What do you guys think of the setup?

I learned that 11 is a really effing weird mafia number.

I suppose tracker and jail keeper works. You just balance by adding a víg shot to mafia and a survivor.

Oh wait.

Anyway it was a good run and I'm glad I'm able to end my DM career on a big losing streak

Thanks for all the games, fun and suicidal thoughts :y:

Sorry if my modkill let anyone down (sorry bfg) but I just could not continue and Clov was fully within his right to modkill me

I'd run a 9er as 7/2, and  13er as 10/3.  At 11, I can't really do 9/2 but 8/3 would just be stupid.

8-2-1 would be 3 mislynches, which is doable, for a sweep . If mafia lost one, it would be 8-1-1, and mafia would then need 4 mislynches and 3 successful kills for parity.  If they hit the survivor, it extends it further.  I figured the vig shot was a fair balancer.

It actually helped cause Nyn didn't have a good kill. That's my guess anyway. She could have just killed me or Pral tho

Good game to you as well Sooh.

And obviously I was wrong about mafia not bussing their partner in a two-scum game :P

See?

You're still wrong. I only bussed cause I knew she was going down and I wanted to be in a good placing. I never bus her if I think the lynch goes elsewhere. I wanted Sooh alive for as long as possible.

"In a two-scum game busing your team mate on D2 is the way to go?"

No.

Unless they're just grossly incompetent and going to out themselves immediately, I guess.

- Me, in the deadthread.

LOL that was my whole point. Sooh was going down so why not bus.

I was just wrong about who bussed.

I guess my point wasn't going through though cause I kept repeating it and not only did it never register but even you are using it here...

Tifa Lockhart, a neighbor, Town-aligned.

Easily the most badass female in the game, you're one of the key protagonists and kind of the glue that holds everything together, despite getting wrapped up in a weird love triangle.  You also have really big...eyes.

Red XIII, Vanilla, Town-aligned.

You're a giant talking cat from the desert.  In a lot of other games, that would make you the weirdest character, but that's actually kind of par for the course in this one.  You're also a teenager, but you seem a lot older and wise and stuff, so I guess it's not too bad.  Besides, your dad isn't nearly as much of a wuss as you originally thought and you come from a proud line of warriors.  Would you like a ball of yarn?

Yuffie Kisaragi, Vanilla, Town-aligned.

Ninja, thief, bratty teenager. A jack of all annoying trades! But you're not a bad girl, and it's not your fault you like shiny magic balls.

Yeah no kill is the right play there since it's lylo anyway

This, x 100.  The only downside  is if town no-lynched, I would have forced her to kill N4, because I'm not going to sit here and wait 15 phases for somebody to do something stupid and get modkilled and cost their team the win.

Usually people don't get what I say. Not only here though so it's surely my fault.

I largely skimmed the last day phase, but you seemed to be making enough sense to me.  I didn't agree with your thought process on some things, and some of your conclusions were wrong - nothing wrong with that, it's like you don't have all the answers - but I didn't feel you were way out there most of the time.

You were making some sense. I thought you put things into gear especially in the last phase. But I had to wave you away lol

Yea I wasn't that far off.

But here I simply mean that a lot of the time I say something and people just understand something else entirely. And they even call me out on why I said B (when I meant A). I was even called as good as a liar after an Rpg game with friends.

@Nyn well you probably go down if you shoot Liz, you were right about worrying.

Maybe in other cases too cause less distraction? I mean we each had to clear two others here.

I don't really know the specific origin of the conversation in DT because I read none of D1 and only skimmed bits and pieces after, but at least from my POV the conversation was something like: how can we more effectively balance maintaining village morale with effective scum hunting, because a demotivated village lets wolves pick up the reigns and a village too eager to buddy up lets wolves sheep along for the ride by simply faking enthusiasm.

Mafia is a game that is rooted a lot in emotion, not just rationale and logic. Some people do better at restraining their emotional reactions, some don't. It's a personality thing. And it's not likely to change. Some keep saying that people need to learn to curb that. Well, guess what? that's not going to happen. And I will argue that people just need to STOP taking things personally or interpreting them as such, grow a thicker skin and freaking GET OVER IT. And then, I suspect, we'd be able to get through games just fine.

I mostly agree with this, but there are certain people that absolutely do need to learn to curb it.  I'm not saying that necessarily applies to anyone here, because I think pretty much everyone here is typically reasonable with their emotions, but there are exceptions.

(Looking at you, Rayn and Clov).

I'm also thinking in terms of apathy.  Joe rands village, is distracted for the first few RL days and gets off to a rough start, everyone says if they don't pick up their game they're probably a wolf, they read this and see a mountain to climb and they lose interest instead of going "oh hell no" and exploding onto the scene like we're hoping for.  It seems to be more of a thing now than it was when I started here, and maybe a lot of it is the current player base being collectively burnt out, I dunno, but griping about it won't help me win games.  How do you correctly administer a WIM transfusion to enough players that you can still form a winning POE?
