Alright I guess we might as well just lift the veil in case there are any townies who haven't picked up on it at this point:

 

Sirren and I are the masons and have known each other are town from the moment the game started.

 

I didn't really have a plan for the way I handled this but I figured I'd have some fun with it and see if anything interesting happened. We talked in private and couldn't think of any strong mechanical reason not to be obvious with it and definitely didn't want to risk one of us dying night 1 without providing a firm clear for the other. I couldn't see any way to catch mafia by keeping it a secret barring the incredibly unlikely scenario of mafia attempting a fake claim.

 

Worst things I can think of happening is it removes two possible suspects for the doctor and paints targets on our heads but eh. It might even be useful to provide a couple really obvious targets for both sides.

 

If there was a stronger mechanical strategy for this role I couldn't think of it so apologies

Well some things make more sense now at least... And I even mostly believe you... Though I have my doubts that one of you dies tonight. That's leaving one of you as confirmed mason. I think it's more likely that Mafia will want to push to doubt your claim and get one of you lynched and the other NK'd. But this does clear you out of my bottom as well as Sirren. So now what lol

I finally caught on once Sirren asked cory the question... i'm not good at picking up on hints unless there is some super obvious reason for me to look and I normally only see it in retrospect when doing ISO's...

What now is just that I want to start thinning the suspect pool. I've been very anxious about lynching wrong all phase but:

 

it's a 13 person game (VS Hunt size) with but the mafia only gets one night kill as opposed to the danger of soup.

 

So I'm not going to worry about being wrong. As we've got some room to maneuver.

 

I don't think going for Cory now would be useful, I'd rather lynch into the people who I have worse feelings about. Of those, Darthe is the lowest so I feel satisfied that he should be the first to go.

Yeah that's the conclusion I reached

 

My VS Hunt instincts were screaming don't claim don't claim but

 

My role's only power is to cross confirm one townie. I'm not in danger from the role blocker. So why not just make sure that everyone knows it and we can have at minimum two phases to take advantage of it?

I'm not saying they're not, and I saw the set up. but you get the right people and you never know. I mean I just played a multiball game where someone hint claimed TruthReader the entire game and was mafia lol... But both of them coming forward, I believe them. 

 

As far as Darthe.. I'm completely torn... Darthe is darthe... but on one hand I wouldn't mind lynching him... i think he's been argumentative and unhelpful in a lot of ways. on the other hand there's a lot of people that are for a darthe lynch and that makes me nervous. l

@Cory - I'm empathetic to what you're saying because I experienced similarly in the Kronotrigger game and even had a little melt down in that one but kept coming back for more. I don't really agree you've been walled off this game, but I think that impression is something that you could genuinely feel.

I agree with this. I felt pretty good about you regardless, Regy, but after seeing how townie Sirren could be as more or less defacto Mafia in our last game I'm happy that I can just clear her.

 

Fwiw I caught on fairly early during my massive catch ups and hoped to just leave you both in my town pile without having to really discuss it in the hopes one or both of you would catch it and kind of make it known that I know that you know kind of thing.

Something that gnawed on me that I couldn't discuss was that post SiRReN and Regy both indicating they knew the other was a villager in a soft-ish way, Clov started to push SiRReN.

I feel like he should've caught that, as at least I'd caught it by then.

..... it was my first post... How can anyone be seriously considering anything right now?? over half the people haven't checked in yet... There is not enough data to do any more. I'm not trying to contribute currently... I'm trying to figure out why all of the sudden everyone is already pointing fingers... But contribute?? I have nothing to contribute. I think that people are making something out of nothing. That's not saying that any of you are town or wolves... it's just saying that I don't see the argument. I thought you were joking about Cory, obviously Hallia did not. She already has a "play" vote on her and now you're attacking her for her saying she didn't think you were playing and she's coming off defensive. I don't see anything INHERENTLY scummy there, just a misunderstanding. Therefore I'm not really getting anything out of it and I have nothing to contribute on the matter.

unless you have a reason to suspect one or the other you should not suspect their claim as a villager.

Cory treats himself like a leader. Most players treat him like one. Thats all well and good, but he needs to still be fleshed out and examined well. Im a support, fleshing out strange leads is what I do.
