This doesn't look bad in ISO, but look at what was going on in the game at the time. He had just gotten accused of bailing from the thread. The reason he was accused of "bailing" is because he had stuff he needed to address. Instead he had two one liners about being at work and something about Tommy and Csarmi getting killed that didn't make much sense then that's his big post.

Sili's OP felt like a forced casual post from an experienced player.  The joke about only scum claiming town and then saying he had wanted to be scum but rolled town with the eyeroll added in.

 

Thane for some of the tone things that Des seems to have seen.

 

As for you and Salami, I didn't like your hedge on Thane where you said that you might back off if others piled on.  Salami calling w/w on Des/Thane felt a bit chainsawish to me.

 

So, you base my scum lean on something that someone else might have picked up..... that's pretty thin imo. I'm more interested in your own personal opinion.

For Yates... i dunno... he might just have a hard time catching up (which is understandable, i had problems too). Way he posts does feel a bit forced though. Will give him time to catch up and see how his gameplay develops.

I feel like he was sponging off other people claiming this rather than actually believing it.

AJ, I might have missed it if you already said it, but what game was it where he admitted it? And how long ago was it?  I'm just wondering if it could be something he could assume no one would remember. Were other people in this game playing in that game?

FYI, it looks like as of yesterday the Shayol Ghul social group has made the Thakandar sub-board members only... so a lot of old mafia games are going to be inaccessible unless they get moved, or people will have to join the social group to get access.

you still refuse to answer my question Des.... lynch me, sure, lose a townie, sure. Don't cry after when my final words will be ' I told you so'. I am VT this game, would even hardclaim that.

MAYBE he's just frustrated with Des. I know I've been there. But I'd rather he did something Townie or responded to points rather than avoiding them - as pointed out above - and trying to play class clown. It just comes across terribly.

Shows up. Says he's gonna be off on the weekend. Fluff ensues. Talks about netflix, the disneytrip, lists the player lists with "likely scum" next to all of them as a joke.

As a result Des shows up and casts a vote on him. Thane says he loves him too. Des says it's a serious vote. Still don't get what prompted it, personally. Des accuses him of deflecting. Thane says he's sorry to disappoint Des but he's not a wolf. But claims he'll help him find one, while questioning him if he's a wolf. 

 

The following post Thane says he'll be as transparent as possible and that he's not wolf... or third party. I find it odd that he felt the need to say he wasn't third party part. Like... I dunno. It seems like a weird add on. Tells Des w/e and that his vote is wasted on him.

 

Says it's too soon to tell if Des is scum or not but that he's willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for now. Also jokes around saying anything is possible and says Des and Salami could even be scumbros.  Then he goes on to reassure Tommy that he will do whatever he can to prove that he's town. And if he can avoid being lynched to prove it, that would be better.  xD

 

Talks again about being transparent. Salami quotes some post of his claiming he might have slipped about knowing that Des is town. But I didn't really get what prompted Salami to say that (post: http://www.dragonmount.com/forums/topic/91368-advanced-kronos-and-kaylees-firefly-mafia/?p=3354279).

 

Up until now Thane mostly spends time talking about how townie he is and how he's gonna prove it. But then Tommy asks him what stands out to him. He says that Des' vote on him. He doesn't know Sili enough to judge his behavior. Says a lot of players haven't showed yet despite that the game started a while ago. And that he's basically just going with the flow. So.... basically.... he has zero impressions or leans on anyone at this point. The only thing he doesn't like is a vote on him... which... big shock... and he then nudges the focus onto the inactives.

 

He reassures Tommy that he's not worried that he has two votes on him. Nothing to panic. He still doesn't actually try to actively look for scum. He's like... it's all cool....I ain't worried. Instead he decides it's a swell time to start a discussion about who watched Firefly and what did they think about it LOL  More fluff posts.

 

Then he tells off Wombat about slanking saying that a townie can't slank until he solves the game. Which is amusing coming from someone who's been slanking up until this point and not really bothering to either prod people or make even the slightest attempt at scumhunting. Then when Wombat says that Des has a point about Thane's tone being off... Thane says it's pretty thin that Wombat is relying on someone else's point and adds that he's more interested in Wombat's personal opinion. While I admit I don't get the whole tone deal Des claims to have noticed.... there's nothing wrong with Wombat feeling the same way. That is HIS opinion, even if he didn't notice it first. So Thane's comment is kinda without.

 

Then he goes on his trip and comes back on Monday. 

 

He posts as he catches up. Once he hits page 30ish he posts saying Des is wrong and to stop tunneling him. Comments about salami being weird (regarding the self voting). But doesn't really try to interpret what it means to him. Just mentions that it happened. Then he throws in that SP and Yates are likely to be MKed. Again going about inactive talk. And then he's like... if they get MKed, would we get to know their alignment??  >.>  Then he throws in that people are posting faster than he's able to catch up. And he vocalizes a town lean on me and Tommy. Which is about the only opinion he had that didn't relate to how townie he is and how wrong Des is for voting him.

 

When he reaches page 50 he posts again: He says he has a hard time making sense of Silli. Alanna has a townfeel to her. AJ/me feel like v/v. At this point he says he would be open to a Silli or Wombat lynch. Where did the scum read on Wombat come from? I don't think I've seen him mentioning him at all aside from his disapproval of him supposedly sheeping Des.

 

Posts again when he's around page 60 noting that salami is being too defensive of Halli... but once again simply NOTING it but not saying what he makes of it. Then he thanks Des for unvoting him and giving him time to catch up. He promises not to disappoint.

 

Then he gives the following read list:

 

 

After reading through the entire thing, here's my feeling about the players

 

1. Hally: Could be town... but more leaning scum for the moment.
2. AJ: Town
3.SickPuppets: need moar
4.Thane: town
5. Pral: need moar
6. Clov: don't feel him this game.... scumlean.
7. Leelou: town
8. Verbal: null, need to see more. 
9. Des: townlean
10. Alanna: looks town to me, so far.
11. Yates: trying hard to catch up, willing to give some more time
12. Csarmi: all over the place, have the feeling he's not his usual self... scumlean
13. Wombat: null... some things seem town, others . don't... 
14. Sili: looks more town than anything else, but not completely off the radar. Mainly because i haven't played with him before.
15. Tommy: Town
16. Nyn: town

 

Not an hour ago he mentioned Silli as one of the people he'd be willing to lynch. Yet in his read list he gives Silli a town read. Wombat is the second player he said he'd be willing to lynch (again, just an hour prior to this post)... but now he's listing him as null.  Err... okay? >.> I realize that he has like 20 pages between the previous post and the read list.... but his scum leans on page 50 go poof by page 70 and since he's not explaining himself and simply listing it all as a gut read.... I am unable to follow his line of thought and see exactly what made him change his mind and gravitate to other scum leans, like Clov, Hallia and Salami, which he DIDN'T EVEN MENTION up until now... aside from noting that salami was being defensive of Halli. Like this doesn't make any sort of sense to me.

 

Then he follows up with saying scum would be Csarmi, Clov, Hallia, Wombat. Which again makes me wonder why he put Wombat in null.

 

Third poke at the inactives to start posting more. He seems very intent to keep reminding everyone about them, it would seem.

 

Now Des shows, calls the read list bad and highlights where Thane has Verb as null and how they could be scumbros. Personally I don't see how anyone could have read Verb as nothing but null at that point. But in any case, Thane responds with: " I do understand why you'd think either Verbal or Wombat would be wolf with me, but i'm not wolf. Both of them could be though". He understands why he would think that?  erm. Please... tell me, cause I don't get it. I also don't get why he included Wombat in this statement as I haven't seen anyone referring to him (might have missed it, though).

 

Reiterates again how his read list is based on gut alone.

 

More fluff posts. More posts about how Silli sounds townie and genuine. Totally not forced. Which is weird considering he mentioned several times before how he doesn't know what to make of him. Then he throws out how he still needs to make up his about Alanna... even though he has her as a town lean on his read list. >.>

 

He moves on to questioining Des how him flipping town would affect his reads. Seems like a legit question. Asserts that Des is prolly town in this game. Wow, and it actually matches his read list. That's nice!

 

He says: "i look for contradictions to the feelings i have from players. If something seems off, then i usually go back and try to iso that player to see how he/she progressed during the game."  So... yeah... where are these ISOs you supposedly do when something seems off?  Are they they of the invisible variety? 

 

Asks Salami for his top suspects. When asked about Alanna and Yates he says Alanna seems townie and Yates posts seems a bit forced but he's gonna give him time to catch up.

 

Thane gets a bit annoyed when Des doesn't give him a clear answer about how his reads would change if he should flip scum. This is where he claims VT for absolutely no reason.

 

 

i do have a scummy tone, but i type what i think, and don't hesitate to do so. Maybe honesty is scummy? dunno.... i'm trying to contribute to the town victory as good or bad as i can. While driving home, i was thinking about Des and his tunneling on me... it makes no sense. I'd have less problems with AJ doing that, seeing i fooled him last game, but from Des....? It raises some questionmarks.....

At this point Thane kinda gives up on interacting with Des. Can't say I blame him. lol

 

Again a nudge wondering where SP is and how long it'll take him to catch up. Says that Verbal should post more for like the third time.

 

 

Then Thane echos what I already said about Verbal... when I said he showed up mid catch up with one scum lean and that it didn't sit well with me. 

 

Then there's the whole segment of him talking to himself. Seems to have the same read list, only he drops Salami to null... even though I haven't seen any indication in his posts or any reference to Salami for that matter that would explain this shift. He basically says that he's having second thoughts about some of his scum leans. So at this point he has Clov and Halli as his top scum reads.... even though he never really talked about them. He simply listed them as scum, supposedly out of a gut read. But he never refers to their content that I could see.

 

There's the whole thing about him not casting a vote out of a bogus reason of him not wanting his vote to go to waste if he logs off and doesn't come back in time for the deadline.  But at the same breath he says there's still plenty of time left till deadline  lol Which is like a huge logic fail. Then there's the whole background color being different that I won't get into. He basically said he typed it all and that there was no c/p in play.

I don't have an issue with this post, per say... only I would have liked to see it a lot sooner and that i would have wanted him to go more into detail so I could understand his line of thought better. As it stands it's a bit thin..... especially his reasons for finding Hallia scummy. Like he says she's being scarce here like she did in a recent game where he was scum with her... but he also says that he has no idea if she does it as town as well. So... he could either check her post counts in her town game or even ask. He doesn't seem that interested to find out, though.

 

There's the whole self musing of "Am i really THAT scummy? It makes me wonder..."  Which make me kinda roll my eyes lol  Anyways, he eventually votes Clov, throwing the whole 'waiting logic' out the window. He later unvotes after Clov claims doc.

 

 

 

 

There are things I definitely don't like about Thane. I know he plays scummy as a townie as well but as I was reading his posts, some of them were really pushing the envelope for me. Des, I don't think you ever responded to me... but it would really help if you could explain what you meant when you voted Thane at the beginning of the game. He was talking about none-game related stuff and you were pretty much convinced he was scum from the get go, I'm assuming based on tone. Can you please point me at the specific post that gave you that impression?
