After last weeks episode raising some faint hopes this one feels even worse. This was just made-up rot for like 90% of the episode. So Alanna is dead right! No Aes Sedai to heal her and she is in the middle of nowhere with at least half a dozen crossbow bolts in her. No bloody way is she going to be okay. I've turned the bond off, oh piss off I am so glad that you are clearly and unequivocally dead. I am so sick and tired of the never-ending inserted melodrama between Alanna and her warders. Taylor Napier cannot act his way out of a paper bag. This whole arc is terrible and is just a time sponge the show could not afford. The interpretive dance of channeling just looks silly. Egwenes dream stuff what is happening she has one lesson and suddenly she can bring Moiraine into the dream and take her too and place her in Siuans dream. Then she goes on what a dream visit compilation? Every single main character is asleep at the same time? Why the hell are they keeping the BA in the 13th depository? Do they not have cells in the tower? This was by far the worst episode of the season and among the worst in the entire series. The bloody stabbing and healing is just beyond stupid at this point. Theres so much more wrong with this episode.

I just don't see that much value in comparing WoT(current) to I Love Lucy. I can see the value of the analytics in comparing Seinfeld to I Love Lucy as that gives you an engagement score on inactive series. I can even see the value of comparing WoT S1 in January to those shows as it can give an idea of interest during completed seasons. Maybe it gives some type of measurement I just question it's value. I never said it was invalid. Hell I am not even sure what they are using to generate their numbers so how I could make a call on it's validity is beyond me. It also seems to me that it is designed to produce results for new programs that are almost guaranteed to fall into the top end of the tier, only 8 times the engagement required to place a show into the outstanding category when compared to the entire back catalogue. Also why does that table work out to only have 98%. Speaking of I love Lucy does WoT really have only just over double the engagement? -
The accents were one of the only 2 things that I could nitpick about the whole sequence. 1 Extras, just need more. 2 The range of accents across each scene even was too large and a little distracting.

That data set seems really weird. The change in demand is only +51.9% from when there was no new content? I would have thought that figure would be much bigger. Especially considering it is 18 months since the last season I cannot imagine Season 1 and 2 where drawing massive figures in Feb 2025. The same goes for the other set it seems to be comparing it to all other titles across the entire market. So that is comparing a new release brand to series that are not active or even complete. If this is true it feels very much like a site designed to produce a couple of good looking graphs. Did just notice the article date if so its very hard to take anything from that early in a cycle with any accuracy. -

Female warriors would still be super rare. -

I agree that they may not know Aiel on site like they most definitely would in TV. But any outsiders especially armed female ones would attract interest. -

They may have just thought Burger King was opening a store so no big deal. -
I don't think anyone has actually said this. What we have asked is to be closer to the books and not invent needless new arcs that sap the limited time available from the major characters. The production also thinks they can achieve the adaption in a timeframe and budget that they agreed to. If it's not enough they should have pitched something different.

Just to provide some information to put that into focus That is its engagement compared to the current number 1 Its engagement of 25.11 is less than half of Reacher which comes in at 52 and 65 for Invincible on the Amazon list -
I dont think the whole season falls into this category. However most of episode 4 does and it could be a tipping point to correct the show. Episode 4 is currently at 9.5/10 on IMDB nearly a full point better than all other episodes this season. It is being praised from everyone here. My hope is that someone at the studio is taking notes on this and they change the direction to follow the books like this episode has done. This season is already made but the future could be bright. 9.5\10 on IMDB is just about the highest rank I have seen for anything.

My point was more concerning the fact that in our world we clearly don't have perfect gender identity at our birth gender. Religious beliefs are too varied to take them all into account.
-
Nice crop on that quote BTW completely ignore the fact you for no reason accused me of being malicious. Nothing of the sort has been proven. At no point I have done this. Frankly at this point I could not care how the rest of your day is considering the way you have behaved towards me.

no i meant that the linking arms things could have been the easter egg to the aiel vision
-
Like I said a little bit. It's not a massive thing but for a show that likes its easter eggs it feels like something that could have got a callback.

You are the one moving goalposts. I never said things like this did not happen in the real world. I disputed your stupid claim that no one would care. You can claim all you want that you intended it in a different manner than you expressed it. At best it is poor communication at worst it is deflection from a point you know was incorrect. I claimed the BA was stupid to potentially expose themselves to discovery by the mass murder of a large chunk of a community. I claim it as bad writing because it feels obvious to me and to a number of other people that the scene was inserted to simply try and ride the coattails of another show. I claim it as bad writing because it damages the competence of the BA. And you continue to argue with in book references to it's implausibility despite clear evidence to the contrary.
-
No you are the one hurling untrue insults.

I don't think you need to treat souls as being hard gendered as a negative thing in randland. Souls in randland are eternal. If you at that meta level of a soul are whichever gender you are it could be a good thing. In the real world a meta form like this is not applicable. And it is clear that some people feel they are not gender compatible with their birth gender and they should be fully able to transition to whatever gender they feel most at comfort with. Given the WoT never really digs into this issue it could be argued that the eternal souls are actually in their ideal and preferred gender identity for all time. I want to be very clear this is not a right wing argument that you are the gender of your birth but that because of the nature of the WoT universe everyone is always at peace with their eternal souls gender. I know you said that you did not want to get into this deeply I just thought this idea might be of some interest to you and unless you want to explore it further I will not revisit it with you.

It does have a little of the unused chekovs gun feel about it. It would have been very simple to have had Latra tell Rands ancestor the time to move out was because (insert name of city) had fallen and the Aiel there had song to him for hours as he (insert channeler name) had killed them one by. That said it was not vital it be included. Just maybe a small improvement or addition.

Despite tales of exactly this type of thing happening in the books in the form of mobs spurred on by fear and hatred attacking people suspected of using the power or being dark friends or the like. Despite the clear example in Emond's field a very stable and controlled village where Moiraine had helped not murdered. And you still think it impossible.
-
Much like the showrunners you are style over substance. You accused me of maliciously misreading, you then realised you were wrong and decided not to issue a retraction. When I confronted you about this again you provided a deciding lacking apology in the form of mea culpa which would have been fine if it was purely a factual error that had occurred, but you had felt the need to embellish this substantive inaccuracy with the assertion that I was doing it maliciously, your style as it were. And you now claim that you were not forced into that apology despite it only occurring after I confronted you on it a second time. Grow up.
-
Small appreciation for the apology, only small because you had to be forced. Even without the threat to burn her it was a mob.
-
Even if I was to agree that your usage of it in this context was a correct one, which I am not, where exactly do you think the public outcry which you referenced would come from but from those closest to the killed. You have then admitted that those people would in fact care. Do you not think the relatives and those closest to 30 dead people would amount to a number that actually constitutes the public. I don't think the words "nobody would care" is inherently associated with a public outcry.
-
What a load of rubbish. No comment on your absurd accusation that I maliciously misrepresented the text of the book. Or is maliciously misread another misunderstood use of language.

Wheel of Time Season 3 - Full Season Discussion
Mailman replied to SinisterDeath's topic in Wheel of Time TV Show
Capturing Rahvin makes more sense from a book view. Demandred and Sammael hated LTT with a bone deep passion and they transferred that entire to Rand and considering we saw Sammael's scar it feels like that being kept is a strong possibility and that makes them ever agreeing to help him unlikely no matter the pressure applied. Rahvin and Asmo were enemies but not on the same personal hatred level as the others. Could we perhaps see a back firing compulsion weave like what occurred with Graendal as the means of capturing Rahvin? -
I take your point but I feel the context is pretty self-evident in this case with my use of the word black.
