My point is that YOU goaded him from the beginning. Perhaps he didn't want to engage you right away after the last game. I think it's wolfy for you to poke him like that to basically incite a negative response early. I can't see you thinking the outcome of your commentary being positive irt you and Yates's current relationship

I did not goad Yates. I specifically said that him not mentioning the last game -- or at all interacting with me -- felt weird. Think of Salamj in the game his scumteam swept: he never once got emotional despite the game being an emofest. I suspected something similar could be afoot here.

Keep lying though. It's a good look for you.

Top Tier Troll can't make arguments about being trolled. Yates can do his thing. I don't think his intent was to actively troll you, you're just deciding to play it up that way.

Considering he specifically said "it's personal now" at the end of the last game and then came into this one pretending he's got me on ignore -- yeah. I'm the one making it up.

Tom you called him wolfy and telling him to get at you is explicitly goading. How can you really say otherwise?

I remember him saying it was personal last round. He could've been ignoring you at the game start specifically for that reason.

Dude... just what?

Read your own post. It makes no sense.

You're basically telling me anyone I call wolfy is now "goading" instead of playing the friggin game. Hogwash. How can you say that with a straight face?

Tom that's not what I'm saying at all so don't try to boil it down to that.

I'm saying you poking Yates specifically in this instance knowing how the last game ended and how he'd likely react is wolfy. You were inciting a negative response when he very likely was ignoring you to avoid that sort of conflict.

im leaning scum on verb and arsis.

arsis just seems to be taking pot shots from the sidelines

verb is a gut reaction to his intial reaction to thanes foot in mouth. im willing to hold off and see more from him

Yeah. I actually agree with you on both of these points. You saw what I said about being okay with an Arsis counterwagon so enough said there, I think.

I don't think Verb is scummy for how he treated Thane, but I do have some trepidation there. How long did it take for me to convince Thane he was likely wrong about his theory? One link. BUT - I'm also someone who read Thane's posts as him just putting his unfiltered thoughts out there and thought it was Townie. Leelou wanted to clear Verb earlier than I wanted to and I put the brakes on that for exactly this reason. Plus, I think Verb will agree that Leelou might clear him a bit too easily. So I want to see more from him about other slots before making a final determination.

just putting in my thoughts on the last part: it would be possible that both Verb and Leelou rolled scum again, and the play is similar to what i saw in the firefly game. I don't know how likely it would be, but we'll need to see more about that.

Our play has been nothing like the Firefly game.  Polar opposites.  I invite you to prove otherwise.

and to anyone else that hates the way I play - Leelou, Verbal, etc - sorry my b. Will reassess.

I don't hate the way you play.  I consider you a very good player.  I hate the way you let attitude and emotion flood into the game via your posts and basically negatively impact the game.  You didn't do that at all in Discworld, and it was a pleasure to "village" with you.....even though I dropped the ball and drove town off the cliff without you, lol.  That was on me, but your play was great.

I hope you can see the difference there.

@Tommy – I’m not mad. Y U copy AJ’s thoughts?

@Lee – you won’t be seeing just a ton of BFG for D1, I’m afraid. She’s uberbusy at work. I’ve asked her on our QT about sharing her thoughts though, since she can open the QT at work, but generally not DM due to cloudflare. I’ll post her insights if she’s okay with it.

Thoughts atm:

Manbat looks very townie after reading through his posts here and his beginning posts in Cory’s and my game. His comfort level seems better, and I remember him saying how much he hated being scum in the QT during mine and Cory’s game. I also liked his response to me regarding his reaction o des’s question. Might seem silly, but I wanted to see how he answered regarding rolling scum or not since I remembered about his complaints on the QT.

I don’t know that I will ever feel comfortable putting Tommy firmly in a town pile, unless maybe a cop view with an already dead GF or sane cop flip, as someone else before me said, but as Cory and Manbat are both reading him as town, and my partner says she can read him given time, I’m willing to give it a bit of time.

Dice looks very townie, for putting his reads ITT and having some of them be against the grain, but for logical reasons. He doesn’t do this as well as scum, imo.

Alanna’s catch up post looks okay.

Not a fan of Berf’s catch up post. He comments on a post of Thane’s that has already been discussed, but doesn’t discuss the implications of TMI, which seems odd. Says Cory’s post regarding laying low pinged. Seems an odd thing to say as ScumCory, as it would surely draw attention. Also, if he’d caught up, he should have seen Cory’s post about posting less to encourage more from quieter players. Says Hally’s hydra with Cory makes him wonderful, but then he doesn’t like Yates’s friendly cheering of Hally. His scum reads are, imo, the easy people in the thread to call scum. He plus ones a few of Arsis’s posts, but doesn’t mention him at all in his assessment at the bottom.

I agree with Tommy that a lot of Arsis’s pop-ins seem to be encouraging a fight without adding much of his own to it. “Don’t forget he also did this,” kind of add-ins. Being an instigator, though, I’m not sure that’s a tell for Arsis.

Good catch. Something to keep an eye on.

FYI, as your recent scumbro, I saw you do this a few times as scum.  The "good catch" post.  I don't think I've seen that from TownTom, btw.  Might be wrong, but this pings a little.

Hold on.  You said more than once that Yates is probably mad about last game.  Dude...that is goading.

it's what it feels like indeed Manbat.

@verbal: i go with feelings a lot, so i can be wrong. I'm just curious about the close interaction between leelou and you. Could also be that i read too much in it, but we'll see how the game goes on. And, you're welcome for the joke

Verb and Leelou always interact 'closely' because they know each other well. That's a null tell, really. It's actually in the way they don't interact that can be a scumtell for one or both of them. They're very avoidy on each other as scum. I'm not getting that from either of them atm, though there hasn't been a ton of interaction from them yet.

So you're just going to ignore my reasoning for doing so?

I'm at work and on mobile, and we all know how I feel about that, so I'll make this quick.

About the alliances/hard clearing: to me, I treat this as a null tell on people. You don't have to stop looking at those players just because they've decided to trust each other. Just because they cleared each other doesn't mean everyone else has to back off. But there are people I really won't vote on Day 1 too, so I get where they're coming from.

A lot of the big interactions ITT are feeling very villagery to me. Makes me wonder if the scum are in the slankers.

I'll give an updated reads list later this evening, I want to look back at some parts of the game.
