You bypassed giving a percentage chance you believe I would make that claim as mafia. I will ask you for that now.

This is really really dumb. The fact he's voting you for it means it's 51% or better. What's the point in pushing Dice on quantifying something that is, by his own admission, based on speculation? The more you guys do this stuff the more I think he might be on to something.

 

 Above is the beginning of the conversation. Yates states clearly that the fact he is voting me means it is =>51%. Dice actually stated it as "pretty low". The reason to ask is that the suspicion needs to add up to a reasonable percentage in order for it to be a proper push. Let's say that Dice believes I did this at 10%. That would mean that I am 10% to be a wolf. Rand is about 25% so it still is <rand that my slot is mafia. For him to push at me(and Darthe) in this situation is silly. You could just as well say that someone would be mafia for posting a smiley.    

 

Where if he believes it at something like 50%, then it would be worth pushing. He didn't say coin flip or anything else to imply that he felt it was that likely. Therefore he is just blowing hot air and waving his arms around talking tough. 

 

 

Dice admitted that the percentage for me making that post as wolf was "pretty low". To me that is not =>51% as you stated.

Now who's not reading the thread? What, in your opinion, was the point I was making when I questioned your rationale for quantifying that read? Because I'd still like for you to address that...

 

I gave my answer to what I am guessing you were asking about in the first post. The question in the second post does not equal the question in the first post. I frankly don't know what you are on about so if you could explain it again using small words it might help.

 

My best guess is that you were trying to make me look bad because I asked him to quantify his level of belief (or his thought of likelihood).  

 

Bottom line is I asked in order to gauge whether he had sufficient believe to justify his actions of voting and making a big stink and posturing in an OTT manner that parodies his town meta. The same meta he claims to not be able to properly emulate as mafia.

srsly tho, I would say that Darthe just has a certain manner in how he plays the game that can rub people the wrong way. He is relentless in a Marvin the Martian way. If your play obstructs his view of the game in total he gets very upset with you.

Seph, I just want you to really think out what you're trying to accomplish when you say things dude.  We've been in 4-6 games together now and you shouldn't still be such a liability.  I think I can help.  Prob not in game but until then it's why I asked that question I asked a couple days ago that you didn't really respond to.  What is your objective and how are you going about accomplishing it (them).  I'd really love a concrete, firm answer to that like "I think x is a wolf so I'm doing x y and z to show that and here are posts where I did these things and here is how I meant them but people took them this way instead and it threw me off" kinda things.  Those would be incredibly beneficial for everyone trying to read you.

Btw seph sorry if that is upsetting.  I'm not trying to rain on your parade or anything, I'm earnestly interested in figuring you out and that dictates (IMO) that I not sugarcoat what I want from you and where you're not meeting up to it.  Also you've clearly got a knack for the game if you'd get out of your own way.

obv im no expert lol but i decided to work on trying to show everyone im town first cause mislynching a towny is no help at all.  big game move and claims and solid reads will come in time imo.

Sure you can say that but it's all very abstract and theoretical in those terms.

 

Allow me to show you what I mean.  I started with nothing in this game but my own role PM.  This told me I was town, immediately informing me that my goal is to find wolves.  Well... I suck at finding wolves.  I know this, it'll take me a while or take someone making a decently obvious error for me to find one.  So I immediately started taking things that I did know, people I had played with before, mechanical knowledge, what generally informs peoples actions that I've picked up on over time, and applying it to the thread.  I noticed that in the first ten posts Sili posted four times.  Last game I was a wolf with Sili and he told me that he has a very hard time posting as a wolf and that he was giving his best effort.  I recognized this as true and realized that Sili posting that many times that quickly was a good sign for him so I kept track of it to see if his interest in figuring out the game or activity level slacked off.  They didn't.  Thus I feel confident beyond randomness that Sili is town.

 

You see that?  I had an objective, I used things I have learned and discerned to inform my interpretation of plays and then it got me a step closer to completing my objective of figuring out Sili's alignment.  Sometimes I do this with things like figuring out how many wolves are in a game, how people would have responded retroactively if they were attempting to manipulate events, who has what role, many many things.  It helps to have a lot of experience but at its core all you need is logic and care.
