Verbal, where you at regards to leelou? You and her haven't interacted at all so far.

I don't know yet.  She hasn't posted much, and only had a few game-related posts.  One was an early ISO, which she would easily make as either alignment.

Its D1  lynching inactives is a bad idea  D1 is to get INFO

And lately Cass BEING online is abnormal atm actually. Mafia actually gets her more active cause she's soooo into it.

so 1. disagree strongly.

and 2. to the best of my knowledge cass has only played mafia once. Further, she was about as active then as she was when she was a villager, but all her content was focused on tunneling one player.

I disagree with the bold. I do admit that a lot of my tunneling was focused on you. Aiming for revenge?

What are you talking about, aiming for revenge?

Oh.

'something bad will happen'.

basically I'd make a point of it.

but w/e that was before i heard you were pregnant. that was also before you reentered the thread.

It's part of what has me gut-wary of you again. Imo, you already did try to make a point of it. Or at least potentially start to lay some seeds.

Oh, so alanna, i really want to know why you want a vig. to shoot mrs. clov even though you feel her subbing out isn't alignment indicative?

This is actually a good question.  I overlooked that on the first read of her post (I was typing mine at the same time).

I'm adding Alanna to my initial town reads.  Awesome post.

I agree. I'm also not directing the power roles. It's their job to decide where to use their roles.

Because the slot is worthless at this point, with no one actively playing it. My feelings there would probably change if Kaylee finds a replacement.

I'm here-ish. Trying to catch up and all that now.

So far, feeling good about Lily and Hallia. I'm getting bad feelz from Eldrick for pushing on the mason thing and the talk about triggers. More in depth thoughts when I feel comfortably caught up.

There will be a modkill if there isn't a replacement.

I disagree. You are valuable enough to be protected, especially if one of you dies.

Not really. The whole point of certain roles is to draw the NK. Bodyguard, for example. Bulletproof and vengeful townies, for a couple more. 2 masons don't really add a lot of value to the Town. I will agree that ONE CONFIRMED mason adds value - but you want that other mason to be at the hands of scum [as Verb has already pointed out].

So it honestly doesn't behoove any protective roles to "waste" a protection on either of us tonight. The best thing is to do as a protective rol is protect someone that can be of actual informational use to the Town and hope they guess right. The other thing is that this forces scum to make the choice of killing one of us - thus turning the other into essentially an innocent child OR to try to shoot into the weeds and hope they hit a doc or cop or something more DIRECTLY dangerous to them. Again, this is why Verb said you need to let Mafia sort us out for you.

Let me put it this way:

TO ANY PROTECTIVE ROLES OUT THERE - PLEASE DO NOT PROTECT PRAL OR I TONIGHT.  WE ARE PREPARED TO DIE FOR THE CAUSE!

I read and understand your logic. But man, sometimes I just want to feel like Van, y'know?

Haven't read him close enough yet. Getting ready to do that now.

Ditto on not directing PRs....I never liked making those suggestions.

It's not about directing the power roles. It's about understanding YOUR view of the game and being able to get reads on YOU. Notice how you both just perked up at Alanna stating she would vig Mrs Clov/Dawn despite previously saying she wouldn't consider Mrs Clov replacing out to be alignment indicative? That's the kind of stuff that happens when people play along at home.

There are some other benefits I won't get into now but it's a reasonable request, one I participated in, and something I will FoS anyone that ignores it for.

'that's the kind of stuff that happens when people play along at home'

what do you mean?

Alanna answered Thanes questions [she played along]. Lily and Verbal noticed her answers didn't seem to jibe immediately with what Alanna was saying about the Mrs Clov slot at the time. So Thane's question lead to people answering and people's ANSWERS are leading towards a better understanding of what people are thinking thus leading to better reads.

Point being, this isn't an exercise in directing PR's. This is an exercise in reads.

I agree with this explanation. It's about getting insight into people's heads. Who I would vig and cop are specific to what would do - not suggesting others do the same.

I didn't realize inactives get modkilled.. (Oops didn't read the rules? :P)

I noticed that inconsistency, not them (i want some credit), but...

well alright. It's always only a tool to get a better fix on people. Kind of a vain assumption really, to assume someone can control anothers' actions with words on a screen.

I'm pretty sure directing night prs has never happened in one of my games.

Oh, did i tell you about that time I fake claimed doc at f5 and scum killed me, resulting in scum being auto-lynched at f3.

Epic.

For starters, I don't think I understand enough about/have enough experience with what you may or may not be truly implying with your claim, or why it should/would ever be more indicative of one alignment or the other.

Do me a favor and take a breather on me until after you have spoken with Darthe. Deal? I don't want to clutter up the thread explaining stuff I think he'll explain to you. But one thing I think you are missing - and it's a REALLY big thing - is that Masons are ALWAYS Town. So if one Mason get's NKed by scum, the other Mason is absolutely positively 100% confirmed Town as well.

I wasn't missing that. In consideration of that am taking a breather on you.

I am also asking.

[v]Eldrick[/v]

I just scummed with you, bro. Wrong move to play the newb Town card with me. Nothing you are saying is within striking distance of smart Town play.

The jibe at the end seems off in tone

How so?  The entire post is a sarcastic remark aimed at Eldrick.  I thought your post was pretty reasonable overall, but this little tidbit stuck out to me.  Scum and townies alike will use and abuse sarcasm all the time, so I don't see it as alignment indicative.......and I get the impression you're using it as such.  Can you course-correct me, here?

Course-correct you?

do read repetitive sarcasm/dismissive targeting of other players as more likely anti-Town. I can't help it. On a personal level I don't like it, and game-wise I don't understand how it's ever going to be used to foster clear communication/understanding between players.

Does that help?
