Cory, the short answer is it represented the best option for me at the time. The Pray lynch was picking up steam, which didn't look like a good lynch to me.

 

And yes, mutliple scum reads of mine were either voting Lazy or said they would. I like to sheep early scum reads of mine to see if I'm on the right track, and to see who else might follow along. Also wanted to see if those on Lazy at the time would stay on him, or move to Pray train. Haven't done vote analysis yet however.

This is just scummy on so many levels. Looks like fake scumhunting, and indeed Thane does confirm later that he was joking here and not actually scumhunting. He also simply asks if someone is mafia, expecting them to answer even tho he acted coy about answering a direct question earlier. Lastly, he links Cory and AJ.... for no reason.

@cory: you seem eager to find out if i'm town. i hereby confirm that i am town. And indeed i am quitre relaxed because i managed to win my previous game with town, and i'm definately planning on doing so again in this game.

 

So, 16 players, that would make 4 scum, if my math is correct. Not everything can be 42, right?

 

This fails the tone test on SOOOOOO many levels.

Clumsy awkward wording responding to Cory finally about being town- check

 

Clumsy ending trying to act jokey about the theme more even tho the game is in serious mode- check

 

Acts like he's making a gameplay post even tho he doesn't give thoughts about ANY of the "interesting reads" he saw while catching up.... check.

 

well, usually i tend to stay quite loose. After all, this is a game and shouldn't become an obsession, right?

 

I don't know a lot of players in this game, so it's hard to read people from previous gameplays (and vice-versa, i imagine). I'm not a big fan of huge walls of text, but i'll try to get my thoughts in a couple of lines. My playtime is limited to the time i have at home, since DM is blocked by my employer, but i follow the game through notifications at my work.

 

For Des's post about Leelou, i get the impression that he wants to build a case on her, and some people followed. If their thoughts are genuine, or just sheepvotes to get a train started, i'll have to see in the progress of the game. I do find dice's general posting a bit off, so i'll see if he posts a bit more so i can make up my mind about him. Feeling somewhat uncertain about Des too, but D1 is still young, and i will follow the progress with great interest.

 

I see a lot of posts from the same players, but would like to see some more from the not-so-active ones. I generally think that inactivity on D1 can be more or less ok, after that, you get higher on my little radar for possible hiding scum.

 

Again tries stressing the "it's just a game" schpiel.

 

Stresses how he doesn't know people in this game, so he's having trouble making reads. I touched on this before- when I've seen town!Thane, he's never been THIS passive about his reads. Not ever.

 

Third paragraph is just loads of scummy tone all over the place. Says I "want" to build a case on Leelou, which he doesn't explain, then tries to act undecided about those who followed my case, even tho he seems to stress the "sheepvotes" possibility, making it more of a ninja blanket fos. So very defensive of Leelou, even tho he himself doesn't say what he thinks about her. "Have to see in the progress of the game" = tonefail alert. Clumsy newbscum tripping over saying simple stuff in awkward ways. Has hardcore vague mention of Dice's general posting being "a bit off", which he doesn't ever really explain, and throws in some non-committal language about me as well to go along with it.

 

FIVE TIMES in this post he says something along the lines of "I'll follow this as the game progresses". FIVE TIMES. Again, awkward clumsy scumminess.

 

Adds in final little throwaway at inactive posters, even hedges on that stance as well however.

 

i'm cautious around AJ... i played a game against him where he was uber-scum, and nobody had a clue about him....

 

Pointless post- says nothing about AJ's alignment THIS game. Just a weird sort-of-FOS.

on a personal note, i find D1 a bit usefull, but i feel the 'real game' starts D2, when the first victim(s) have fallen. I have some problems reading people for the moment, but that could be because i don't know a bunch of players here from previous games. I agree that dice looks off though (as stated in a previous post), but i'll have to check all the others to complete my list of suspects.

 

More excuses about not knowing the players well, and that he'll figure stuff out as the game progresses (like duh obv).

 

Restates the fos on Dice, and mentions that he stated suspicions in a previous post... so so far Thane's thoughts on Dice are that his general posting look off, and that he looks off tho. Yeah.....

@cory: that's why i started with 'on a personal note'. I know that there are players out there who disagree with it, but everybody has his/her opinions and those should be respected

 

as for dice: active dice is town, lurking dice is scum. That's what i feel about him. But, i'd like to hear something from him before he'd get a vote from me. Something... anything....

 

Thane says Dice is active as town, lurking as scum. Easy to mention while bringing up that he doesn't seem to be replying much.

 

So Thane has now thrice laid foundation for a Dice vote. Dice posts a couple times after this, yet Thane never analyzes those posts.

 

i'll try to make something out of this post, and hope it'll make some sense.

 

Slot01 - Cory: Haven't had the honor of playing with him yet, but for the moment, i like his posts and activity in the game. One of my biggest townleans for the moment.
Slot02 - BFG: dunno.... would like to see more, but her current posts give me the bejeebus.... scumlean on her.
Slot03 - Clov: Makes decent posts, don't have a bad feeling about him or his style. Townlean
Slot04 - Despo: interesting fellow. I read through his little WoT, and noticed that he was giving me a scumlean on the fact that i mentioned that i have a hard time reading people. My post he never did point out however was the one where i told Cory that i was town. Did he miss it accidentally or on purpose? Also find his recent interaction with Leelou interesting. Leelou stating "I was purely spamming and made like 2 or 3 game comments." was enough to unvote and vote dice. Dice being the main train for the moment, if i recall correctly. Scumlean on Des... 
Slot05 - Tina: From her current gameplay, townfeel for the moment. Though, as usual, i'd like to see a bit more.
Slot06 - Thane: Not his really usual self this game. Stated that RL got him busy, which i can get. He hates to fakeclaim, so he's town for me
Slot07 - RTE: not much from him to go on... nothing out of the ordinary anyways. Townlean
Slot08 - Andrej: one of my other more solid townleans. Though, i can be totally mistaken, as i have been fooled by him before. Still, going for town right now due to his posting and gameplay
Slot09 - Lazy: Lazy is Lazy. lots of jokes, no real gamecontent from him that i can remember. Null for now
Slot10 - Nynaeve: lots of joking, some serious posts. Nothing from her that rings any alarmbells, townlean for now
Slot11 - Pralaya: wish he'd be more active.... the only things i saw from him make me give him a scumlean
Slot12 - Hallia: don't recall any of her posts.... null for the moment.
Slot13 - Dice: bad little dice is scum. Unless he starts to get his act together and convince me, and everybody else, otherwise.
Slot14 - Mish: i lol'd at the lockgrumpy.... first game with Mish, but what i read so far has me switching between null and scumlean. Timethingy was iffy... nothing noteable posted from what i recall
Slot15 - Verbal: conflicted, i am. Either he's town and playing well, or he's scum with des and playing even better. Not trusting Verbal for now, null read, seeing i can't decide between town and scum
Slot16 - Leelou: doubt she's scum. She explains herself, the why and how, and i didn't really get the feeling to go vote against her when her little train got off. Townlean for now

 

Reads post, and yeah reading it more closely I see how Nyn got so much mirth out of it lol.

 

Fo real tho. Just read it all. Unbelievably bad. Very little explanation for any of his reads really, just null or townlean or scumlean. Plus he gives a read on himself, that does NOT look like a joke, nor any type of self-deprecating humor. Fake scumhunting alert.

 

As for his read on me, [insert laugh smilie] . I DID in fact mention how Thane eventually told Cory he was town. And thinks I'm scummy for not moving to the bigger train (Dice at the time) in a quicker manner? [insert "huh" smilie] Puhlease. This dude's scum.

 

Oh and I forgot to point out how he has now FOUR TIMES mentioned a scum read on Dice, and even fos'd me for not voting Dice quick enough, YET HE HASN'T VOTED DICE YET. WOW.

 

AJ: DL is still some time away and i wanted to give dice one last chance to explain. Seeing the number of votes on him, if i'd be in his place, i'd be in here and start talking.

 

Thing is tho- Dice DID respond a bit. Thane doesn't mention those posts whatsoever, which makes it plain as day that Thane, who has now FIVE TIMES stated a scumread on Dice, is not in any way interested in truly fleshing out a read on Dice, but is just concerned with pushing the lynch while continuously trying to make it seem like he is waiting to let Dice defend himself.

 

at this point, i'd like to hear anything from dice.... even a 'bah u suck' would be ok. Lurky dice for me is scummy dice, so he'll have to work on that.

The ONLY THING Thane has really made mention of about Dice in the 17 posts he spent building up to this vote is Dice's inactivity, yet even after it was pointed out that Dice has posted recently, Thane continues acting like Dice was completely unconcerned with defending himself.

 

Votes Dice in the guise of a "prod", not an actual vote for potential scum, which is astounding when you consider this vote put Dice to L-2.

The ONLY reasoning Thane ever gave for thinking Dice was scummy was entirely activity related, yet when Dice DID post Thane didn't try analyzing or responding to it in any way to see if he was truly scum. More importantly, Thane is the ONLY ONE who spent like 7 posts laying the foundation for a Dice vote..... just to vote Dice to "wake him up" In the end.

 

Also the level to which Thane is buddying and trying to link himself with Cory here is gross.

His role could be both ways... Have some issues with RTE too... need to reread a tad on him. As for BFG, i somehow automatically read her scum.. For the Cory Des thing.... i lean towards cory's reasoning, seeing Des is going after me too for, imo, weak reasoning.

I really don't recall anything in particular about Hallia.... i'll try to catch up on her when i got some sleep. This week's been hard, and the weekend won't be much better i fear.

 

Only reason I quoted this was because this is the fourth time Thane has mentioned Hallia... yet each time he never says having any kind of lean on her, just that he didn't remember anything by her or that she was null. You'd think if someone continuously kept commentating that they didn't have a read on someone, they'd actually have gone through by now to GET a read on them.

 

So, i'll just be honest here: with the amount of posting, i'm continiously catching up.. it's ridiculous. As for cory, what you said is true, i have no real agenda. Besides looking for scum that is. I watch people's recent actions and see if they conflict with the previous feel i got from them.

 

I asked AJ and everybody else to tell me who they think is scum (and why). If all the players present would like to do so, that'd be great. I know i might look bad for my vote on dice, but my gut feeling won't let me unvote him.
