Mafia does have to be about abusing everything you can if you roll scum.  To do otherwise soils the integrity of the game.  You may think refusing to violate inside jokes as scum is honorable, but it is the exact opposite.

 

And Turin and Ithi are routinely blasted for their behavior with respect to each other so that is a terrible example.

Just to hopefully prevent further confusion - if you are referring to me recently saying I thought Yates' claim was much more likely seer cover (which is strange, since that was a lot later than page 5 or 6)? Cause that isn't me defending his alignment, or thinking he's >rand to be town. That's me saying he was likely providing seer cover, as in a bunch of people throwing out seer claims along with fake peeks, to let the REAL Seer put out their peeks in thread without fear of being outed.

 

Seer cover is a complete nulltell- town or scum can do it just as easily.

 

 

I want to start off by saying I'm having a pretty serious case of mindmeld with Despo today, which used to be a flashing red light sign.

 

Des, remember back in the good old days when the only way I knew you were town was if you said something outrageously slap-me-in-the-face scummy that made me want to lynch you pronto, and if I found myself nodding and agreeing with you you were almost certainly scum?  I really hope you haven't reverted to your old ways, because i'm liking how you're thinking overall so far.

 

I'm less confident on my reads than this POE, but find myself agreeing with many of them - the blues especially.  On the scum lean end of things, I am most in agreement with Sili, the others I am not sure enough to categorize without a full reread, and a lot more thinking.

 

 

Lol nah I stopped trying to act scummy on purpose. It stopped being effective in preventing my NK, so I switched to going #LolDespot early game and acting like I didn't know what I was doing to make myself less of a threat to scum

 

 

Luckily, this game I'm hydra with Salami, who scum will likely not want to NK as he often does a great job of "endearing" himself to others ( ) so I don't have to try and act useless early on this game!

 

 

You're not stupid so I want you to think through this carefully.

 

 

If you say I'm scum every game (or at least most) and I say that that makes your calling me scum par for the course and 75% likely to be wrong that is objectively logical.  Obvious even.  You can't make an argument based on you catching me as scum because you tunnel me if you happen to tunnel me nearly every game.  It's confirmation bias.

 

Me acknowledging that may be a bit base but it isn't remotely erroneous.  That you have the most derp hydra partner to exist on DM since EP doesn't help your biases as he unintentionally misinterprets every statement on thread.  I really really wish at the moment that I thought this was outside of either of your town ranges.

Secondly, I wasn't saying I tunnel on you every game, cause I don't, not really. I suspect you as scum A LOT, but imo you naturally come off as slimy A LOT.

 

Thirdly if you look at your total history, I'm pretty much POSITIVE that you rand scum a good bit more than 25%. Feels like it anyways.

 

Fourth, all this still doesn't excuse the ridiculousness of what you said. It's one thing to say I have confbias when it comes to you, and that you have supplanted the role Turin used to play for me. It's quite another to say "If I was scum he'd be right".

Problem is that due to the lynch rules in this game, your votes DO matter this early on, or they can if there's a tie at EOD.  You vote someone, a few other people vote, even if you unvote later, as long as they haven't lost the lead when deadline hits that "enhancing a wagon" bit you think doesn't matter could be the difference in who dies.

 

I'm not saying you shouldn't vote, by any means, but don't make the mistake of thinking your vote doesn't matter this early, because it very well can.

 

I'm sure if this hypothetical wagon is driven by villagers it'll have votes in and out of it up until eod due to itt gameplay rather than wagon-size and peer pressure. And if town is actually incompetent enough to vote for the biggest wagon for no other reason than apparent popular support in the vote counts, and not adjust their reads for itt road-bumps like me removing my vote, then town is going to lose with or without my vote in the first place.

 

 

Please don't start the "town is so awful" crap. I'm seriously asking you nicely. It is absurdly and profoundly obnoxious when you do so.

Seriously, though, Salami is routinely underestimated.  When he's town, his reads are really quite excellent.  People may not agree with his methodology for arriving at his conclusions and blast him repeatedly for some of his reasoning, but the results are what they are, and he's right a heck of a lot more often than I am.

Tommy asked me to do the VC today, seeing i was top poster yesterday, so that's what i do...

 

Other than that, i'm still trying to make sense of the game. I do feel comfortable with where my vote is. Sili received minor pressure and goes on the seer-cover train (which had been explained in reference to Yates before) Could have been to get more towncred by him.
