Still, I'm beginning to think the mafia would have been given safe false-claims (or a selection of possible characters) to stave off all the towns info-gathering powers. Especially since character claiming and even role pm quoting is permitted. It makes me sure that Mynd gave the mafia something to work with and counteract how op those rules allow the town to get.

I mean, if none of us had ever played a mafia game with a gunsmith before I can see how you might think you could pass this off as a legit "argument." The problem is that there are quite a few mafia veterans in here. Your role even says "in flavor." Plus, as you point out, the function of a gunsmith is that it's a weak cop. It's purpose for being included in a game is to create situations in which there are potential false positives - like in the case of the Black Widow - that need to be further investigated. What you are trying to claim is that your version nails all anti-town. That would be WAY overpowered.

False.  His role doesn't nail all anti-town, it obviously states that some town roles can be caught as well.

This post seems too pushy in all the wrong ways.  The "basically scum claimed for us" , the over-simplication of the role, the questioning of the role in a sense that makes no ... well, sense.  Reeks hard of scum trying to push an easy lynch.  Tommy, I'm afraid you're being caught hook, line, and sinker in this one.  Yates, from what I've seen so far, is the kind of guy that always seems like he has good analysis, does his work, and people like to call town because he's awesome.  Kind of like how people like to call Hally town (or at least I do) cause she's incredibly nice.

 

Also, slight tinfoil, but how did Yates get caught up so well on the role claims?  He said he skimmed the 137 pages, didn't even read all of them.  Did he magically find his way to every single role claim?  Imo, scum team hinted him in.

 

However, bigger easier fish to fry.

False.  He retracted this statement and said he needed to lead the lynch.  The way his role PM was phrased, I could already tell he was lying from the beginning, but I thought it required him to be hammer like everyone else, didn't suspect lead lynching was behind it.

 

And thanks for the info that not all roles have flavor titles. I would guess Mynd had to pad the set as more players joined in the final days of signup.

We were trying to outwit scum but here's the truth.

I'm a jailer and Notbob is Tommy's mason.

We were trying to make it seem like I was the mason so scum would shoot me but w/e.

We really need to figure out why town's roles are so powerful.  Imo, two possibilities.

 

1. Mafia has sick roles (this is the better option of the two).

 

2. Mafia can mess with our roles.  In this case, I am wary of the non-clear people pushing the lynches out of the 7 potentially scum list.

 

Yates is not being voted right now cuz he did give info on Dawn. That could be faked or redirected as well, but Dawn's silence is a good scum tell right now.
