  1. So what you have healers that can fix you up as seen in the show and you stop the blacks from killing quickly. It's highly doubtful that if she used the exact same attack that a narrow line would cause the entire floor to collapse. It's certainly a better option than watching your sisters gets killed and watching the blacks escape. And you didnt answer why the blacks couldnt channel into the ground in the same way to block it.
  2. So you what if there are floors beneath the Hall how does that stop her exploding the stones under the blacks feet and is actually an advantage if the stones crack and drop them through they are going to take fall damage and be hit by stones. Surely the primary aim is to stop them killing your fellow sisters.
  3. Put up a shield in front of them to stop all the debris and if Alanna can channel under the ground what is stopping them doing the same. If Alannas underground attack is unblockable why did she not use it in the Hall fight?
  4. Theres's arrogance and then there is suicide. It's the same as 6 men vs a crossbowman at 50m you might be confident to the point of arrogance that you are going to beat him but to choose not to put up a shield because of that is suicidal. They are trained channelers one of them from the green/black so almost certainly has the same training as Alanna to not consider her a threat is just mad. Also surely the main goal is to escape ASAP why delay neutralizing her any longer than necessary.
  5. I know we find out later that Ishy specialized in dreamshards but i still thought that Rand was basically correcting things in the world of dreams that Ishy was changing to try and stop him. I don't remember that fight ever specifically been confirmed either way that it was a shard or the world of dreams. I just always assumed world of dreams. I thought it was always a chase down the corridors of the stone with suddenly lava filling the corridor or water or pressure suddenly filling that environment.
  6. People where arguing that the blacks had more training and were more prepared and ruthless and that was why they won, and now you seem to be suggesting they lost because they were arrogant and caught by suprise.
  7. I thought it was just the world of dreams they jumped into. Dreamshards where channelers/dreamers dedicated areas I think.
  8. Jump cuts and dark screens make following modern action sequences an absolute nightmare I know it saves on budget but a lot of the time it's near impossible to actually tell what the hell is going on.
  9. Just last week people were arguing the exact opposite argument in favour of why the blacks beat the Hall. It's not a question of speed both sides clearly saw each other before attacking and we saw clear evidence of blacks insta casting shields in the Hall. And the blacks are in a rush to escape before they are overwhelmed by loyal Aes Sedai so why would they possibly hesitate, and how on earth would you not think a member of the battle ajah was no danger to you.
  10. But why did the blacks not raise a shield when they saw her. The shields block both channeled and physical attacks. Why did they just stand there and wait for her to attack first. And too many jump cuts the bane of modern action scenes.
  11. Maybe but she could have just killed them all that kind of feels like more her character. Having no consequence healing of pretty much death and be insta cast makes it hard to have stakes. And you would assume that Alannas warders would know that so not going for the kiling blow first makes little sense.
  12. Ok so we have a baseline for where we are coming from in terms of our enjoyment as I find it hard to immerse myself in the story when these issues constantly break it up. Given that will you admit that the things I mentioned are in fact legitimate issues even if they do not stop you from enjoying the show.
  13. Good worldbuilding and writing is not having logical inconsistencies riddled throughout your story be it in an action scene or not.
  14. How sad that the story, world building and good writing just mean nothing as soon as an action scene starts. How do you enjoy something when the stakes of a fight are so meaningless so as to not require some logic to govern them.
  15. I have to say doing a fan event early screening that you have to register for is potentially a great move for shows. Especially in latter seasons you will almost always get a massive majority of early season fans being the ones to register and detractors will not want to register thus allowing you a good chance to set up a seemingly good wave of talk and reviews deserving or not leading into the official release. Tricky but I suspect probably effective.
  16. The blacks clearly seeing Alanna and not bothering to set up any shields to stop an attack. We know from the Tower battle scene how effective the blacks are at combat and yet it is now their turn to do nothing. You don't have a problem with 2 warders just running up and stabbing the blacks. We saw how effective a whole corridor full of warders were when confronted by just 2 blacks with 2 Aes Sedai to support them. Why did Allana warders choose to just stab Liandrin when they were going to perform a beheading afterwards. She was defenceless with her back turned and 2 warders are unable to complete a killing blow. Healing now seems to be insta cast with zero recovery time for the injured. Why are we worrying about Ivhon I'm sure he will be healed and fine in a minute. Alanna pausing in the middle of the fight to do her chessy I'm kicking your arse grin allowing the blacks to regroup. The flip is just embarrassing, and I did not see any effects indicating channeling to aid it. Now the biggest issue unless Alanna is shown to have a Angreal at some point then how did the woman who had a 4 to 1 advantage in the Hall and fail to win do so much damage when outnumbered 6 to 1. Why on earth would Liandrin bother to use the sword to kill Alanna. I will tell you why because instead of simply using a thread of air or another fireball to kill the helpless and exposed Alanna the story wanted to kill her warder instead. The massive number of jump cuts made the scene hard to follow. This scene was just terrible.
  17. I have not seen the full episode yet but someone linked what appears to be the fight between Alanna and the black ajah and if that has not been altered it is some serious CW level crap.
  18. Those swords are not blunted look at the tips. Fully pointed. I'm also willig to bet blunted steel swords are used with people wearing armour and not just bare chested.
  19. Why the hell are they fighting with real swords. Why is it out of all the promotional material we have got are the swords that are in a clip showing training the most realistic weapons? Why are the warder training grounds one tiny area inside the tower? Interesting choice to have Gawyn win, I am assuming the light-haired one is Gawyn. Also have to question the thoughts on the backflip section unless Galad knew that Gawyn was going to do a backflip off the column, in which case why did he throw the fight, was his plan to actually cleave Gawyn in 2 with his back turned? On a lesser note did not think much of them playing up to the audience liked how they were more serious in the books about it.
  20. But didn't she get Aes Sedai healing for that and also get hit by Nynaeves healing explosion. Even if scarring tissue is not healed during those I'm not sure it would have had to time to scar over by that point as the wound was still infected and not fully healed over.
  21. More money is not in anyway the answer unless you mean give them another 8 episodes a season using the extra money. This is already one of the most expensive shows in TV history.
  22. You have to consider some of that is probably unreliable narrator. Ishy was often trying to break Rand and so boasting of his abilities plays hard into that. Ishy also was not spun back out into the world after the bore was sealed as he was imprisoned there alive but trapped. He was imprisoned closer to the world than the others allowing him some contact that grew over time.
  23. Thats along way for a borderland army to go and any nations army but Andor would be considered an invasion I would think. Elaida would have to get at least Hall permission to take an army. Would also assume a green would lead a tower force. If Elaida went i would think it most likely she went with Andoran forces. I doubt Elaida will go to 2R. If Andor were to lift the siege it would impact Perrin becoming lord and the 2R considering itself sovereign. Not that they couldn't do away with that thread just assuming they would want to keep it.
  24. Thats better than a Chode Kaleidoscope at least
