulate my thoughts, but essentially I would be helpful and try to keep control of discussion and momentum forward and away from any suspicion towards me.  I did this consistently and so when i did end up scum it helped keep any suspicion away from me.  Do any of you understand what I'm driving at and does it make sense or is it a common practice here.  Cuth not pointing fingers here, just realized I've seen pretty in depth discussions on everyone except you and I almost think that's because of the way you're playing.  Just wondering if that's because you're doing a good job of controlling the discussions and keeping any suspicion away from you or people truly believe because you are playing this way there is no way you're scum.

wow, I read that through and I still don't know if any of it made sense but I figure I'll learn something from all your reactions.  I'll try to clarify more tomorrow.

Before I go, Len, where are you?  Love it if you could answer my earlier question about your reaction to my hard Town read on you.

I think that's called leading the town, and it's uncommon iirc

So it's uncommon but not impossible?  Why is it uncommon and not something Cuth would be doing?

i wouldn't say leading the town is uncommon

leading the town as scum is

generally more experienced players will tend to lead, but they can't lead unless they're generally townread

i've been in very few games where a scum has managed to keep up that facade specifically leading town for long enough to actually win

can think of maybe three off the top of my head in around 50+ long games i've played

the hesitance is not alignment indicative for me, if you'd like proof i can show you scum games where i was confident and town games where i was not

in this particular game there are several towny players and some that i'm just totally uncertain on

and it's d1

don't really feel strongly about any of my reads, particularly not the scum ones

tomorrow we'll have something solid to work on, though, either from NAs or just the NK

looking forward to that

anyway

i'd like to see your reads again, assuming they've developed since the first time you gave them

sooh you voted him for a stated reason, whether that was your actual primary reason or not

upon receiving votes you unvote and bring up your alleged primary reason

i'm not sure how to feel about this

Fair enough. You don't have to buy my reasons for doing anything. I could be lying to you. You just have to work out if what I'm doing and the questions I ask make sense from a town POV or not.

As for me, I got the reactions I was looking for.

I dont believe any two words of this post together. Thats a problem, and you are so not this antagonistic normally.

Sooh im not following why you're doing what you're rn, and thats bugging the hell out of me. It seems out of character but I dont quite know how to read it. In an advanced game I might think jester or something.

I'm not actively trying to change any part of my play. Sure, a reaction test might not be what I would normally do in a mafia game, but I wanted to try it since the game was slow in starting up and Lenlo provided me with a flimsy reason to vote him for something really silly. Other than that I feel like I've been trying to get people talking and explaining their thinking. If I'm not successful in executing this reaction test it's because it's fairly new territory to me. I may have attempted similar things maybe once or twice before, but not enough to get good at it.

I like that we seem to be on the same page a bit about Wifi today, and I also like that you seem open in your posts. You haven't locked into a tunnel yet.

It doesnt seem like a reaction test, it seems like poking. I dont like much in this game yet, so we will see how it goes.

Before I go: What would make it seem more like a reaction test?

To me a reaction test is more either being absurd to elicit responses or its a "look at me" sort of thing. You seemed to be proddingg at people with a stick sort of, so I guess the focus didnt fit what I expected of a reaction test.

I think that puts Sooh at 3 votes, and only 5 are necessary to lynch. I'm uneasy about that. We've got a full day left to figure this out without giving the scum a chance to hammer and secure an easy mislynch. Granted, I doubt they'd give themselves away that easily, but I don't want to hand them the opportunity regardless.

Does anyone have a particular issue with lynching her?
you do, evidently

why are you asking this question

I dont, actually. Im apathetic to it from her weird posts yesterday, and I dont think anyone else has an issue with it either.

That weirds me out a bit D1. Maybe that's dumb in a two wolf but its in my head that it just feels off.

Anyhow, I can't give in to that without seeing a flip I suppose. [V] sooh [/v]

Sooh seems fine if wifi is a wolf.

looking back at people's posts

these are out of order

but what i'm seeing from darthe is

SHADE EVERYWHERE

finds sooh scummy early on>continues to feel out>proposes no lynch>hops on sooh as third vote>after a space votes ironeyes instead

i think that's the right order

anyway

throwing shade, testing wagons before getting on to see if they're viable, not having good progressions

found sooh quite scummy during the day, but then ended the day on iron without saying anything about any change of read on sooh whatsoever

dice looks alright

he seems a little less in-your-face than he has been when i've played with him in the past

but meta aside i don't think he's done much scummy and has had a number of towny spots

Posted

meh who am i kidding i'm not finishing this, or at least not now

i do think darthe does look pretty bad, but judge for yourselves

want to hear your input

Posted

obviously any look at iron right now is skewing me because i think darthe's likely scum

that said, hm

he's had towny patches, again

i thought his reaction when he came in after EoD yesterday was solid

@iron, how much have you played in the past?

thoughts on if cop and jailkeeper cover are viable for each day?

problem is they only really work if everybody does it, if not it makes scum's job twice as easy or doesn't accomplish the goal

either way there's no point before tomorrow

if you're discussing whether we should do it tomorrow...

the cop should probably out themselves if they get a red peek, given the odds of the scum team knowing who they are and killing them by d4

jailkeeper not necessarily, because he has an action every night

if cop town peek, then i think it would make sense tomorrow if everyone agreed on it

Yeah, fake red peeks are bad. Fake green peeks are ok.

I am not. That may well skew your perspective, so factor it in and tell me where it puts you.

All was well in Unikittys world as they partied in the dog

But then a giant golf ball crashed through the wall and broke everything

One giant submarine later and things weren't going well anymore

your play makes no sense as town

your logical progressions over time are not good

Im not clueless as to how to play this game. My everything has a purpose, even if experimental, and I chose it as such.

Tldr, deal with it.
