On Epicmafia, when any 3rd party wins, the game automatically ends, meaning town loses. Kaylee probably isn't doing it that way this game, but I see no reason to let some 3rd party with questionable motives screw up our game. We have no way of knowing Alanna's alignment other than from what Arsis has told us. And i don't trust him at all.

I didn't know that. My only experience with 3rd party wins (not counting survivor) is jester. When they win, the game continues.

 

 

Yeah, it's been that way on DM for a while.  A Jester win ending the game is only fun for the Jester.  Which is why I'm guessing Kaylee isn't going to let them game end like that this game.

Besides, if Arsis fulfills his 2nd wincon who cares?  As you noted, the games is almost certainly not going to end.  And we have a confirmed non-mafia if that win is announced in-thread which turns a 3rd party neutral into basically an IC.  I still don't see how that would hurt the Town.

 

As far as trusting Alanna more?  Arsis *did* know who got the doll.  So at WORST he is 3rd party neutral and NOT scum.  That means votes for Arsis are bad.

I don't like the way Arsis presented his case. He gave us the impression that Alanna was evil, not the item. He came forward later and corrected that assumption.

Well, he wouldn't know, right? If his item/powers/whatever allow him to see if a role/item/artifact is evil, why would he assume the person was GIVEN an evil artifact? This is my Alanna logic in reverse. If someone accuses me of being scum when I'm VT via some type of investigation, I don't just assume they are telling the truth. If I'm an investigator and receive a guilty result, I don't just assume it's because of some type of NA shens.

 

Ultimately, Cass' thought here is going to sway me:

Yeah. I remember how Dice's 2nd wincon was to steal Excalibur. Now that everyone knows who has the doll, I'm afraid this can be used to hurt us. So EVEN IF Alanna is Town - which is debatable at this point - she is just a VT and in possession of an item that could potentially hurt the Town. For this reason, I absolutely think the SAFEST play here is to vote for Alanna and get rid of a potential scum slot - in case she is lying about the item - or a potentially harmful item at the cost of a VT - even a VT whose game play and opinions I value as much as Alanna's.

 

I'm going to finish my catch up but will almost certainly be voting Alanna today.

 

 

I had considered this, which is why I wanted to see some discussion about the doll. I'm just concerned because me dying could also means the doll goes to someone else. But it's all just a toss-up anyway, I suppose.

 

@Sooh, I didn't contradict myself about when I received the doll. I logged on after Day 2 had begun and had received it via PM from the Mod. I assume I received it via a night action that happened, you know, during the night. 

 

I don't know, I'm kind of ambivalent about it at this point. It's hard to decide what the best thing is without having any clue what happens to the doll if I die. But I know I'm town, and I can't help but feel that the better thing would be to try and lynch scum today.

I am seriously considering this hammer, for the possible benefit of confirming a 3rd party neutral and removing a dangerous object from the game.

 

Like I said though, I have no experience with articles other than the Arthurian game, and I'm concerned that the game will end if the 3rd party achieves their wincon. Asked Kaylee/Darthe and got (not unexpectedly) PAFO.

 

In the Arthurian DT, Alanna seemed to confirm that it was simply an alternate wincon/that it wouldn't end the game, and I know that the item perished when the holder was killed. If this happens here we avoid being stuck in this dilemma again at a later stage.

 

I'm going to trust that the game will not end, and hope that the item doesn't get passed on. 

 

Along with her defensiveness after voting Sili, the possibility that she's lying about when she received the doll (potentially it's hers, making her the 3rd party) and the fact that Alanna is pushing the idea that the doll might be passed on/and angling to get out of a lynch that helps Town concerns me.

 

On top of that, none of my top picks for scum are on this train, which suggests they don't want it to happen.

At worst Arsis is scum and had some sort of scum cop role.  That being said, my main motivation was not a scum read on Arsis, but a town lean on Alanna combined with extreme distrust of Arsis.  I could see where you're coming from if you think Alanna is likely to be scum, but FMPOV, it's a waste of a lynch.

Leena was walking around the bed and breakfast. She came to the kitchen and decided to get a drink. There was a beautiful crystal goblet on the table with a note. She picked it up and read it. "For all your hard work here and in the Warehouse, this glass is for you to enjoy. Relax and have a drink!" Hmmm. Sounded artifacty. Suddenly she felt compelled to use it. The more she drank the worse she felt but for some reason she just couldn't stop! 

 

This goblet would be the end of her for sure. She had used Tiberius' Goblet. (It turns any liquid placed in the goblet instantly to wine. Effects: severe drunkenness, blackouts, eczema, and appearing boils all over the victims body.)
