did the role pms really not tell sili he was a symp or that he could choose to win with town if he was lynched or Zander he was town backup?

 

and was this the first time mafia conceded on DM? not that it would have mattered except for sili's soul in this case but I don't think I've ever seen that happen before.

Only thing that would have really jacked this game up is if Sili had been viewed instead of Dice. Then short of someone noticing the write-up on my death him and Yates would have been pretty impossible to lynch.

 

Had the same thought. It's a shame. *shrug*

 

 

I think it might be the first formal mafia concession I've seen here, but it didn't really make much of a difference other than saving some time.  No matter who he shot, he woulda been hyperlynched.

 

I'm actually really proud of him for doing it.

 

In the end all I wanted was to be a good guy, like darth vader.

I watched Troy when it came on TV a while back and it was really weird to know that Sean Bean was guaranteed to survive.  I mean sure it takes him like 20 years to get home but that's a step up imo.

I feel so sad for anakin now. I never saw a role with an unknown win con in a regular game before. like even if you get recruited by a blech cult you get your new win con splained, no?

I've had an alignment trigger role in one of my games before. Basically did it the same.

 

Imagine poor Sili's psyche if he was told from the get go "hey, you're villa but if this person dies who you don't know then you're gonna turn to the dark side. GLGL"

I added the secret bit about him being able to win with town if he died and a teammate was alive because at the point Sili got converted the wolf team was getting destroyed (this was going into d3) and Sili was having a really good game and I felt really bad about him getting recruited to the other side. Which is probably not the correct way to moderate but at the time I just really didn't want to punish him for playing well because of a game mechanic.

 

Yes, overall this game was very swingy. I don't really think that "if the Vader role doesn't get recruited the wolf team has no chance" is a valid argument, considering the Mafia team had substantial power roles. Not just a godfather, but an every night roleblocker (which was to help balance the universal backup and keep the cop roles from being overtly game-solving) and also a janitor and a N2 vigilante to help with the early PR hunt.

 

The biggest problem was that the two most powerful wolf roles got lynched d1 and d2. I wouldn't fault the set-up for that, it's just how it happened. You can say the same thing about Sili being peeked that you can say in a game where Sili never flips and Leelou gets peeked. There was substantial firepower on that side, they just never got to use it.

He would get to choose.

I literally can't tell him that, because he is supposed to be a member of the wolf team. If I say "if you get lynched, you can choose to be a villager", he no longer has to play the game, he can just out his entire team if he wants to and jester himself to a lynch.

He was never intended to be a town symp on the Mafia team. I have literally no idea how you could make a role like that work, lol.

I've actually played a role like this before in one of the BT Christmas games. I was on the mafia team and QT, but was a town symp in that I had the analyzer role. Every night I would pick a town member to send the number of mafia on a lynch train to.

Dunno why ppl got fussed about solo survivor driving the doc lynch. They was third party and they survived so yay!

 

And town won too so yay!

 

Srsly after D1 this was the funnest game to read. You all did beautifully, it was such a lovely dance to watch.
