I get the vibe in general that you aren't really taking a side, which is my point.

TG called my slot lock scum on like pg2 of the game and then you guys proceeded to just pal around a bit with 80s movie gifs.

Later when I came back and was countering him, you basically told me to drop it and asked what I thought of people who hadn't posted yet.

Still, in the other game that is going on right now, you have posted to the merit of lynching lurkers. I’m trying to not let that game affect me, but it’s hard to reconcile how you can have these two different point of views.

It's the same. Read what I actually said over there. It applies here as well. The site's scum lurker meta needs to go. However, here as there, I'm also really prodding for contributions. Notice how once SP got run up all of a sudden he started posting? It's the beetlejuice thing. When people see their name mentioned in thread they typically feel more compelled to comment. Especially if they have a couple of votes on their slot.

 Interesting.

Also, ftr, I don't really think Lenlo looks scummy here.

I'll reread him again but I think he's actually showing some backbone in his arguments although they might not come across as uber compelling. This is something he did with Cory in our recently finished game where he was getting pushed hard. If you look in Woodstock, he seemed much more... non confrontational towards aggression.

I don’t see anything much involving Len in that post, unless you mean in the game?

As far as showing backbone, though, I can tell you that he does do that sometimes as scum.  I’ve been scum with him several times recently.  He used backbone, to use your word, in the Dr. Who game that just ended and was scum.  Plus, your posts that look townie, don't look that townie to me.  They just look like...natural confusion and something that anyone would say in response to someone jumping on them.

I have absolutely no idea what's going on in this game. We have two scum and a bunch of mason teams?

WWho is scum?

It’s an open setup game.  The setup is in the OP.

This is accurate as of right now.

More TG votes imo

Not really seeing the Lenlo scumminess atm and that may be in part of how I view TG's vote hopping as opportunistic. I think lynching him is actually sort of premo because it can potentially vet 3 possible townies. Myself, Len and Arsis.

Thank you for the VC.   I am not seeing where a TG lynch would possibly vet Arsis; I follow your thought process on Len and you.

We're all in agreement I'm a piece of human garbage and should be lynched.

Nobody think you're a piece of human garbage.  The issue is this, when you self-vote like you did it's basically a pity-play that appeals to our emotions.  In mafia it is very difficult to discern real emotion from fake, but scum tend to be more sensitive to getting lynched and respond emotionally whereas town tend to want to fight it harder for the good of the team.

[v]Arsis[/v]

Arsis - remember how I was saying you're attitude would make you an easy target?

Yeah.

This is what I was talking about.

Quoted again for posterity.

Like TG isn't even calling Arsis scum in this post. He just kind of gives him a Mafia theory lecture on what AtE is.

Lynching TG is premo.

Scum flip = AJ clear. Len clear. Arsis clear. Yates suspect.

Will root out the others soon enough.

Give me this, Town.

Follow me.

Is this the post where you are thinking that a TG scumflip would clear Arsis?  I don’t really see it.  Like you said, it’s more of a lecture.

I think it’s a good idea to hear from TG regarding how/why his view on Len changed, but right now, I’m still not convinced he’s scum .

WHELP

I hope you've got more than this.

I took a side. My side is that you are both pretty.

Yeah, the 80's stuff is an inside joke that carried over into the thread. Incidentally, though you wouldn't know it, that pic actually WAS a response to TG. He knows what it means. If you know the movie, it shouldn't be hard for you to figure out.

Also, I tried redirecting the conversation because you were just beating a dead horse and I had already decided this was T v T. If you REALLY want me to tear apart your argument, I will. I've got some spare time. But I'm not interested in making posts that could inform a narrative that would paint you as scum or start TG on his "AJ MUST DIE!!" tirade again. I'm just tired.

There is no AJ is scum narrative. Nor will there be.

I am your Bastion of hope and Light.

Take my hand in these perilous times and together we shall vanquish the evil doers ITT

@Key - that's sort of the point there. There's no conviction. I don't even believe that TG thinks Arsis was scum when he voted him. He just used some Mafia theory as window dressing to fill as "justification"

I did read it.  It literally says "Why not. Lurker lynches have been aces so far."

The SP thing is different, because it's his name and a vote on him in particular.  Saying "inactives" isn't the same thing, imo.  As far as prodding for contributions, it was the beginning of the game, surely things were going to pick up.

I'm beginning to get the vibe that you and TG are perhaps connected in some way and you're avoiding him ITT.

I wish. A Yates/TG scum team would RECK. We've done it before [see Basterd mafia] and I didn't even KNOW he was my partner! Also, I'm pretty sure I've responded to you both equally. You just have more posts. Is there a TG post you think I'm ignoring for some reason?

Funny you should mention that game actually.

That's a good example of scum!TG pushing a case aggressively for ~dubious reasons. It was also the last time he's called me "lock scum"

I sensed it then and I sense it now.

Did you copy and paste this response from something?

I actually mentioned something to Slendy earlier in the thread. But, you know, ongoing. Just take it at face value or explain the scum motivation. I feel like this is a peculiar issue to take a stand on.

Stop talking about other games in this game.

I know.  And SHE'S the co mod!  Maybe she's trying to get me mod killed in her game?

I thought I did? I already said that ending the argument looks like a good way to gain town cred. It's also the differing opinion, imo, in two games that are going on at the same time that is giving me reservations on you. I'm trying not to let it affect me, but I find it weird which is thus making you look suspicious to me. As in, how can I be certain that that's actually how you feel? <--- that's the point that I'm trying to wrap my head around.

I'm not trying to get anyone modkilled anywhere, and co-modding has nothing to do with it. I'm trying to explain why I have reservations about Yates's opinion/bringing up inactives.

Posted

I'm certainly not meaning to get anyone caught in a pickle or anything regarding other games. It's a reason I have the opinion that I do, in this one, but I realize that it's toeing the line, or whatever, so I'll not bring it up again since you know how I feel about it.

I already said that ending the argument looks like a good way to gain town cred.

I think I conceded this point earlier. Of course, another way to gain Town cred is to lynch scum, which I intend to do. So pointing out something Townie I posted/did as possibly trying to gain town cred is like saying nothing at all. And I guess that's *my* point.

I find it weird which is thus making you look suspicious to me. As in, how can I be certain that that's actually how you feel? <--- that's the point that I'm trying to wrap my head around.

How can you be certain of anything in mafia? We have three different games. We have three different player lists. I had two different but similar motivations in the most recent two. Treat them as different events. You are trying to hyper meta two ongoing games and it's going to end badly.

If it makes you feel better, *I* am aware that there are participants in both games. Think about it.

My problem was never about ending the argument. It was about bringing up inactives. I thought it looked weird and unlike you and I've explained why a few times.

I think we are going in circles lol.

Har har. I feel like you know what I mean .

I'm not meaning to hyper meta. I'm telling you that witnessing how you have reacted elsewhere has affected my position of your decisions/actions in this game. I will try to separate and see if there is another reason that I am suspicious of you or if it's affecting me too much.

I volunteer for modkill.

lol. But you're on a good streak of *not* getting modkilled.

Yates is probably scum too, though.

Key, I think your going in circles comment summarizes his level of rhetoric as scum.

He'll exhaust you.

Wait this is a serious argument? Im confused as to why you think thats justification TG, for what was a joke vote. "For the lulz" isnt an argument for anything nor is it justification. I dont need justification for a joke vote. Its the equivalent of me going "Hey Arsis remember that game you were a survivor? I do. With love."

I think this response is much more likely to come from a townie Len than scumm Len. This also prompted TG to go into his semantics spiel about what justification was/is which was completely out of context.

I dont need justification for a joke vote.

Exactly, you don't.   So why did you say it was "for the lulz"?

Because it was for the lulz...? The statement is exactly what the vote was for. I voted Arsis because it would be funny for me because of a previous game we played together in. I dont understand why your pushing this so much, this isnt your first time playing with me.

Colored for emphasize. Again, I think Len actually reacts pretty well here. I don't read this as defensive - I think he was just as mind boggled as I was at TG for what he was choosing to attack.

Oh... Thats what that second spoiler was. Welp. Im gonna... go try and be useful somewhere else I guess. Its not going so well on this front.

Not sure if genuine or if Lenlo is looking to get #derpcleared here.

I have my reservations on this because in the last game we played together Hallia made a similar post as mafia that I was able to kind of point to as something 'scum would never say'

Then how about you dont try to clear me on something that isnt gameplay? I hated how everyone that game cleared Hallia on something that wasnt actual gameplay.

That post was a joke about my being stupid, nothing more.

This is what I meant by Lenlo having ~backbone in his argument. He comes across pretty sharp here but not overly defensive. Feels genuine.

 Interesting.

I think it’s a good idea to hear from TG regarding how/why his view on Len changed, but right now, I’m still not convinced he’s scum .

1) I'm actually with Key IRT Lenlo showing "backbone" as scum.  He's been fairly passive in most of the games I've played with him as town, so I actually get a little weary if he shows a high level of effort and aggression.  I made a note to keep an eye on him since a couple of his posts here reminded me of his early play in Buffy Mafia (scum, as a mason with Key, IIRC), in that it's a start contrast to his natural "jokey"/"fluff" persona that I associate with him.

2) I actually think a TG scumflip might implicate Arsis rather than clear him.  AJ, you're lockclear for the rest of the game if TG flips scum, and Lenlo would be right behind you, but I think you missed the mark hard on Arsis.  I'll man up and say I'm not being perfectly objective since Arsis is still one of my top scum candidates, but if you're right about TG, I would have to wonder if his vote was a bus.  Arsis was gaining traction as a lynch at that point so TG would stand to benefit from the distancing, and as already said...the post TG made didn't give him a reason to vote Arsis - it gave him a reason NOT to, and he did anyways.
