Vote me today.  Because whoever's alive tomorrow needs to trust that I'm town and take the following analysis into account:

 

Nyn is scum.

Here's the question: Does Nolder kill the one player (Shad) who was strongly townreading him?  I don't think he makes that move as scum.  I think scumNolder would be more focused on surviving to F3, which was much more likely with Shad alive and Thane dead than vice versa, and then letting the chips fall where they may.
 
BFG will vouch postgame - I PMd her after seeing Laine's flip with a thought process: If Shad dies, Nyn is scum.  If it's Thane, Nolder's scum.  Zander ... bit more of a toss up.
 
Have to do this quickly because I have to get the kids to bed and then will be tied up getting ready for Rosh Hashana ... the Nyn is scum case:
 
1) The Crusher-Nyn dynamic.  As anyone who played or read US knows, Nyn has no problem hammering away at a scum teammate day 1; we (me and her) basically went at it hammer and tongs D1 in US as members of the US Mafia.  That "batmanning" comment has been digging at me since D1, and here's the thing - as someone who has played with Crusher a lot, I don't think he uses that comment, or jumps onto the Nyn push as quickly as he did, unless Nyn was a teammate.  Crush is not an early game mover, especially as scum.  He doesn't like to drive the action, he doesn't move too soon when a townie is getting pushed ... compare his reaction to my push on Nyn to how he dealt with the Calder v. Shad brouhaha:

Early on some stuff worth looking at.  now just kinda degraded to Calder/Nyn arguing Chad into a corner.  Not sure what to think of it.  Chad reminds me of Lizzie a bit.

 

Lizzie, FWIW, is a guy on JN everyone makes fun of as a craptastic player.  Now, JN is more for the friendly mockery than here, and Lizzie's had some damn good moments as town ... but he's become known for the awful ones.  In other words, Crush was townreading Shad.  That's the exact opposite of making an opportunistic leap to push a townie who had stumbled - and fits much more with the type of play Crush usually makes. 

 

So why did he jump in with both feet on Nyn?

 

I think it was fear of being late to a scum lynch, not pushing a townie train.  Which fits with why he said batmanning, too ... I just don't think scumCrush tosses that in on a push against a townie.

 

2) Seer Cover:  By the end of D3, there were basically 4 seer claimants: Me, Shad, Clov, and Nyn.  Of those, Shad and I pushed it pretty hard, and I sold what I thought was a pretty compelling line about why seerClov would never have hardclaimed there except as cover.  Plus, I had all three of my peeks left alive  ... meaning if I was the seer, the game was mechanically locked the next day.  So scum took a pretty big risk killing Clov instead of me or Shad (or, if she's town, Nyn).  Why?  Both Shad and I listed Nyn as a townpeek .  In other words, if Nyn is scum, then Clov was hanging out there by himself with no cover.  And lo and behold, Clov bites it that night.

 

3) Overreactions.  All game long, Nyn has busted out the AtE every time she's pushed.  She did it with me D1, then with me again yesterday over the concept of leaving the lynch to the known townies.  She only backed off once it became clear that Zander-Thane-Shad had her as an F3 lynch at worst.

 

Look, this is what I do best as town, especially late game.  I put the pieces together.  Right now, the only really scummy thing Nolder has done is defend Crush ... and frankly, I don't know that scumNolder goes out on that limb for a teammate, plus townies get to be wrong, especially D1 and especially where they are concerned that I might be scum leading them around by the nose.  Hell, Shad wanted to lynch me today because he was concerned about that possibility.

 

And that's why you should lynch me today.  If it comes down to F3 with me and Nyn, "fear of manipulative kiv" will lead Zander to vote for me without really crediting this analysis, handing Nyn the win.  I need to be dead confirmed town for Zander to take this analysis seriously - and that means lynch me today.  (FWIW, if that happens and Zander still votes Nolder, and Nyn wins as scum, or votes Nyn and Nolder does, I can live with that ... it's going to be a tough F3 call and he'll have taken in all the analysis and made the best choice he could.  No shame in that either way.  That's mafia).

Kiv, if you're town, you're wrong, And if you're scum, then you overextended yourself. I actually do think Nolder is the last scum and I'm not going to push you unless I'm facing you at F3. I will note, however, that I'm not a fan of you backtracking from the order of the POE that you provided quite a few times throughout the last day. But I'm not going to let it make me tinfoil. I think you might be psyching yourself out. Or you're scum, and you're worried you're gonna end up losing if you face me at F3 (I'd be worried too if I were you). Either way... I'm going Nolder today, unless Thane and Zander feel differently. 

 

 

1. I don't understand why it bothers you that Crusher used the phrase batmmaning. I also don't understand the rationale of what you're inferring from it, even though you tried to explain it several times. Not one of me, Laine or Nolder did. But you keep falling back to that as if it means something. It doesn't. And that's the last I'm gonna say on that because it's absolutely nonsense. I've used the DM slang (abbreviations) on JN as well on occasions. It means nothing. I don't get why you keep pushing this. Let it go.

 

2. Before you pushed me, Crusher spoke of me being antagonistic and not coming across like the inquisitive townieNyn that he's come to know (at least twice that I remember). He was zooming in on me before your vote. And when you gave him an opening to peruse it, he took it. I was having a melt down and reacting badly to the situation. In essence I was a sitting duck and I don't think he had the slightest idea that you were going to turn it on him. I didn't either, for that matter. Up until you sprung the trap on him, I thought that you were legitimately pushing me. It took a while for the shoe to drop... but I eventually got what you were trying to do.

 

3. I'm not a fan of discussing what the NK means, because these things can be twisted around. But I feel compelled to answer what you say, so I'll bite.

 

Shad said to never ever EVER lynch me. He said that if he had to choose between me and Nolder, he would choose to lynch Nolder. He's even made Zander promise to never lynch me. Out of Zander/Thane/ Himself he's been the one who's spoken in my behalf the most.... and you're claiming that as scum I'd choose to shoot him over Thane?  I don't think so. Thane also feels good about me, but he didn't speak half as strongly of it. Not to mention.... that as scum it would benefit me to leave Shad alive to make Nolder look bad. His sole supporter not getting shot? yeah. That would be a nice little hook.

 

Why would ScumNolder shoot Shad over Thane? To make himself look better is a vary valid option. FTR, I do think Nolder is smart enough to make this tactical choice. Thinking otherwise is underestimating him and I'm not going to do that. At the end of the day.... if he ends with me on F3, with Zander being the deciding vote, he's going to lose. He has to think ahead and make himself look better if he wants to win this.

 

And most importantly, leaving Shad alive, like I said earlier, would make him look bad. Think about it. Like.... really think about it. And tell me, with a straight face, that it's not a viable option. Shad was literally the only one speaking in his favor. But at the same time, he's a stronger player, compared to Thane (Thane <3 <3 <3). So, from a strictly play-style perspective,  one would expect Shad to get shot before Thane (Shad is a lot more outspoken than Thane. He's around more. And he digs deeper). ***FTR, this isn't criticism, just different ways of playing.

 

If it was Thane that got shot... I would have been even more suspicious of Nolder right now.  Keeping Shad alive and making himself look worse... or shooting Shad so we would assume he wouldn't do that as scum and make himself look slightly better?  FTR, I think Nolder would have gotten lynched even if Shad was still around, but that just my opinion.

 

SO.... Considering there's a very good possibility that he would lose if he gets to F3 with me.... which do you think he's going to choose? The solution that might help him in the short run but still screw him over in the end.... or the one that might give him a semblance of chance?

 

FTR... I could also see reasons why KivScum would shoot Shad.... but we can talk about that if/when we get to F3.

 

 

 

4. The seer cover point is moot, imo. A lot of players hadn't really bothered to do a proper seer cover up until AFTER  Clov claimed. I didn't do it because I claimed VT D1 and thought it was pointless. Most of the players complied to your request to provide it cause we were trying to play along..... but only starting to provide proper cover once Clov claimed was not going to work.

 

Besides, Clov's claim post was ****ing compelling. He laid out the plan and said the game was practically locked. I said it then and I'll say it again... it was pretty apparent that he wasn't fibbing. I know you came in and fussed around it.... but come on.... it was painfully obvious. Clov didn't pussy-foot the claim. He landed it down in such a manner that I doubt any of the following attempts to cover for him would have made much of a difference. fwiw, the at the time the only one who seemed to have a descent cover was you. But I was still positive Clov was being truthful. I didn't expect to see any other name once the night was over. So you trying to make the connection between a seer cover on me resulting in Clov's NK is laughable, at best. 

 

5. About my overreactions. I think AJ's comment about it was the most appropriate one. He said he'd never seen me do it before and it caught him off guard. It's true. I don't emo. I sub out of games before it happens. I am undergoing some RL issues. I said in the sign up it might bleed into the game. I was considering subbing out, but since I dicked BFG around in the sign ups.... ie signing up... then bowing out... then signing up again when the game was missing one player to start.... I didn't want to just sub out 5 seconds into the game. So I tried to get my head back in the game and bounce back from that. At the end of the day.... I think I can say in high certainty that I've never emoed in a game as either scum or town. So this should be null, if anything. If you want to interpret that as a scum tell, go ahead. But you have no legs to stand on irt this.
