This post. More of an approachmeld than a mindmeld. She said the same thing I did, though she was talking to Salami and I was talking to Clov. It's small but there it is.

Eh... she might be adopting your lingo to come across villagery.

My general take on Halli is that while she doesn't post much as either alignment, she has content that redeems her as town. I don't see it here. She did go out of her way to respond when pressured, but I'm not sure if it says much. She wouldn't roll down and die if pressured as either alignment. Gut and tone says likely scum but I could be wrong.

She usually has around what... 100 posts a game?  Give or take. It really depends if it's one of those 80 pages game or 150 pages game. I wouldn't even know what to make of her posting more.

Posted

Salami, can you explain in detail, preferably in one post, why you think Halli is town?

Fearless.

Natural.

Engages me realtime while bone tired at work (she shouldn't try that as scum... ever).

Responds right to me this morning (only 93 cause she kind of half-ignores me there).

i thought it was a scummy post. i felt his conjecture was rash and consciously unhelpful. if he'd wanted to be useful he could have been, but instead i saw my name an awful lot like he was fishing me for some reason.

i hadn't realized it sounded so villagery to others.

Not really. I have 30+ pages to read before I can start thinking about being useful. Tom's right about my gambits, though. Expressly not doing any gambits this game. Promise.

fair, i thought you were going to stop at 10. still, either way we cut the slice i think you're villagery, but it's nice to know you're making a solid effort.

good work.

and sorry for misjudging you.

Am I the only one seeing this?  He's apparently scummy for not being useful when he could have been.  Tom says it wasn't really scummy, Yates explains why he couldn't have been helpful, and now he's villagery?

You know, if you're going to pester me I would like you to be a little more accurate in quoting. I wasn't thinking Yates was scum, quite the contrary. Of course, he might still be scum, but I wasn't making an argument for it.

Sili's OP felt like a forced casual post from an experienced player.  The joke about only scum claiming town and then saying he had wanted to be scum but rolled town with the eyeroll added in.

Thane for some of the tone things that Des seems to have seen.

As for you and Salami, I didn't like your hedge on Thane where you said that you might back off if others piled on.  Salami calling w/w on Des/Thane felt a bit chainsawish to me.

So, you base my scum lean on something that someone else might have picked up..... that's pretty thin imo. I'm more interested in your own personal opinion.

glad you're in the game though Wombat, been a while since we had a game together

This reads as a w/w interaction. Not just the hot and cold, but the "hey, it's been so long, we're obviously not on a team together!" type commentary comes from wolves more than you'd think.

Okay nvm. Just got hold of him on Skype. He says he didn't have access to the net and wasn't aware the game started. He should be here.

He may be busy on weekends? Tommy?

AFAIK his only obligation is school, I have no idea why he vanishes for days or weeks at a time but this wouldn't be the first time. Back in march or april he signed up for and disappeared from 2-3 games on DM as well.

The fact that she's willing to respond in depth to Des but basically brushes you off despite you trying to help her?

You mean last night?  I spoke to Csarmi and thanked him multiple times.  He was the catalyst, but then Csarmi kinda dropped off the face of the planet, Des kept talking to me, and then I crashed.

Saw the above while looking at Verb in ISO.

Verbal's game-related contributions thus far:

What if his opinion is the same as one already stated? You can't cast doubt on somebody while using a poor counter yourself.

If it would be his personal opinion, i assume he would have worded it diffirently. As in: I agree with Des that Thane's tone is off. In his current wording, i conclude that he's solely using Des' findings

Good response.  I retract my immediate suspicion.

I'm confused as to why Salami followed Clov and then unvoted before Clov clarified what he was trying to do.

@Verb yes that's what it means.

Is your post there answering mine above?

I'm confused as to why Salami followed Clov and then unvoted before Clov clarified what he was trying to do.

I followed Clov cause i thought we saw the same thing there. Then i read back up and it turned out i remembered wrong.

Then came Clov and explained he didn't see that either.

Throwing kindle on fire are we?

No, asking questions.  You were pretty quick to jump on that vote, and it made me wonder.  I'm curious as to what Leelou thinks about this, actually.

Tommy, any thoughts on Verbal?

My knowledge of Verbal is he thinks he's super sexy awesome but isn't because he rarely tries until after D2 or D3. When we were scumbros he never ramped up and bit into the game and it as very apparent. I'll be looking for that.

Do you mean "greater than random"?

I don't understand what's the difference....

I may have misunderstood.  To me, "rand to be town" is the same as "rand to be scum".  It is random; therefore, equal chance for either.

But ">rand" means more likely, so I was thinking you were saying she's likely town, but didn't use the ">".  Again, maybe I misunderstood.

Ie. "rand" is starting to mean "likely".

I think that is silly.  We should use the words that make sense, not create new definitions.

@Clov - lol i associate Lee being snarky (ans especially having a real bite) with her town game. So that's probably a complete null.

Then what could you possibly have seen that made you feel good about following me early?

@Salami - this is kinda my point.  No manipulation from me - I was asking a question.

Sorry Salami, I still don't like your answer.  But I give you credit for not doing the "sorry my bad" thing, so there's that.

What I got out of this was... basically nothing. A one-two with Thane and a short stint with Salami. Both were prod-and-retract interactions. As it stands I have no idea what Verb will say when he begins posting in this thread, and I don't like that. Despite being around at the time he completely ignored the Clov/Lee interaction, which would be the first thing I'd expect him to react to.

That post stood out to me but for a different reason - it just don't look like it was written by Thane.

Pretty thin?

My take on him is that as scum he likes to cause trouble in a single way. Very often only the one that is the target of the dirt notices. Read the Hunter Games - Catching Fire. On DM Mafia and tell me what you think.
