HACK THE PLANET

The setup:

9 Townies
2 Mafia Goons
1 Mafia Traitor

Mechanics:

Day start with role modifiers. All players will be randomized an alignment. The three Mafia-aligned players will then be randomized into two Goons and the Traitor. Pre-game, the two Goons will have 24 hours to deliberate and pick up to 2 of the following modifiers for their team:

1) Change a Mafia Goon into a Mafia Role Cop
2) Change a Mafia Goon into a Mafia JOAT (1x Ninja, 1x Strongman)*
3) Change a Mafia Goon into a Bulletproof Mafia Goon
4) Recruit Mafia Traitor to a Mafia Goon

* - Ninja & Strongman function as modifiers to the faction's Night Kill, they are not separate killing powers.

Once the modifiers are selected, they will be randomized amongst the Mafia faction. For each modifier chosen by the Mafia, Town will be granted an additional randomized power role to accompany the two pre-randed from the following (for a max of 4 Town PRs):

1) Cop
2) Roleblocker
3) Tracker
4) Bodyguard
5) Vigilante
6) Innocent Child

RULES

 

1. This will be a hybrid hammer game. If at any time a majority is reached, or a deadline has passed, that player will be considered dead and may no longer post in the game thread. In the event of a tie, I will randomize the lynch between the tied parties. I will provide Vote Counts as necessary and as often as possible. Players are welcomed to account for their own, but only VCs provided by the Mod will be considered official.

2. Day phases will last 48 hours. Nights phases will last 24. I will grant extensions as necessary when I see fit. If you do not submit your Night Action before the deadline has passed your action will be considered forfeit. All game times will be set to PST (Pacific Standard Time).

3. You may not communicate with anyone in or out of the game except through channels that I have provided as the Mod.

4. You may not quote, screen shot or otherwise copy your Role PM or other conversation you have with the Mod.

5. Use the appropriate tags when casting votes. Please unvote before casting a new vote. To vote: [ v ] Player Name [ /v ] To unvote: [ unvote ] Remove the spaces between the brackets in order for the code to work.

6. Players may role claim at their own discretion. Due to lack of characters within the theme to provide fake claims, character assignments will be withheld to prevent gamebreaking claims or hints. Every player will be assigned a character, but that character will not be revealed until death or post game.

7. Purple will be my color for official game announcements. Please refrain from using it.

8. You are expected to understand and adhere to the game rules at all times. As Mod I hold the right to remove players as necessary. If you have an issue please contact me privately through your Role PM.

Oh, no. Sorry if that was unclear. There can be a max of four Town PRs based on the number of modifiers the Mafia select. All PRs will only appear once though, if at all.

Should also note that if the Traitor is left unrecruited they cannot receive a modifier that the Goons have chosen. They will retain their BPV though.

 

No player (Town or Mafia) can receive more than one modifier.

Oh ok. Also correct me if I'm wrong but I count 5 possible roles not 4.

 

If mafia select recruiting the traitor and then give that goon a role that can add up to 5 right?

Or is the traitor stuck as a goon?

 

Also can you explain the mechanics of the traitor if he's not recruited?

The recruitment will happen pregame if that is one of the modifiers they choose. The traitor will become a Goon and then I will randomize whatever other modifier into the team, so theoretically it's possible to have a Recruited Traitor JOAT or something like that. The Mafia can only select two of the modifiers, however, and Town will only start with two PRs and increase by one for each upgrade the Mafia takes.
