They don't really work.  Meant to tell you that last game when we were teammates.  They always look like a person is trying to pass of a summary like it's analysis.

One thing that jumped out to me while I was going back through: Can I get in on this 'Book of Reading Dice'? He confuses me. AJ, why is he a villager?

@Leelou This is different than what we discussed in your dead thread. I would have left the vote on there if I had realized they were a hydra. It isn't obvious who is and isn't. I had to pull up the signup thread to check.

 

@Dice You were clearly aware that the post exchange you voted Durin for was made between their hydra. You still voted it. I don't see why, as it appears as harmless to me.

 

I don't like that Leelou keeps explaining herself about how she feels about “Sooh pulling a Heart”. Why do you keep bringing it up?

 

I haven't liked Seph's game so far, but I don't see it as wolfy. Just bad.

Shad - when you read this - THESE are the posts from Dice you need to look for when he's a townie.

 

Do you believe someone would claim mafia in their first post? Cause I do. Ive seen it and ive done EXACTLY what i did there. I know turin and darthe are together. I know that that post by Turin COULD be a joke. Same as I knew that Tommy claiming mafia RB one game COULD have been a joke. But guess what? It wasnt. I voted him as soon aas he made it. i did the same here. Its a real vote.

 

Darthe is wild enuff to try a gambit like that. Turin is smooth enuff to pull that gambit off.  I will move that vote if i feel i need to but until they prove to me they are town i am just gonna keep coming back to it.

 

And im paranoid enuff that in order to prove it 3 things have to happen 1 Godfather (if theres one) flips 2 Cop claims they are town and 3 cop then flips.  

 

Obviously i will read them my way but its gonna take something solid to lock them town.

I actually do consider activity to be one of my more prominent tells when I am focused on a single game (when I have multiples I slank a little in ones that captivate me less).  

 

Only had 361 posts in the American Gods game.  It was my focus.

 

The game before the most recent one in the black tower I had like 420 posts in a day phase or two.   

 

This game I'll probably not be quite that hyped since I have a lot of work but ya'll should still see a discernible difference.  

 

Don't like this post very much. It's along the lines of pointing at things you wouldn't do as a wolf when you're a wolf. Pointing to your post count isn't relevant imo and not clearing for you

 

i'm mulling over the idea of a game with 9 slots. all hydras. 18 total players. hydras would have a different feel if everyone had one

 

Csarmi ran one already, was fun. You should ask him about it.

Heart - I see she never showed up 18 hours later like she said she was going to.

Stopping after pg 48. Will power through the rest tomorrow but thus far I am pretty happy with my progress. Something of note that I didn't quote because I knew I would run out of space was that I really disliked Tayla's handling of Zander. I think he responded well to it though, so more villagery vibes for him. I also liked Verb's way of pointing out the inconsistency he spotted with Sili - Sili explained himself decently but I still think the disconnect was pretty bad looking on his part.

Wombat has more experience with him so is probably the better judge. I'll go out on a limb and say if Seph proves to be a villager later that this vote doesn't look very good.

 

Dice is so obviously town it hurts.  Gut read says Durin is as well, but I'm not going to ignore that Salami made a good point about them.

 

Could be v/v. I agree that Csarmi made a decent point though - and reading through I've noticed that most of Turin's posts are centralized around arguing with Dice/Yates about percentages or continuing to restate the false narrative that I voted Seph early for out-of-game reasons. Not much hunting from his part despite Darthe's overwhelming volume.

Figured I should quote these as I find them because I like to keep track of vote movements. This is pretty key to solving games imo. Most notable thing I see here is that I'm not sure I would buy into the theory that Durin/Leelou would both be on AH as wolves together, but meh.

 

This post is all you need to see from Dice to know he's a villager.  Hell, his post could have contained only the words "I don't get bullied out of reads".

 

Pretty much have to agree with this and I stated as much in my last MQ. Sort of weird to mindmeld with someone after the fact, but there it is. Decent observation by Verb.

This is really really dumb. The fact he's voting you for it means it's 51% or better. What's the point in pushing Dice on quantifying something that is, by his own admission, based on speculation? The more you guys do this stuff the more I think he might be on to something.

Kinda love this post by Yates. I snipped out the other quotes because I had too many but I'm not even gonna fault him for scum reading AH here - I know he likes to smoke out the non-active players.

 

@ Darthe - No I don't want "Lip Licking" over seph (sorry seph), I was explaining why I had the thought of wolf, but I had Seph more town than AJ in that convo between the two, the ony thing that made me think w/w was why would AJ go like that after someone, with nothing. One of the thoughts was if they were w/w. I still think the tunneling by AJ was forced, he looked like he was finding a reason to vote Seph from the start. Seph was like a little boy in the playground watching how the big boys playing mafia and wanting to emulate them. the only thing I had against Seph was the "Know you were town", but thinking about that it's more than likely to do with the seer cover he was doing.

 

I still don't get Dice's push on Durin over the N0 Peek (which was the second post of the game). Dice - What did you think of the AJ/Seph spat, what are your current reads on people? I get the same feeling over this as the AJ push on Seph. But I have seen the last couple of games start with this and the person who gets lynched is town and the person pushing is also town. So I want to step back and look at that better.

 

Still don't think you're making a ton of sense. I also think at this point it's pretty obvious what Dice's issue with Durin is... so how are you still confused by it? I don't know you well enough to say that I think you'd purposely play obtuse as a wolf - but you're sort of stretching my ability to believe that you don't understand the current thread events at this point of the game.

Even so - I saw your posts earlier about Leelou and I think they're good enough at face value not to suspect you over them yet.

 

 

I have Eldrick as null actually. I haven't seen him be uber villagery yet.

 

The reason I'm putting him as a villager is that he's providing thoughts on several players, which shows he's paying attention and not going through the motions.  Scum!Eldrick comes out of the woodwork with random posts that scream wolf, but Town!Eldrick does what he's doing here (imo) - show follow up with multiple players and progress based on feedback from other sources.

 

If he's not screaming wolf, it means he's probably not one.

 

Gonna agree with this as well. The one time I played vs Eldrick as a wolf he was caught out pretty hard on D1 and I like the way he's navigating through this game from what I've seen so far. Solid explanation - I have Verb trending towards villagery for his posts around this part of the game.

Side note: I won't really be that active today. I'm going to be away from my desk most of the day and there will be 2 meetings will champagne. 

 

I'm generally bothered that Leelou is focused on AH's activity.  In the game Leelou just moderated, AH got mislynched and her inactivity D1 was a large factor in why she was unable to clear herself late in the game.  AH is well aware that her particularly detached silence makes her a huge target--more than other silent players.  This makes me think that her absence is probably a genuine lack of time that persists through both her wolf and her town games.  AH knows it's not a viable wolf strat for her game; it's not really indicative of anything at this point.  I feel like players who just watched her get mislynched four days ago should be on a similar page as me with this.

 

The fact that she said she'd come back in 18 hours and didn't makes her really easy meat for wolves, like maybe [v]Leelou[/v].

 

Also, AH saying she'd share thoughts when she got back home from work and then saying she hoped she'd have thoughts to share when she got back home from work is a really petty "inconsistency" to focus on.

 

I'm struggling to keep Sili in my null pile and his posts about AH are one part of that.  I was really hoping AH would show up and I could see how Sili and Leelou handled her, but she hasn't yet and I wanted to get my thoughts out there.  I'm a little annoyed at AH for all this, but I'll base my opinion on what she actually says when she gets here.  Last game, when AH finally showed up she showed up in force.

 

Extremely keen observation by Shad, this is the post I was referring to earlier when I said he was clear. He has zero need to vote his partner in Leelou in this situation so this post locks him as a villager imo.

 

Dice fooled me pretty bad in Mass Effect, so what I thought I knew about him and his way of playing is out the window for me. Him tunneling like this is his town game?

 

I'd like for you to expound on this a bit, if you would. I don't doubt my read on Dice - but I also haven't seen him wolf in a very long time and I didn't follow the ME game at all.

 

had a quick look on Dice in the last couple of games I was in and it seems to me Dice as wolf, comments more about people rather than to them, and doesn't say so much when he posts, and more fluff posts. So this would make me lean town on his posts here.

 

Worth noting, I guess. Not really going to give brownie points for it though.

Do you always vote players who vote your peek?  Defending their actions as town is one thing but voting a player with a different opinion is another.  So the only reason you voted Dice was because he voted your peek?

I think Sephs play is legitimately wolfy. I think AJ DOES have a grudge but that that Sephs play is something AJ would jump on. Thing is he would jump on it as either alignment i just dont think he'd be quite so full on about it as a mafia. He doesn't seem worried that it could go all wrong and seph turns out to be the cop or something, making AJ look bad.

Ok. Caught up to when I to work, now. Gonna finish reading the day, and see how that went down.

 

I did check to see who we got before I started reading, though. I was amazed that we managed to snag the GF on Day 1. Good job guys!

 

I'm not sure how this makes me feel about Heart leaving her vote on Leelou. Leelou's alignment doesn't clear Heart. I have firsthand knowledge that Wolf!Leelou can tunnel her teammate. She did it to me in the Arthurian game.

Things I came across while reading those 15 pages. Some are MQ'd in hindsight to Leelou's alignment.

 

 

So to summarize:

Villagers wanna solve the game and lynch wolves. They're evaluating and re-evaluating.
Wolves wanna lynch villagers. For various psychological and tactical reasons (inner and outer image) they wanna lynch people who "look bad". They're looking for reasonings to justify their actions.

Not sure I can explain better.

@Zander - you can be a wolf there who finally found a justification (or a townie on the wrong track)

I don't see why you have a problem with this. I actually like this summary, and the basis behind it. The point he made out about the wording is a good one. I wanna say it was Zander he was responding to. I'll have to double check that.

 

Screw it maybe I die for this but I think all of today's lynches with the exception of maybe Leelou are wrong.

One of the hindsight posts. Just wanted to refresh everyone's memory that you said this about Leelou. Not sure how to feel about it. I could see it going both ways.

We're not in trouble.  I have some solid villager reads right now, and I doubt I'm wrong on more than 1 of them (if any).  This means lynching from the rest is ok by me for now, until potential NKs in my village pool make me need to add more players to it.

 

I'm ok with this approach for D1/D2, btw.

This made me think of the concept of the hydras being masonized together. I don't know why, but I find it funny.
