This reminds me of the few times I tried to play on POG.

It wasn't so much about quoting each other and making cases etc etc etc it was all about on thread presence and tone.

Very different from what I'm used to.

 

I will say though if you come from a different community with a different meta and go some place where the gameplay is different you either conform or get mislynched often.

As much as I love debates I was never dragged into that enormous fight on WF. I respect how people opt tp play. Always have/always will.

I thought about lying to you, but i think your nice and put in a lot of effort. So i am going to tell you the truth.

 

I am never going to give more than one real read and the read i give may not be really what i truly think. It is a funadamental difference in philosophy. I am patient and willing to play the long game. People approach mafia by scumhunting as town and appearing to when scum.

 

I reject that entirely and do the opposite. I play in my scum persona at all times. If a 1/3 of the players aren't willing to lynch me at any given time than i consider that phase a failure. If you guys lynch me then i am gonna flip town and my reputation stays intact. If you let me live than I get to operate as scummily as i please and not get lynched. Its a win/win.

That being said, IR is completely outed for me as this point.  There's not a universe where Town!IR flips it back on me being scum - there's exactly one situation that would be helpful (shockingly, I'm not going to say what that is right now, because I don't want to spoon feed him an out), and I sincerely doubt that he's going to approach this game with that mentality, given that games of this format don't get played there.

 

Hell, half the players in this one aren't use to such a game.  

 

So what he's doing now is basically a sophisticated version of lolcatting.  He's going to dress it up as fancy play by making it all about his meta, and how he's approaching the game from a different perspective, but I'm 99% sure he's just realizing he doesn't have a chance in hell, and he's not the type of player to go down without a fight.  I can't fault him at all.

I never tried to make it personal.  All I asked is that you give a positive contribution to your team.  You and I both know that there were a lot of people there who blatantly avoided that by doing nothing.

For reasons I can't even fathom, I'm going to play your game.  Where did this mafia read of me come from?  I got the impression you were considering me to be town on D1, so what posts/behavior of mine do you see coming from a mafia POV, rather than a town one?

interesting. I will not be around much tomorrow, and only more or less in today (training my viking group tomorrow)

 

I half expected people to go after me for not voting. Logical. Sorta. Personally, i dislike D1, and i do not vote unless i'm 100% convinced they will flip wolf. In some games, i didn't even vote D2 either. My vote is the only power i got, so i want to get the right one, if i can. 

 

i am still feeling bad about the town loss last game i was in. I want to have a town win in this one. 

 

@Nolder: Is AJ providing seer cover in your opinion or is he.... something else?

 

@AJ: I find it interesting that you would have picked Zander and myself as your peeks. Personally, i have 3 ideas in my head:

1) you actually are seer and are doing your job well, clearing people when not finding wolves

2) you can be providing seer cover and you're lucky guessing your peeks

3) you're wolf, so you know who's town and are fakepeeking to gain towncred. 

 

i find scenario 1 the most likely, and would hate if it were 3. If it's 2, then good, you did guess 2 townies right. (if you wanna know, Zander is town imo)

FWIW I actually don't think you defended Crusher.  Not outright anyways - you actually did something far more damning IMO.

Yea I went to bed super early last night after trying to catch up. I went back and re-read mostly Crusher and Kivam posts. My main issue is that i really dont get a good vibe from Kivam. I have been off on him ever since his "maybe i am peeking this guy so scum might NK me and not hit the cop or maybe i am the cop." Maybe just a stroking his ego post, but rubbed me the wrong way. It read as a bit contrived, but i obv. have not had any interaction with him prior to this game.

I also really hated Kivam's push on Nyn. The whole "town doesn't feel that they are scum hunting, they just scum hunt" was atrocious. Nitpicking on wording like that rarely nets scum. Also it is common phrasing and i agree with Nyn's point. Its been a game filled with inactives. Half of town has blatantly not been actively scumhunting. So I thought her wording was actually extremely appropriate.

 

I trust him the least and, as such, don't currently want to pursue Crusher until i feel better about Kivam.

 

 

Some people think this is about you having Crusher's back, but you didn't.  You didn't take a stance that he was likely to be town based on how Kivam (presumably a mafia read) interacted with him.  That would actually be pretty acceptable, because typically, mafia don't try to kill their teammates (looking at you, Phoenix Rogue...).

 

Instead, you tabled the issue until Kivam is resolved.  And you didn't try to get Kivam lynched.  He probably wasn't going to be nightkilled.  That gives you a pass to avoid any interaction to, or about, Crusher until...what? Endgame?
