It's pretty easy to see the point I'm making.

You see the contradiction there, right?

 

 

No - I think they line up pretty well actually.

Your differing opinion is what causes the contradiction, not Darthe's thought process.

 

 

Anything that is done to try to clear yourself without scum-hunting is null at best. Null ≠ obvtown, thus contradiction. 

 

 

 

I disagree.  Maybe not to the extent of obv town, but I do think how he played umprompted/before anyone else the way he did gives him a good amount of town cred.

I wouldn't call it superscummy though, but it's certainly nothing but distracting both now and later in the game. Neither town nor mafia has a direct gain or loss from it - so who are the only one who has a gain in putting focus where it doesn't matter?

I like Wombat's activity but I get the vibe that he's more looking for a reason to vote someone than actually hunting for scum. I think some of his pushes/cases have been sort of weak, he's latching onto small things and driving them into the dirt.

 

 

That's very different from how I see him here.  To me this looks like oldschool DM play before we brought in all the new "logic based" players.  Womby looks great to me atm.  

 

Alanna is on her meta.  She doesn't post much, but when she does it's worth the wait.

I know I played with her a fair bit in the past but is that really her meta?  I'd like to hear more than "she looks town because she posts good things" since it could be said about anyone who knows the game.

Speaking of post count, it's interesting. We have three top posters all with 70+ posts, and then a big jump down to the others with >30 posts. Hunch there is probably one mafia in the top three. 

 

I think the Mish-Len interaction is interesting. I agree Len is acting strangely desperate about Mish claiming (especially the post where he basically says "no, I'm not desperate! WHO ARE YOU!?"), refusing to drop the point. I also think her "hinting" is a valid one, since it arose by someone claiming that everyone is probably side characters - so it would make sense to clear that up. 

 

I'm however wary of her coyness combined with her lack of comment on other stuff in the game. But it's still relatively early D1, so I'm not making assumptions on either Len or Mish at this point. I think it warrants mentioning though - because something is really off with the interaction between them, and it's something I'm pretty sure it'll be worth revisiting. 

 

Also, still dislike the continuous sidetracking with the characters. As stated earlier not a fan of the claim fest - but now even less fan of how it's used to distract and derail.

Good tone post from Laya here.  He is usually snarky as scum imo and here it almost looks stark.

Yeah, that's really her meta.  I've always had a hard time picking her out as scum.  Basically, if I don't have a town read on her by D3 or D4, I'd probably go after her.

AJ claims Fantasy, says he doesn't know the character but describes the picture

Verb asks if AJ just claimed scum, has failed to explain this so far

Len starts to get some votes on him, acts very happy about it

Darthe pegs Len as scum for being forced, saying its a limited pool of Disney character to take from

   (When there is already one character from Pagemaster(?) claimed, that no-one really seem to know)

Darthe points out the page has alot more pageviews then replies, and claim scum is lurking

Darthe agrees claiming ain't gonna help - still pushes the point to other players. 

Mish bribes the mod with black lillies. 

Darthe clears AJ for being the first to character claim for no apparent reason.

Darthe claims either Len or Verb is scum, after one post where Len doesn't agree AJ is cleared Darthe unvotes, "liking his responses"

Darthe gets slightly aggrivated when I try to get the talk away from claim-fest-ing, calling it deflecting. 

Wwwwombat comes in, and announces he will claim, but only if he get more points than AJ. Funny concidering we had already discussed scum probably gets points for fake-claiming, town wont get points for claiming. 

Wwwwombat votes me without giving a reason, when asked he says its because I don't want to talk claiming, yet has. 

Wwwwombat goes onto a pages-long character-claiming-spree.

I come home, skims and post a quick reply, and claim I will re-read and post my thoughts

Im taking a break for the day unless something important comes up. ATM ive made my points and argued my stance. Until something else that needs addressing comes up I really dont have much to say.
