I knew from that one time I hard defended him and asked him to give his thought processes in the thread and said "this is why sili is a villager" and everyone lynched him anyway

Look, if Eldrick hadnt been "Seer" cleared, I woulda lynched him 10/10 that day.

It had Despothera in it.

It was actually pretty similar to this game. I got emotional, and people lynched me for it.

It was a bad day man. I lynched someone who I figured was town, to save someone I knew was town while the person I was sure was wolf was seer cleared.

Sili one day you'll understand that nobody is actually good at Mafia and some people are just lucky and a little bit clever and do the best with what they are given

The point is that you emphasize and expand your thought process and try to be as accurate as possible and I think you've moved steadily in that directions

You were good in your short time in this game and you were good in the last POG game and you're easier to understand and you look for alignment-indicative things

Obviously don't get a head full of hot air but I think you're a pretty solid player

I think I try so hard to elaborate because I know it's expected and because I like talking, but I would rather make good reads and say nothing sometimes.

4 of 5 wins so far. We'll see if I win the lottery with the mash as well.

Small monologue on making reads.

I believe people are fairly consistent in what information they use to inform their reads: emotion; reads consistency; meta; character; pacing; motivation; ideas... so on, though there is overlap. I won't speculate right now but I have a fairly good idea of how some people make reads, and most rely consistently on 2 or 3 methods (which is not the same as using only 2 or 3).

Sometimes '3' is insufficient and people get lumped into grey areas for periods of time. Sometimes people are even miscleared or mislynched due to the inconsistency of relying on incomplete information.

But basically the point is this, everyone is going to have strengths and weaknesses and the quickest way to get better at reading is to realize what you do not know and more importantly why you do not know something.

Incidentally if anyone is curious, which no one is but probably no one knows that I consistently rely on perceiving motivation and character and identifying consistencies. Some think motivation is utilitarian but it isn't.

I've never put anyone on ignore. I don't know what it's like.

tbf, i also put kronos, sooh, and turin on ignore so i could read the thread faster. :)

Ignoring people who are dead/obv town makes the thread a much easier read, so I understand this.

Sili, if you still have me on ignore I might be offended!

Eldrick my two biggest pieces of advice for your scum game would be

1) stop trying to make role-related plays because they don't work, they just make you lose differently (me and Shad had a lengthy discussion about your n1 plan to hardclaim a wolf peek on d2, which I had hoped you'd learned in Supernatural)

2) don't overthink the small things - removing Lenlo from seer consideration because he said he had a "fake peek" is not a good reason to remove someone from seer consideration, especially with the mound of evidence supporting that he was the seer. Just as villagers should rely on Occam's Razor, so should the wolves

Calling a peek a fakepeek is exactly how I would play it as cop, so that's what I was going for. When people berated me for it I ignored it, because I wanted it to look like I was avoiding the subject.

Btw, I'm noticing a pattern with Calder. If Calder is in a game, he's scum.

It's a given.

Luckily no, so I don't have to offend you today :p

lol

Btw I think you did a great job subbing in.
