I wont be voting seph today and im actually pretty close to leaning town on him. Based off what i learnt about him when mentoring. He was town then and i am seeing a lot of the same town and puppylike overeagerness that gets him hit with signs.

Am looking at Shad   was concerned he was fencesitting on seph but then he dropped the vote. reevaluating.

Bleh, I don't like that Thane is basing town reads off of spammy chatter at the beginning of game, it's free passes that are not warranted.

Thane already answwered this but i was gonna say it was tone based

Tone reading? Sould reading? Does it actually work for anyone?

yes it does. Tone at least. Ive caught AJ off one word, Laine off one response to me all based on tone.  Its not fool proof but it DOES work. Some people are good at it some arnt. I think the gut instinctual players are better at it then the critical thinkers ones

Yeah, I think Seph blundered this, dont particularly like it, but the way he has been posting makes me feel town blunder rather than wolf. He is very careful and more articulate when wolf. This is all over the place.

@Darthe - what does the 401k mean...is that your salary :/ sounds like a great job, hope you settle in ok.

I'm guessing you don't like that I didn't vote you yet.  I suspect that, had I voted you, you wouldn't like that either.  Stupid games like this get what they ask for.  [v]Seph[/v]

Why are you voting Seph after he mentions it, if you thought him wolf why didn't you do it before.

Blue - What's a good example of a game where Seph was wolf?

Red - I saw no profit before.  Now I have more good Sooh vibes and a decent post by Darthe to work with.  Kiv's reaction concerns me a little because I get the eerie feeling that he knows I'm town.

As for Seph, I don't know what to make of him.  I expect him to do goofy things that look bad but his reactions to me are different from our last game together.  I'll keep my vote where it's at for now and see how things progress.

should Darthe wield the axe... would be good, he'd be town then

Thane and seph have a wolf between them I think

Darthe... I usually like your early reads, but going 0-2 on page 5 is not a good look, I think that job is affecting your brain!

Why are you so sure he went 0-2? And even if you are a townie who is that sure of your 5-page read of Thane, why are you defaulting to "Darthe is a townie making bad reads" instead of "Darthe may be scum setting up a false choice"?

How do you get Seph defaulting to 'Darthe is a townie making bad reads' from his quote. Seph says he thinks Darthe is 0 for 2 and that's not a good look. If anything Seph is sounding suspicious of Darthe is the initial post

Leelou, I was voting darthe to get a reaction out of him, plain and simple.

0% the soul read was simply for fun, ad i figured by placing a vote, referencing it people wouod realize it as a joke. Which most did mind you.

It's page 7...point me to somone who is actively scum hunting with only half the game checked in leelou.

The reactions I got towards the post however, will help towards hunting.

Red is reasonable.  Green really isn't when you are someone who I know makes serious votes early in a game without much to back them.  If you're town, try to keep in mind that it's ok to look derpy sometimes even if you really aren't.  This reads to me like you're digging for an out rather than explaining your thought process.
Because here it looks like you were giving me a pass. Every other game I have been in with you, when you find something suspicious, you usually lay down a vote. I found d it odd is all

Does this, in your opinion, undermine my assessment of your game so far?

I don't see how that is even related. Your opinion is yours, and it's my choice to agree or disagree. I have stated what i felt uncomfortable, never did I call your reads, or case crappy, I think it was more of a misunderstanding, or you are trying to make something more out of it.

I'm going to [v]unvote[/v]. Seph's reaction to pressure seemed believable to me. I'm still concerned by the potential TMI slip more than anything, so I'm not exactly tossing Seph into the townpile, but it's not enough to justify a bandwagon this early. That said, I'm pretty annoyed by the pressure Shad is getting for his vote ... was hoping to see another few people hop onto the Seph lynch when it seemed like low hanging fruit before unvoting. That won't be happening now.By proxy do you think pressure on shad was generally something townies would do?
I honestly can't say. Could be townies picking up on concerns with shad's vote, could be scum distancing, or it could be scum pouncing on an opportunity. Until i have more information, I don't know. For now, it's a null tell, on both their alignment and shad's, since there's ample motive no matter how the alignments shake out (town/town, town/scum, scum/scum or scum/town)Similarly, if you're asking if i think the pressure was designed to scuttle bandwagon votes on Seph, i don't know. That wasn't my initial sense, mainly because after all the back and forth i have a mild town lean on Seph, but it's definitely something to keep in mind if Seph flips scum. Tl;dr: ask me again after a few game daysSent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk

Serious serious question?

Yes, why?

Odd mix of awareness/unawareness

At the time you first brought up Tina, Tina and Darthe are the only people to have not posted. Darthe posts immediately after, leaving just Tina. When you question Seph later, you seem aware that Darthe hadn't checked in for the 'soul read' at that point, indicating some knowledge of whose been around and who wasn't, which then makes the question above strange.

Darthe got a new job AMA

New job is scary, full commission after week 8 and idk a lot of people in this area cause I just moved here so not sure how to get people interested in investing with me or buying insurance. However it's a good company. Paid time off 3 weeks a year, 401k and fully funded pension, quarterly bonuses, starting out on salary to let me get my legs under me, dental, medical, life, they have nice benefits and have shown me so far that they'll spend money to get me what I need to be effective. This week hasn't been hard but also hasn't been productive , still getting settled in.

Congrats and good luck!

BTW, Shad, serious question - you think emo is a town tell?  To me, it usually signals scum flailing

I think that's a silly generalization and you have to look at the root of what's upsetting someone.  People are more transparent when you get them fired up, and Seph happened to enter that game with a real chip on his shoulder so it was easy to exploit it and extract his alignment.

BTW, I think it's complete BS that you would make a response to a basic question about game strategy into a personal attack.  "Silly generalization"?  Show a bit of respect

You are kidding, right?

Of course.  Like I said, emo is too easy to fake.  Just pick some imagined slight, blow it up into a personal attack, and start lashing out while complaining that people are against you.

Which is why my personal preference is for Emo-play to be an autolynch.  Not only does it eliminate fake emo as a strategy, but it keeps the games fun.

/soapbox.

BTW, serious question - who hasn't checked in yet.  I know Tina hasn't.  Anyone else?

-_-

Obviously doesn't prove your point, but clever bait.  Shad has a town lean on somebody.  Yay.

You're going to have to talk me through this one...

Eh, remember when I laid a sort of trap at the start of Belichick?  I feel like I fell into one here.  His push on me was stupid but he'd pre-planned an out for it.  I do things like that to get reads on people when I see an opportunity to, so I want to believe he was doing the same.  Not that my reaction could have told him much.  <_<

This is the sort of assumptive defensiveness I have been digging for.  Not enough to make me feel great about you but a positive sign.

The potential, which I would have never recognized without the response. Does that make sense?

Can you explain your reads on Kivam and Seph up to this point?
