Why Nolder is pretty much guaranteed to not be mafia with Crusher:

 

Because Nolder voted Crusher.

Like everything in the game, context is everything.  In order to show WHY Crusher/Nolder are incredibly unlikely to be scumbros, consider this sequence of events from that POV.

Shad - it's posts like from Calder that which make me think you and calder have been town on town. Frankly, nobody who's played with me before would look at the interactions between me and you and go "teammates", but it reads genuine coming from calder. You've both had things that pinned me, but not enough for me to vote either of you today.

 

Suggest you move your vote, considering you're on the block and voting somewhere that looks to have no chance of happening today

I think that's sound advice and at the same time think I'm going to catch heat for it.

 

I'm generally a last minute voter but I'm also not used to having a train with EoD approaching.  [v]The Crusher[/v] is a significantly better option than you or Hallia imo and I'd rather have my vote there than be +2 above the second train sitting solo.  I will very gladly switch back to Calder if it becomes a viable option.

 

 

 

Yesterday evening, you have Crusher and Nolder voting together on Kivam.  This makes a lot of sense if Kivam is town.  Crusher and Nolder are both mafia, and Kivam is arguably the player who knows them the best.  He's made some unique plays game that could warrant some suspicion.  Both would be on early enough that if he IS lynched, neither could really be accused of bandwagonning.

 

It doesn't go anywhere.  So, they split their votes.  Crusher stays on Kivam, while Nolder...

 

Alright everyone is ignoring me so that's clearly a no on Kiv.

Let's tie the trains then.

Moves to his teammate.  That's not particularly clearing, but remember - this is not a hammer game.  It's not like Crusher needed another, say, 5 votes before he died.  So the possibility of bussing early to avoid looking like bussing isn't really in play.  All Mafia!Nolder achieved here is...

In the event of a tie in the voting, the person lynched will be randed between the tied players

 

 

....reduce Shad's chances of being lynched from 100% to 50% (not factoring in future votes, of course).  Unless the scumteam is Shad/Nolder/Crusher, Mafia!Nolder pretty much just helped bury one of his two teammates on D1 in a standard vanilla cop game.  

 

 

So my point to Thane was basically saying that the lynch would, presumably, come down to Shad and Crusher.  Thane stated that he thinks Nolder is mafia.  It's possible - but it relies HEAVILY on Crusher being town.  So the most +EV thing there would be to reforce a tie between Shad and Crusher at 5-5 and hope RNG goes his way.

 

THoughts???

Nolder hasn't really done much imo. The most memorable thing I have from him is his defense of Crusher, even though he was null in his read list. Him going after Kivam the way he did pinged too.

 

Then there's that tying vote, which like I said bugged me cause he felt the need to point out that he was tying the trains. Eh.

 

 

The only beneficial thing I remember him doing is some analysis of one of the EODs. Might have to go back and read that....  and see what he actually concluded in the end of it. Gonna give him an overall ISO, if I'm at it.

I was a little leery of Laine scum reading Thane for not voting when town!Thane very frequently does not vote.  I asked her yesterday, dunno if she ever saw it/replied.  She went for him over Hallia start of D2 iirc.

That means one scum among Zander-Nyn-Nolder-Laine (and for anyone in that POE themselves, just replace your name with mine).  Zander is pretty damn SHC, so let's limit the POE to Nyn-Nolder-Laine.  Nyn's the person I'd vote at F3, no earlier.  So that leaves Nolder and Laine for today and tomorrow.  Don't really care about the order since if we do that we're either looking at a Zander-Kiv-Nyn endgame or we've already won, and Laine says she has a no mislynch streak to keep alive, so ... [v]Nolder[/v]

Zander.... I know Clov thought that... but at the same time he did include Nolder in his POE in the post he claimed seer.

 

Fact of the matter is... all three have merits. ie Kivam's push on Crusher is what really got him lynched.... Nolder tying Shad and Crusher's trains.... Laine last minute vote, simultaneously with AJ... making it so she basically put Crusher at majority before it went to random. On the surface, by wagonomics, they all look good-ish. Which is why we need to look past that and concentrate on their actual contact. And possible connections to Crusher/Halli.

Suspicion wise that would be my order too. Though when I asked Clov's order.... I'm pretty sure he put Kiv first. So I'm a little conflicted.

Re clov's "Nolder and Crush aren't scumbros" - bad read, IMO.  Tying the trains for towncred is exactly the type of thing a player who plays on JN as often as Nolder does would do.  Most of those guys learned mafia from me, so that site is bus-heavier than normal.  Not saying that has to be the explanation for that vote, but it just doesn't clear him for me the way it does for Clov.

 

BTW, anyone who is wondering about my town status should just look at my actions from yesterday, especially after Clov claimed, and ask if they make any sense at all for scum other than as a WIFOM.  I did my absolute best to keep Clov under cover even after he hardclaimed (which, again, was a ridiculous move, Clov ... can't wait to hear you explain it postgame)

 

@BFG - any chance we can turn this from a deadline game to a hammer game?  With only one scum, and a clear POE, seems like there's going to be a lot of dead air
