Sili always baffles me, as you may recall from previous games I am not good at reading him and generally dislike the process of trying to figure him out.

 

You should explain what exactly is wrong with me that makes you dislike playing with me.

I didn't say I dislike playing with you, i said I can't read you well and dislike the process of trying.

 

The reason I dislike trying to figure you out is that you say so damn many things that would never occur to me as a good idea to say, plus your post volume is high in general, that sorting through it all to make sense of your alignment makes my head hurt.

This is just pathetic. My suspicion wasn't contrived. It's how I read what you said. It's the first thing all game that felt scummy to me, ergo you got my vote. I see your vote on me as OMGUS, and it doesn't faze me. Nice try, though.

 

 

 

Well I can't sleep, so I might as well eat. Sleeping and eating, my two favorite hobbies.I am leaning voting for Zander, I have not done so because I see others have voted for him and I do not wish to create a runaway wagon which may harm discussion and relieve pressure on everyone else as well.If the game is multiball, as I understand the term, that means we have a large number of guilty parties.The discussion will, invariably, die if there are a large number of guilty parties and almost no reason for them to feel under pressure.What will happen next is easy smokescreening. Saying Zander is your lynch choice today implies that you intend to move your vote there. It doesn't add up with you calling it a runway train. You're just waiting for the right moment to put your vote on him, and that looks really bad. If you really do think he's scum, there is no reason to not put your vote on him.

 

 

Yes there is indeed a reason. You don't get to make such sweeping declarations.

 

And if you were at all curious what the reason was, you'd ask, but you're not actually looking for an answer, but a conclusion.

 

 

I actually am curious. Why can't you vote someone who you suspect to be mafia, while still prodding other people? Do you really think Zander is mafia, or are you just saying that?

 

 

I'm not questioning his prodding everybody. It's a good idea. Something I'm not very good at, but I'm still glad it's being done. My issue is with his voting. These are two very different things.

Why is Sooh Town? Besides the reason I gave AJ for your read, I mean?

 

She's still learning. I don't feel that she's confident enough yet to begin voting early and then unvoting a lot in an early part of a game.

I am not underestimating her, or her mentor, but let's say she were guilty. If so, she may wish to find a reasonable and safe vote and plop it down to minimize risk, park it on one person for a while.

If she's prodding people, she's contributing to the solve and leaving more information about herself in the thread with which to trip herself up or her guilty team later.

I don't know if she wants to do that yet.

I also haven't seen her play before, so I have selfish reasons. I want to see her work unpressured for a while, and learn what her baseline read is, for whatever role she may have, or alignment.

Then, I will feel more confident reading her later on in the game, or in future games.

If that baseline is spoiled by vote pressure, which is much harder for new players to deal with, it will be harder for me to know where she's coming from later on, at a critical moment in the game, should she survive that long.

 

 

It was my understanding that her first 2 votes were joke votes. It doesn't say anything about her alignment IMO.

What exactly was this criteria? I understand he hasn't played in a while, but neither have you. I also understand that the "speculation" he was making was not nearly as in depth as others (Yates, Pizza) were making. I feel like you're being particularly tunnely all around.

 

 

 

 

someone who is new is less likely to make grand scheme talks, if it had just been to ask about the multiball term which I must admit is a new term to me as well I wouldn't have questioned it. However he goes on to make other posts about mechanics and sounds a little too informed while doing so.

 

 

I think when you're new you try to understand game balance and set ups more; it's an easy topic. But if Eldrick is informed enough to speak knowledgeably I think that should mean he's not as new as you thought he was.

To both of you I can't speak as to why as it involves not just this game. In general he is rubbing me wrong and seems too knowledgable about this game hence I don't trust him.

 

 

What did I say that seemed to be "too knowledgeable about this game"? I had general speculations that, because this is an advanced game, could be in this. I don't have any knowledge about this game specifically, and was just joining in with the current conversation. I am familiar with how recruits work, so I added my input to the question at hand.

I played in two of Eldrick's games in 2010, how long have you been playing EP? I just don't see what experience has to do with it. And by that turn of logic, why you aren't equally fosing others who were in the same conversation with Eldrick about the game setup. That is all.

Were you in my RTS game? That was one of my finer moments. Cult, Mafia, and Town. Each faction immune to one of the others.

^^ Every once in a while I remember a couple of the tricks my scum mates use to their advantage. Cory "read" Tina as Town to pocket her for the game. Also, I don't recall but did you Town read her right away in that game?

I just did a quick check and I don't think you did. In fact, you agreed with someone about Tina looking suspicious for saying Cory usually reads her well and she would be concerned if he didn't read her Town. Then a few posts later you say she usually reads YOU pretty well. Do you still think this? Does Tina usually read you pretty well?

 

 

No i dont think i did but my recall of it isnt perfect. I usually see Town Tina pretty quick. im not perfect tho  if her activity is kinda spotty i can miss it. 

 

And thats part of the problem i had with her   i thought i was totally on my TownDice meta something she usually sees easily and she was sus of me that game.

Yes, Yates. I've been rolling the idea around in my head most of the day that he could be scum here. It's a little hard to articulate but I am just getting bad vibes from him. Usually by now I think I would feel reasonably okay about him if he were a villager considering the amount of content he has. The fact that I don't worries me. There's some things he's done that trouble me and I feel like since I am shoring up on some of my villager reads and he is left out of them this is a positive direction for me to move in.

 

For instance, I wasn't particularly fond of the way he reacted to Sooh voting him earlier. The way he postured around Seph and the EP wagons made me uncomfortable then and still does now in light of EP's soft balling and Seph's later profession. He hedged on his read of Zander saying he liked the post but also leaves himself open to possibly move there later. I also think he went over the top complimenting Tina on her posts and I'm curious as to his focus regarding me and my read of her. He also made a comment towards her early on that basically soft balled a town read on her slot. I haven't really decided how I feel about the entire interaction completely but I could see scum!Yates doing this as a pocketing attempt on a town!Tina

The thing i have noticed,  particularly when i answered him above was that I cant point to anything and say thats typical yates. Aside from the pumpkin thing but that was kinda meh to me actually cause id seen it before.

 

His posts that I responded to can definetly be taken 2 ways and im umming and ahhing which way to go. I shouldnt be doing that with him.

Not sure on Dice yet, which has me slightly worried - I'm usually pretty sure of him when he's town rather quickly, but I don't know when was the last time I played with him in this size of a game as town so I'm not sure if it's due to the size of the game or the alignment in his role PM.  We were both in the Avengers: Age of Ultron game, which was 24 players, but he was mafia there, so he was characteristically hanging back.  Most of the time when I'm sure about him it's in a smaller game where he's able to be more front and center, but I feel like he's less opinionated this game than I expect from Town!Dice.

@ cass  im with Tress on remembering EP play. I saw him mostly as town but he tended to be like a more annoying FullDarthe. Big schemes that never worked. Im not sure if i ever saw him as mafia. definetly cant remember it

I can't do two games at once. I dropped out of Heart's game, and am fully committed to this one. I'm going to start my reread, and try to get reads on people.

 

So far I have a town lean on AJ and Sili, and a slight scum lean on Pizza.

 

I have really liked AJ's game so far. He has strong opinions and makes a lot of sense.

 

Sili has been acting the way I've seen him act as town. I don't know if he acts differently as scum, but for now this puts him as town for me.

 

I've felt off about Pizza. I voted him on a comment that felt like backtracking, and there's the problem with him suspecting Zander, but not voting him.

 

I'm not happy with Verb's play so far. It's not scummy, but it's annoying. Being he won't read the thread, and hasn't really said anything useful, I don't have a proper read on him. I want him to be town. A town Verb is a good thing to have!

 

I know how EP feels about me, but I don't have a read on him yet.

 

I haven't really noticed anyone else yet. I'm going to do back and look at everything that's happened now. I'll have a new reads list once I'm done.

I think the point was valid and with the whole misquote thing I may have reacted in a knee-jerk fashion. Still seems weird to me but maybe she just wasn't paying attention. To quote Leelou I probably jumped the gun there.

I don't see why you would think a misquote was at all alignment indicative. It was quite clear to me, even at the time, that she quoted the wrong posts. I had a note to ask her wtf then saw that she had rectified the situation. That flow did not come across as even remotely suspicious.

 

 

And I'd like AJ to clear me before I say any more on that subject because I want him to feel like his inquiry was untainted by my opinion on the matter.

Sooh is a little tougher. She came out of the starting lines wolfy. I'm also surprised at her surprisingly low effort [in terms of both post count and content] considering her mentor. While I'm not holding that against her specifically, my concern is that I know she was excited about the game and the situation so I was expecting to see a lot more volume from a Town Sooh. And that's not happening. I'm not ready to call her scum yet, but she's firmly entrenched in the "I've got my eye on you" null pile.

I feel keep having mixed feeling on yates. I am going to take a page from tress and ask someone to cop him.

A Town read on Yates grows on you - like a Seph infection. Day 2 is when you all come around on me and I become the obvious beacon of Townieness that I am. Ask Pizza. He has first hand knowledge of this.

 

I'll probably have this game pretty much solved by tomorrow so I'm not too worried about what people think about me at this point in time. I think a cop view on me would be a waste of a cop view since I'll be one of the stronger Town reads by tomorrow but if it helps you sleep better at night? Do what you've got to do.
