@Zander I'm not assuming anything, and you put in bold a statement that is taken completely out of context. The entire statement was that I would use my viewing following a majority vote of the players, and IF there wasn't a majority of any kind, then my idea would be to view you. 

 

So far you're the only person who doesn't seem to think that would be an acceptable approach to the situation.

Happy to consider any and all, even though it's very unlikely I'll live to report it. I'd still love to get people's thoughts and suggestions, which could help town whether I'm alive or dead D2

Yeah well, it's my first game with a power role, Zander's been all over me for what feels to me like nothing at all, and when Marsh pointed out that town roles could also provide insight into what mafia did, I just felt like I'd put my money where my mouth is and try to give us a shot

Based on this, and in the hopes of aiding town the best I feel I can at this point, I'm just going to come out with it: I'm the town cop. If I survive D1 I will ask for everyone's votes for my view, and I will abide by the majority vote. If no majority can be reached, I will use my view on Zander and report my findings first thing D2. I realize this makes me super vulnerable to people ready to either lynch based on power-role claim, especially with only 2 current votes on me, but deadline is fast approaching, and I feel my best move right now is to just come out with it and let you guys do what you will.

I have said I will take people's ideas / votes for who to view N1 and abide by the majority. If one cannot be reached, I'm currently planning to view you. Not as my first choice, but as a fail-safe if there's no majority in the game. 

 

Kicking and screaming "wtf" does not change any of the facts above. Sure, I can't prove it at the moment, but since I WILL flip town if / when dead, I have zero reason to be afraid of you, or even really care about what you have to say to me at this point. You've made it abundantly clear you think I'm scum, and at times implied you don't think I'm even a good player, so I put my money where my mouth is, totally vulnerable, and am ready for you to either get with town right now, or continue to isolate yourself.

I'm being absolutely honest, and while it's objectively early to have claimed, Marsh was the cop in the buffy game and got NK'd on the first night anyway, so I figured I'd at LEAST try to help town with information and maybe try and help guide towards a solid D1 lynch instead of getting picked off before having the opportunity to help much.

Your right. Except this time Calder isnt on the side of evil. So cop was automatically safer.

Unfortunately I know this puts Marsh in jeopardy as well, as IC, because there's reason for scum to shoot either of us N1. But I felt like we were spinning our wheels without really getting anywhere, deadline looming not far ahead, and I'd prefer to use my role to it's maximum potential, even if that means having to claim on D1

 

 

I dont get this claiming when you didnt have to is the worst chance possible for max potential.

 

You even mention Marsh getting NK1 last game and I dont think he claimed.

 

If your Town I have a hard time thinking you thought of Marsh last game and that claiming while under min pressure and there being another train and 7 hours to go would give you the chance to MAXIMIZE your Cop potential because if youre telling the truth youd be Scum's  # 1 target.

I told everyone in the post where I claimed why I did so. I didn't do it for immunity - I don't have any idea if there's any to be had anyway. But you and I had reached a point in our interactions where nothing I could say or do would get you to leave me alone, give me any benefit of the doubt like I gave you twice despite everything you did that made me feel you were mafia, and it was really becoming counterproductive, messy, and extremely aggravating. So I claimed. It may not have been what you'd do, it may not be what many people would've done, but it's what I did. And we'll see how it pays off

Marsh getting NK'd N1 played a huge factor into my decision. He didn't get to use his abilities once, and we lost our cop N1 without ever reaping any benefit. I feel like you are mafia, Zander, which would tell me that if I'm not lynched D1, I"m likely going to be NK'd. It was a calculated risk, but I decided I wanted my posts and my flip to mean as much as possible if so, and give town an edge if I do survive by allowing them to dictate my reads. This even means sacrificing what I'd LIKE to do most, view you, if that's not what everyone else thinks would be most productive. 

 

I don't think it's fair to say I was under min pressure. I've acknowledged I wasn't facing a train or anything, but you and your tunneling on me no matter what I say or do feels like pressure, so I did the one thing I felt I could do at this point to get town to focus and to use my posts and / or flip when killed to help. 

 

I can accept that you don't agree with how I've handled this or with my decision to claim, but you can either accept that it's happened and use it, or you can continue to drill on me. Either way I don't care at this point, but you're really starting to seem desperate at this point.

I think the flaw in your logic is assuming that Zander just wanted you dead for some inexplicable reason (before finding out you are the cop) and would use any means to make it happen. While some mafia players go personal like that, they are few and far between. If Zander is mafia, and was trying to get you mislynched, it would not be in his best interest to night kill you. That would a) waste all the work he did to cast suspicion your way, and b) make him look bad for having tunneled a townie. Also, as part of a team, he would not have unilateral control over the night kill, so even if he had some sort of axe to grind his team would probably have other ideas about who to kill. 

 

Also, by claiming you practically guarantee getting night killed, so how is that an upgrade from possibly getting night killed?
