I can see logic in it being a safer move to claim a Town peek than a scum peek.

 

Tinfoiling that the underlining is TMI if Shad flips Town.

I think you misunderstood him. He meant that a scum faking cop would pick a townie and claim they're town. Random didn't do that. He claims Shad is scum, which mafia would only do as part of a desperate gambit. That is very unlikely here because fake claiming cop is gambit enough, without giving a false read to condemn yourself immediately.

 

I understand that even if he were faking and claimed a town peek he'd go down later when town realized he wasn't night killed yet, but that could happen a lot later than next day phase. They could kill me in the mean time to spread wifom and buy him more time.

 

I just don't see it happening, due to the myriad better options. Occams razor tells me the simplest solution is That random is telling the truth

Not for nothing, but that's extremely easy to say when you weren't in it trying to figure people out, and you've got the results in front of you. If you're more active now, great, but saying it was easy to spot their alignment after the fact simply doesn't mean anything.

This is a pretty big reach imo but perhaps im bias but anger and frustration are also a big part of my Meta.

 

I mean hell remember in your game World's End when Dice got Pizza to shoot me?!?!!?

Sure it easy to fake for some and Im certainly in that group that can but you were in both those games and theres dozens more examples of it in my TOwn games.
